[Q] <emergency> Regarding adobe flash player </emergency>

hi everybody.
long story short guys I have been trying to add adobe flash player to system apps for a long time, not expressing literally long time, but apparently this little piece of .... doesn't like me and chooses not to work when I add it to system apps,i have tried tons of different apks and extracted them and copied the lib to system\lib and no result but failure. so I decided to ask you how I can add this thing to system.
so please help before I set adobe on fire then smack my SGA against the wall and jump outta the window.........
Any ways guys I'm trying to make my own Rom so please don't say use root explorer and set permissions and stuff. you know what I mean.

Go here and just install signed_Adobe_Flash_Player_11.1.111.9.apk normally. No need to do anything with libs, there all included.

Whats with you and thread titles? Your previous thread was titled "ATTENTION!ATTENTION!blabla".Now this one is named "<emergency>blabla</emergency>.Titles should be used to identify the thread and in a way that someone can identify your problem.There is no use in making them 'stylish'. Make sure when you move the signed apk to system/app you set the permissions to rw-r-r :

Also, after installing apps you can use titanium backup or link2sd to turn them into system apps. Just reboot afterwards.
Also, try to leave your frustation at home instead of flaming people that give you plausible solutions.

thanks for your posts guys, but apparently you got this completely wrong. I am trying to Make my own ROM (called GingerIceCream ;-) and well obviously you do this on a computer not on your phone (set permissions and stuff... not needed) anyways guys permission/apk to system/lib files and ... I have done them all guys and this is not the first time I'm compiling apps to system apps I have managed to compile any app that I wanted to system e.g QQplayer,Quickpic and ... and never came across such a problem but this time it just makes no scene I don't understand why it doesn't work its got all the stuff it needs permission and libs and everything

You mean you are putting the app in /system/app and putting the libs in /system/libs ?

Well, after installing flash as a system app check where the libs end up. Then just add the libs and lines to the updater script to make sure they end up in the same address.
If the libs install to data im not sure they would survive a factory reset, since you stated that putting just the app in the system/app doesn't help.

S note still not working even after tweaks (rom xxls1)

I recently flashed the preview of the stock JellyBean for our device on my phone. Thanks to all those who made it happen. Of course it came with some bugs and there were various bugfixes. Flashed them and followed all guidelines, everything but one works -- S NOTE!
I have SNote_Q1.apk and
QuickSnote_Q1.apk in /data/app
SMemo_Q1.apk
SMemoProvider_Q1.apk
SNoteQ1_Provider.apk in /system/app
as the forums and threads I've read instructed us to do.
But S Note still doesn't seem to work. It always force closes when I initialize it. The pop up note works though.

AFAIK, widget will there in the homescreen by default..if not, try adding one & see if it works..I haven't tried it since I yet to flash JB..

If I am not wrong, long pressing on your homescreen will you the option "Add". Go to that & add "S-note". Then try opening it. Since, I am using Go Launcher, I forgot how it is in TouchWiz

LOL please I know all those little things. Its not in my widget drawer.

How to make Snote run in RR JB.
-Install RR JB and let it boot once
-Delete Snote in your beloved ROM
-Extract Snote from RR JB rom. Locate at /data/app (~76MB)
-Put into USB storage
-Install it
-It is WORKS now!!!
Only tested on RR JB. Should work on other JB rom too

Ok, make it simple.
1) go classics jb beta rom thread and looking at the last few pages, please find mr. Vijai post which he post the link for the snote app which contain around 74mb++.
2) After downloaded that both file, copy to your smartphone sd card.
3). Using root explorer, copy both file into system----app.
4) fix permission and restart.
5) After phone reboot, find snote widget and lauch the snote for the very 1st time.
This method are almost works for all jb leaked rom.

Thanks. It worked. But both files must be in data not system. I just installed them as normal apks. Thanks for the help anyway

Here you can download and try to replace snote files.
With a file manager like solid browser or root explorer just replace all files
Then wipe cache and dalvik, reboot and let's see if it work :laugh:

Few system apps got deleted..need help

I noticed my browser bar and my magazine got deleted so how and no back up of phone. I email keeping crashing and if i touch near bottom of phone where brower bar would be my touchwiz crashes please can someone tell me how to reinstall these

As far as where to get these files you deleted, IDK...Can't you just factory reset and wipe and start over?

here you go bro. remember, root explorer or some file explorer with root, copy these to /system/app making sure to press R/W so it becomes R/O. then paste the copied items. then change permissions to rw-r-r-- for each file by long pressing on each apk once copied into /system/app. rw-r-r-- is acheived by checking all boxes in the first column (read) and first box in the second column (write). then press R/O so it becomes R/W. reboot, and you're good. do not "install" - they will auto install themselves upon reboot. just making sure you know how to do this if you don't already. if so, good luck!

Thanks man... Browser bar is back up and running but for some reason magazine is not working. When I swipe up from bottom it says application not installed and tries to take me to Google play store.

figured...i saw two other apps in the system/app folder that looked like they were related to the magazines app. i'll upload them for you in a bit and do the same process with them to install.

Good place to start. I move the apk to my comp so I have it just in case before I delete it off the phone some use TB and just freeze the apk.

Kids mode apks?

Can anyone pull the kids mode apks from their tab and post them for me? I have a debated Tom that I love but my wife wants those apps back...
The only ports I can find are from the 5th and they don't quite work on this tab.
Probably don't need all the apps within the app but will need the kidsapps, kidshome, installer, landingwidget, and parental control apks...
Any help with this would be awesome.

Interesting. I pulled it from the deodexing firmware T525XXUANH4 for t525th. It works for me, of course. Perhaps the reason is deodex. Well, here's set of apk&odex (place in folder /system/app and give rights rw-r--r--):

Well, I would probably be surprised if that Kids Mode began to work. Firstly, it's this version of the apk for Kitkat. Second, it needs Touchwiz. Correct me if I'm wrong.
At least on CM 12.1 I couldn't run a version for Android 5.1.

SecKidsModeInstaller(app+odex) did not work on my cm-12.1-20150507-UNOFFICIAL-i9082.
The icon appeared but did not installd.
Giving error.

Getting the following error, root checked, permission granted, 4.2.2. Any thoughts?

someone will probably have to have it installed then pull app data for libs folder if there are any. then you would need to flash the /data/app/name of apk folder with libs to the correct area and also the main .apk to /system/app
but then again some manufacturer's apps are not compatible with aosp or cm based roms and need porting to work
(if that is what you are running)

I tried to downloadt the app by the original installer several times, but it always stops on ~68MB !

Having had a crack at this myself... On my newsed SM-T325 I just got myself. I can only suspect that the clue is in the name seckidsmode... Sec here referring to security al-la knox mode perhaps?! no, not so much as full on knox, as such. But is still tied up somehow in as far as once its gone its gone. At least this is what I found when I tried to reinstall it back onto a rooted, but otherwise stock... And 0x0 valid SM-T325.
You might not care to hear it, but the only way I was able to recover (Twice now, as I write this!), was to re-flash the current BOC1 Firmware on top of everything again. Thankfully this hasn't tripped up my Knox... yet though I need to re-install TowelRoot + SuperSU again, unlike Knox however, you can install, and use this Kids Mode while rooted. But, as to reinstall it again after you've yanked it?
Well lets say that I'm kinda interested to know that One too...

My guess is 'cause you have to have TouchWiz installed... It is a Stock Samsung APK after all.

Mute point now... But, I was on Stock at the time.
The only way I managed at the time to recover the Kids Mode, was to re-Stock, and to not removing it to begin with.

[SOUNDS][5.0 LOLLIPOP] Flashable

Hey all,
I am simply posting this flashable zip I put together thanks to @dwitherell for the 5.0 vr zip.
I am sure many of you are like me and are sick of flashing roms with KitKat sounds on your new Nexus 6. This should help resolve the issue:
Instructions:
Please flash at your own risk, I am not responsible for any issues. Make a backup first
1. Download an app like root explorer and delete your media folder from /system.
2. Wipe Cache/Dalvik then Flash this zip and you should have 5.0 Lollipop sounds back on your device.
*Note: I included stock 5.0 bootanimation.zip in this as well only because I needed it to get rid of an unwanted custom boot animation.
This will also delete outdated sounds
You can add whatever boot ani you want to this zip in the same location or delete the boot animation from the zip.

You most likely should be able to flash it, but I'd highly recommend copying your existing system/media/audio folder to your internal memory, and NOT the root of your internal memory, since your device will try to pull sounds from that new location on boot if you don't create a differently named folder in the of the SD memory folder (ie, make a folder on the internal and name it something like "stock sounds," then place the ones you copied in system into that subfolder).
After you've done the above, extract and push the same-named files from the zip linked in the OP to their respective locations in system/media/audio, fix permissions for each, and reboot. This seems tedious, but it's the more conservative approach.

Use root Explorer and let me know if you still have issues. You need to be rooted to delete it for sure
