here is my situation:
rooted galaxy mini with CM9 installed.
i remember when i installed this i first flashed my stock phone using odin. that process rooted it. then i installed CWM in recovery mode. then i installed the CM9 file again in recovery mode.
now i want to go back to GB. i am downloading the official rom for my country from sammobile. my query is that do i simply install that rom from recovery mode or do i again have to flash it using odin or something? also is there a way to UNROOT my mobile or not?
kindly give me a detailed procedure. i looked in the threads for this but did not find detailed info.
thanks in advance
flash the official rom with odin and there you go
Either flash any custom gb-based rom, or just flash stock with odin, the second option will also unroot your phone. Search on yagyagaire.blogspot.com for detailed instructions.
Flash the latest stock rom again..
But first wipe data/cache

what version of odin did you used? for galaxy mini it's recommended to use odin 4.38. here's instruction that i used to upgrade my phone to gingerbread http://yagyagaire.blogspot.ie/2011/12/how-to-upgrade-samsung-galaxy-pop-to.html#more just replace firmware with your region, for me it was europe
firmware is not important..any region is fine...
samsung is racist XD for dividing the same old AOSP gingerbread into different locales and simply adding new lockscreens in new builds XD
lol

Wipe data and cache before and after flashing. Or try using the firmware which has 4 files... use XWKTN.

I have recently installed Carbon ROM Build 11 on my Galaxy S Advance. But now I'm not getting used to this Kitkat interface and I want to go back into my stock Jellybean. My phone is currently running on Cyanogen Mod.
Is it possible to downgrade from 4.4.2 to the default jellybean ? If so, then please explain it to me.
I want to go back as fast as I can . I'm asking this doubt here because I don't want to something wrong and end up bricking my device.
I'm new to these forums, so I'm sorry if I have done something wrong. Please help me get out of this problem . Any help will be greatly appreciated

2) Does it unroot my phone ?
3) Will it brick my phone ?
Thanks for answering
Download from samsung-updates.com stock JB firmware, unzip on your PC, open Odin, put the phone in DL and proceed.
That .tar file put it on PDA, wait few moments until check that FW, and hit Start.
Do not unplug the phone until Odin said "Passed" and your phone is rebooted.
Check this guide for more info's, maybe i forget something :

Thnx .. but can I perform these steps to downgrade from kitkat 4.4.2 to jellybean ?
Because in that thread, it is written from GB to JB.
I'm currently running Carbon rom Kitkat. So can I follow these steps to get back to jellybean ?

Okiee.. Thnx. I got my firmware for i9070 from samsung-updates.com.
One last doubt... I recently reinstalled my Windows in my computer. I have installed KIES. But how do I know if I have the drivers for i9070 ?
KIES does not recognize my phone since it is rooted.
How will I know if the drivers are installed ?

You don't need Kies. Only Samsung drivers and Odin.
Samsung drivers you can take from here: http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/model/GT-I9070HKATGY-downloads

Will any of my data be erased in this process ?

If you get a bootloop you must do factory reset. All things from internal memory and sd card will be there, only you will lose apps, contacts, sms and stuff what is wiped when you do factory reset.

Option 1: Go back to stock, root it, install CoCore, install LightJB.
Option 2: Use this script to format preload partition (the one with zip that you flash in recovery) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612540 then install LightJB (with all wipes).

Woah !! My head is spinning now ....hehe
If I go on to do something else other than stock, then I'm sure to brick this device.
Anyway thanks for all the help you guys gave me, if I have doubts or trouble in flashing, I'll ask you guys again
I'm OK with the stock firmware. I'll just connect my device with ODIN , put the .tar.md5 file into PDA , go into download mode and click START.
Before everything , I'll back up my contacts, sms , etc.
Did I say the steps correctly ?

Whenever you want. Just do it before you boot after flashing it.
So ODIN doesn't make the device auto reboot ?
What if ODIN makes it reboot automatically and then hangs on the boot screen ?

It does make auto reboot. Problem with data or cache from old ROM makes hangs on the boot screen. So you must do factory reset if it occurs.
And you always can go to recovery again and do factory reset.
P.S. To make it more clear to you: Odin flash firmware, recovery flash ROM. ROM is modification, firmware contains more things than ROM.
Thank you to all you guys especially shut_down and R_A_Z_V_A_N for helping me out
Its done and I'm back to stock JB Thnx again.

and if it ll lost than any way to save it or recover it/ ? i had extremely precious data in it. but being careless i didnt backed my personal data in my laptop.. please help me guys.. ready to pay any cost for my data

Flashing stock firmware with Odin will not delete your data from SD card. You will probably need to do factory reset, it will delete your contacts, sms, apps... But stuff from internal and external sd will remain there.
You bricked it because 4.4.2 uses preload partition for a swap, and it is partitioned in different way. And on PA 3.69 is probably different.
Or ROM zip of PA was corrupted.
thankyou and one more question

You can't brick phone with clearing cache. Did you wipe system partition? Try to install same ROM that you had (if you had).
Give us a screenshot of Odin fail. What exactly happen. And what is the full name of md5 that you put in pda of Odin. Try different version of Odin too.

You have log window in Odin, where it fails? Try to redownlaod firmware again, and then install again.

And again, if you get FAIL on Odin DO A SCREENSHOT AND POST IT HERE. To see what cause that fail. Left part of this screenshot is a log http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkWcapOu2...gingerbread+s5570jpq8+samsung+galaxy+Mini.jpg

If you Flash TWRP recovery trough Odin, like it is mentioned in another thread all about flashing, you can install CM13 (which is basically Android 6). You don't have to install SuperSU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...install-twrp-custom-roms-g800f-t3439853/page1
This explains just how you do it, of course you have to flash files specific for G800H and not for G800F if you have the Snapdragon version.

Thanks for answering. I think I screwed up a little. Installed twrp and rooted then I tried to install CM but it failed. I read that the reason is I got an old version of TWRP. Just go to Androidfilehost.com and search for hennymcc than go into his CM13 directory for S5 Mini and download the TWRP there. You can flash it via Odin. Then you don't have to root. Just install CM13 from the same directory. No need to root at all. If you want to, just flash SuperSU which you can find on Google.
If you want to wipe, you can do that in TWRP under the option wipe -> advanced wipe -> and mark data, cache, dalvik cache and system.
Thanks again! I downloaded the recovery you told me. There's just a part that I don't get well:

Aaaaaaah you are on Stock right? If you are on Stock:
Flash the TWRP I told you via Odin and right after the flash finished press the buttons to enter recovery. DONT LET IT REBOOT! if it reboots, you have to try again. You have to go into TWRP right after flashing, because otherwise TouchWiz restores the stock recovery. It only does that on the first reboot. Once you were in TWRP, it stays.

Aaaaaaah you are on Stock right? If you are on Stock:
Flash the TWRP I told you via Odin and right after the flash finished press the buttons to enter recovery. DONT LET IT REBOOT! if it reboots, you have to try again. I totally did it that way! because that's what the tutorial says. And eventhough it failed. So I don't know what's the problem
Maybe I need root after all and that's why it don't work. I tried a couple of times more and still had the problem

Did you flash stock in between so everything gets erased? With activated NaND erase button? Under the advanced tab in Odin?

Yeah. Did everything. Is TWRP indispensable to have for installing rom? Is there any other recovery?

There are other recoverys but TWRP works fine and is the best recovery in my opinion. And no, you can flash any zipaligned ROM with the recovery.
Hi,
I had a Note 9 SM-N960F (region XSG) that was ROOTED with Magisk and running Android 8 (Oreo).
I downloaded updated Android 10 firmware for my phone and region (via Samfirm). I placed BL, AP, CP, and HomeCSC files in correct positions. Ran ODIN. PASSED!
But it's bootlooped now.
I can get into "Downloading" and "Stock Recovery." What do I do???
Please help. I'm stuck.

Yes all info will be deleted and you cannot backup anything on this boot loop stage.
But you have to do factory reset anyway otherwise your device won't boot.

After many, many, many bootloops with STOCK FIRMWARE (correct regional and model for my phone), I FINALLY figured it out.
1. First, I used ODIN to flash TWRP.
2. I went into TWRP and I did a full wipe. This deleted my phone completely. No operating system.
3. Next, I went to DrKetans website and downloaded the Android 10.1 firmware he created for the Note 9 (SMN960F). I put that file on a MicroSD card and placed it in my phone.
4. I entered TWRP on my phone and flashed the file on my MicroSD.
5. My phone FINALLY loaded. But I had no reception.
6. So I downloaded the modem file from his site and flashed it via ODIN. I did NOT flash the BL file because i didn't want to mess up the bootloader again.
7. Rebooted my phone with reception.
Hope this helps someone out there.
