Here is my story.. i'm looking for as much help as possible.
Sunday the phone was plugged all day charging... I left my house to go somewhere and as i was speaking on the phone for about 5 or 6 minutes the phone Just cut off and shut down. When i tried to boot i would get my Red rogers boot screen and it dies. Pulled the battery and the same issue happened.
When i got home i plugged it and booted it Booted fine! After plugging it in the wall.
The NEXT day Monday .... as im leaving work going home i was surfing / Texting as i do all day ... not non stop but again the phone was plugged all day at work ... the phone dies again .. Same thing.... wont open ... until i plug the power..
Anyone experienced this issue? My phone also gets warm when im browsing and doing other stuff... I could understand the battery dying quickly but the phone is brand spanking new!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also when i plugged the phone getting home there was 2 lines left on the battery...
Hi, Yesterday my phone got wet in my pocket in a rainstorm. I took the battery out and put it into rice for 12 hrs approx. Then took the phone apart and dried it using a hair dryer.
After an hour, I tried to turn it on. When I place the battery, it turns on automatically, shows Semaphore Splash Screen and Galaxy S logo, but restarts after a few seconds (<5 secs).
Tried to go to Download/Recovery Mode, it goes but the phone restarts, again.
I guessed it might be a battery problem. So I tested another one. After placing it, the phone shows a charging sign which is odd because it's not connected to a power source.
Has an ICS Slim v4 Custom ROM + Semephore v2.7.4; if it helps.
As you know, I can not flash a new ROM 'cause it's not stable in Download/Recovery Mode.
Is there a hardware problem here? Which part?
Any help would be appreciated.
It is possible that water is still inside the switches etc.
I'm not sure if you know these little bags that sometimes are inside of the packaging of stuff you buy. These little bags are moisture absorbers.
I would go to a computer or musicstore to check if they have these around in their warehouse somewhere.
Then if you have these bags lock them up with your phone in an almost closed (plastic) case for a couple of days.
hello
few days ago i have dropped my phone in a water bucket. i took it out of the bucket and i have left it inside the rice for about 48 hours. after drying the phone inside the rice i used the hair dryer.
that is the whole story but the problem is
when i tried to turn on the phone i could not do that so i went to charge it at that time i have found that my battery is 0% and it turned on
after one hour of using my phone i have not seen any progress in charging i meant it is still 0%
so i decided to pull out the cable and put it again
when i did that the phone was not able to boot and when i turn it on it will turn off at the same time because my battery is 0
(at the first time it was not charging but i was able to use it but now i cant use it because it is turning of quickly)
therefore i have decided to change the battery my self and i did it and changed the battery ( i did it with out the help of any technician)
but the same issue is occurring again the phone wont charge or turn on even after 10 hours of charging.
anyone can help me in my problem do you have any ideas about how can i fix my phone ?
i dont know is this problem because of the battery (i mean the new battery that i have changed) or because my phone became broken after the water damage
help me please
my phone is galaxy note 5 SM-N920C
I think your power card is broken you may have to change it because it isn't about software its hardware issue
So i bought this note 4 off ebay. My other note 4 is busted (screen popping out, turns on and off) and i didn't want all the stuff i had for it to go to waste, i have a newer S8 too but i need a spare phone.
And off the box it would not turn on! This was fine you know because i was used to my old note 4 needing to be perpetually charging to stay on. That's just how it is i guess.
But to my surprise the real issue came up.... It wouldn't recognise charging! I put its battery on my old phone it had like 78% charge and was able to charge. I tried my old battery on it and it also wouldn't charge or turn on. So... i took the phone to a shop and was turned away cause they gave up and the other offered to replace the charging port for $150AUD then $120AUD (seemed like a an obvious scam).
They were able to boot the phone! Just from messing around with the battery more. And it seems if the phone is able to boot it can charge. I also did rigorous tests at a local food court like fingerprint, nfc tap and pay and flash photography is fine. However.... even though it was plugged into a power bank and was at 70% battery the phone died... And guess what it wouldn't boot and it wouldn't charge again.
I took it home.... My friend lent me his note 4 on the way with a newer battery. Over the night i got down a method of mitigating the issue... It seems the phone has an inability to initiate the battery to charge when it dies. By that i mean 100% of the time if i can replicate the issue by letting the battery die from there it won't charge the battery or boot. So the most reliable way to restart it is that you need another note to initiate the battery any note 4 even my busted Note 4 would do and you charge it for like 5 seconds then you plug that battery onto this note 4. I made an imgur post about it imgur.com/a/wxVj4AE
This makes sense of why the phone booted at the repair shops as i had initiated the phone on my old phone on the way back by chance. The weird screen also confuses me. Odin i recognise as custom rom thing perhaps it was previously rooted then improperly installed with stock samsung rom.
30% of the time there is this bootloader screen that comes up. "Could not do normal boot", "ddi: mmc_read failed", "Odin mode (high speed)", "system status: custom". The appearance of odin mode and system status = custom leads me to the idea that this once was rooted then rooted back to stock android. With further research i have also discovered that "ddi: mmc_read failed" is a system wide issue which i can maybe fix by 1) re-flashing with stock android and hope that fixes it 2) sending it to samsung to repair or replace for like $70 US 3) have some app to keep it awake almost all of the time in some form.
However i haven't seen this mmc issue be connected with ignoring chargers and not booting.

Hi there, i need some basic guidance before i take any purchasing decision.
A few weeks ago a Nokia 2.1 (TA-1035 DS) got sea wet. Inmediately i shake it and went back home to open it and detach battery at least since powering it off wasn't possible. After leaving it on rice for 24 hrs and givin it an imediate blow air to dry it off i managed my self to dry most parts and extract any sulfat i could notice. After leaving it again 24 hours i connected it to its charger and noticed and exclamation mark of the battery which claims the battery is not approved.
I could test the voltage at the very moment it got we and it was 3.75v and it keep that way. I left it 4 hourse charging but if i enter recovery mode and detach the usb cable it powers off. I didn't noticed any damaged component but I can only access recovery or fastboot but since i don't have a custom recovery and it doesnt have unlocked bootloader so im a little stuck here.
Please any guidance how to recover it before i purchase a new battery if there is something to do of course.
Thanks!
BTW: data is not important i would love to flash it with a new ROM with more speed and stability.
Well a few minutes ago i thought of unpluging the battery conector once again...and waila...the phone started charging. I will leave it charging and after that i will post the results.
