galaxy note 5 charging issue (does not charge more than 0%) - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello
few days ago i have dropped my phone in a water bucket. i took it out of the bucket and i have left it inside the rice for about 48 hours. after drying the phone inside the rice i used the hair dryer.
that is the whole story but the problem is
when i tried to turn on the phone i could not do that so i went to charge it at that time i have found that my battery is 0% and it turned on
after one hour of using my phone i have not seen any progress in charging i meant it is still 0%
so i decided to pull out the cable and put it again
when i did that the phone was not able to boot and when i turn it on it will turn off at the same time because my battery is 0
(at the first time it was not charging but i was able to use it but now i cant use it because it is turning of quickly)
therefore i have decided to change the battery my self and i did it and changed the battery ( i did it with out the help of any technician)
but the same issue is occurring again the phone wont charge or turn on even after 10 hours of charging.
anyone can help me in my problem do you have any ideas about how can i fix my phone ?
i dont know is this problem because of the battery (i mean the new battery that i have changed) or because my phone became broken after the water damage
help me please
my phone is galaxy note 5 SM-N920C

I think your power card is broken you may have to change it because it isn't about software its hardware issue

Red LED when plugged in, NO LED unplugged. Will not turn on

Does this mean my battery is dead? I pulled it out of my briefcase this morning, and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in to the wall and it powered up and sync'ed up (at least my data is backed-up), I left it plugged in so it could charge and when I came back to it, it was dead, just a red LED on the right side, and thats it. I've removed the battery and reinserted, which didn't do anything. Do I need a new battery?
Thanks for any info,
Brock
HELP TOO
I am getting a similar thing and I bought it used about two nights ago. Mine occasionally turns on, but 'bombs' out again if used too long
your pocket pc out of battery, charge it again till full......
I too have started having this problem since the weekend! My phone constantly shows the red light whenever on charge with cradle or direct from wall!!!!
Help please!
the red light used to show that the battery are low, you got message or got miss call.... try to check all that first or try to soft reset once....
Thats the problem though, the battery has run flat and whenever I put it onto the cradle to recharge the red light just comes on. If I put the battery directly into the cradle the red light comes on the front of the cradle. This is happening with both of batteries.
Last time the battery on my phone went flat enough for the red light to come on it took 48 hours constant charging before it started to work again...
Maybe your phone has a short in the charging circuit, the battery or the part of the PCB where the battery connections meet the main circuit?
I had this problem with mine.
i left the battery out for about 24hrs..
then put battery back in and left phone to charge for 24hrs..
it then turned on and has been fine since
this things happened when the backup battery is completly dead or dischargd i used to have this problem but i opened the xda2i and recharge the backup battery "ofcourse i took it out "and it has no problem since only that the battery metter is working weird so the problem is that ur backup battery is completly discharge
how to fix this easier just let the xda in the craddle 24 hours with the main battery on it should work unless is blocked the u need to take the + from the backup battery out and put it back on after a few mins and that's it u got ur xda2i working again!!

Tilt thinks battery is empty when its full

My phone suffered some water damage and everything seems fine except for whatever piece of hardware checks if the battery is fully charged (is it on the battery itself?). The amber charging light was on for 5 hours and yet my phone would just boot up to the Today screen, produce a Battery Low message and shut off. I had my phone in the bootloader for a few minutes so I was fairly certain that the battery was charged. By some stroke of luck, I was able to use my phone for a short time. The phone recognized that the battery was full and I was able to browse the internet, make calls, etc. When I rebooted the phone to check if this was a permanent change, I found out that it was not. My phone went back to shutting off upon startup.
Is there a registry entry to disable automatic shut off? I could cook a crude ROM with just this registry entry so that at least my phone would be functional.
Or do I need a new battery?
Thanks in advance for your help
im having similar issue but not from water.. every time i use speakerphone the phone dies or using the camera.. this happens most of the time if i use either one.. im thinking its battery shorting out maybee.. once i plug it in via use or ac to give it power its fine.. i have a replacement battery coming so i hope that will fix it
My Kaiser phone also suffered some water damage from a spilt bottle of water. The amber charging light was on for hours and yet my phone would just boot up to the Today screen, produce a Battery Low message and shut off. By some stroke of luck, I was able to use my phone for a short time after the phone recognized that the battery was full and I was able to make calls etc. When I rebooted the phone after charging to check if this was a permanent change, I found out that it was not. My phone went back to shutting off upon startup. Brought a new battery but still experiencing the same problem. HELP

SGS charging without charger plugged in

The other day I was in a hospital and my phone was next to the bed but the charger wire was tangled in the bed. So a nurse came up and rolled out the bed and the phone fell from quite high on the (hard) floor.
It still worked, screen wasn't cracked so I didn't think much of it.
But now, the phone can be charged with the charger. As soon as I unplug the charger there are 2 things that can happen:
1. The phone keeps saying it's charging. Other than that the phone is fully functional. Battery drain is much higher though, in 10 minutes I lose 7% battery.
2. The charging icon in the battery will flash on and off. When I switch off the screen, the lock-screen immediatly turns on and the text charging blinks, it's like someone is plugging in the charger and takes it out immediatly, battery drain is even higher when this occurs, I lose 50% within the hour, depending of what I'm doing.
Sometimes the problem is not there, the phone will function normally, but the problem will come back within 1 or 2 hours and usually when I plug in a charger and take it out later. Also, sometimes it seems the phone is not charging and the charge indicator will stay at a certain percentage but when I reboot the phone it it fully charged (according to the indicator).
First I thought it was an android problem. But when I switch off the phone the charging image appears as well and starts blinking, also the menu and back button flash on and off. It's also quite difficult to switch on the phone at this point and the battery image shows only the outline of the battery, not how much charge is in it.
So far I tried 2 other chargers, 2 other batteries (1 original Samsung and 1 after market). Rebooted the phone many times and left the battery out for an hour.
Anyone knows of what causes such a problem? Of course, the fall was the start of the problem. Could there be some pins bent in the usb socket of the phone?

I had a problem recently in which even though I kept my phone on charging (and it showed that it is charging), the battery percentage either remained same or it went down even though it was plugged in.. went to samsung and they said the usb port is damaged and they replaced it.. I think the same resolution will be for your problem
Mmm....makes sense. What does Samsung charge for that?

[Q] battery issue. please help :)

hi everyone.
ai bought a second hand gear 1 from ebay and the seller said she obly used it twice when she got it a year ago and its been sat unused since then.
my issue is that i charge the watch up and it seems to go down normally and then when its about halfway down it just dies and wont turn on for at least 20mins then when it starts up it shows 0% battery and shuts down. then i power up again later and its back to halfway?
i have tryed resetting many times and nothing seems to work. I have also tryed putting the Null custom rom on and makes no differance. the watch is perfect apart from that. my thought is that the battery inside is stuffed from not being used for so long but not sure
thanks for ur input guys!
Matt
Does it get hot?
It may be shutting down due to excess heat, partic since you say it restarts later.
How long did you charge it for, I've read that a PC USB charge of 16 hours+ may be needed if the watch has been left sometime without charge.
Other than that it may mean that you need a new battery - sorry.
thanks very much for the advice. it was the battery. i replaced it and all seems ok now

help! htc one wont turn on

Hello, i got a big problem with my phone, 3 days ago i was outside and it started to rain so heavy and the phone got wet, by that time it was like in 3% charge, so i was expecting to die on me, it did, but since it got wet, i did not know if the phone was off because of the water, water damage and stuff, so i left it in rice for it to dry over the night and some days. Now some days had pass, i connect the phone to the wall charger and only the red led blinks, like each second, sometimes the screen shows the batery icon like when the phone goes out of charge, not showing increasing charge, just the battery icon. i dont know what to do, many told me the battery is unusable, other the usb conector needs to be replaced, at this i think might be true, since any usb charger will fit loose and disconnect easly. What do you think?
Found a video with my problem showing up
