For anyone having a semi-known issue with the mic in call (mic is muted if you switch to loudspeaker during a call, and stays that way till you hang up), try the latest audax kernel (1.3 if i am not mistaken).
Its the only one i found so far which solves the issue, apart from the stock/patched one.

I noticed this problem today, at first I thought it was a Rom or App related (I even unloaded voodoo) so during testing I did a full reboot and had the phones rear speaker against my ear with it facing a mirror... As soon as the samsung boot logo came up (the first one) the rear speaker was active and it kept making this "hissing" sound. (like the sound you hear from large speakers when the power is on but there's no audio input.
The sound is very low and you can only notice it when the speaker is near your ear, now is this normal behavior ? does your sgs do this too? any solution?
during my search for a similar problem I found some thread on cyanogen saying it's samsung related and that it was fixed on later versions (Froyo and up) that doesn't seem to be the case for me...

Exactly the same situation here. We have 3 SGS i9000,all of them have the same problem. I tried several firmwares but nothing changed.Now I am trying the ServiceMode-Audio configurations.

I have the latest Europe firmware (v2.3.4 - I9000XXJVP) but still have the problem.
Do the people you talk to on the phone complain about not hearing you well due to low voice? Make sure by listening to a recorded conversation
The people i talk have no complains about low voice or noise.I tested it with changing phones in a call with my friend. My problem is in my site. In a call i always hear radio interference sound on the background. It is coming from the rear speaker because it is always on. This sound is so loud that i hear it from the ear-speaker hole. Do you have any interference sound ?

I noticed nasty MIC bug, it only occur in call when phone touches face (touchscreen), when it happens sound stuttering starts (for another caller, I hear everything fine!). Is this firmware or hardware related?
When face is not touching screen, sound from mic is fine.. and funny thing - all recording software - no problem, only problem in-call !
Is there any known work-around this nasty bug?

fluence_in_voice_call is probably mapped to build.prop variable persist.audio.fluence.voicecall
Set it to false and problem seems gone.
I am using the titan prime rom and this problem has persisted through all other roms as well. It just happened one fine day and i have no clue about how it happened. My microphone can't detect my voice when i speak into it normally. I have to hold the microphone side to my mouth and shout at my phone so that the other person can hear me.
Note- This only happens with the dialler and whatsapp calls work perfectly with no issues( so this is not a hardware issue)

Since I upgraded to 6.0 Marshmallow I noticed that when I am placed on hold by another caller my phone gives a ringback tone, as if I'm placing a call, and then a short tone. I thought it might be software related and switched from the stock ROM to a few custom ROMs and the issue has disappeared. I would like to keep using the stock ROM until the microphone sensitivity issue is fixed on the other ROMs as my video recordings contain extremely loud audio.
Anybody able to help troubleshoot this call hold issue? It is extremely annoying and quite frankly unbearable.
Hi guys, i have a m7 tmobile version, i had it like months using Slim and had no problems, but lately i tested other roms like lineage and xenon, even slim and some calls i cant hear it anything, like 2 out of 10 get the sound and the rest doesnt, what can i do? i've read some solutions with play services but it didnt work, i flashed a radio image too and still no solution, please if anyone of you had this problem or what can i do, thnx
If you are using an Android N Rom, you should know about the speaker call bug. If you have the speaker active and end the call with speaker active there is no sound in the next call. Solution: Disable speaker before ending the call. Or reboot your device everytime you used the speaker.
