Hello
I have Note 5 running Marshmallow 6.0.1 with a stock rom.
My problem is that from time to time now I get this error message "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" all of the sudden, I've had this problem about 4 times, I flash the latest SU zip and the problem is solved.
My question is why does this happen?
I can confirm that I did NOTHING to provoke this problem. I only have Xposed, Greenify and Titanium Backup.
This happened on 2 different stock ROMs
Also, I added SuperSu to the white list in DOZE mode.
What would cause this so I can avoid this problem in the future.
Thank you in advanced.
It might be due to your security patch.. some would uninstall root.

Root appears to be fine for a few moments after rebooting the phone (stock 2.3.3 + latest Superuser and 3.1.1 binary recently updated from 3.0.1 which worked fine) but then it fails to grant permissions. Weird.
Am thinking about simply reflashing upd_1.zip or installing SuperSU to see if that helps.
Any advice?
Incidentally, not sure if there is a causal link, but it seems attempting to use adbWireless forces the problem. But it seems Binary is the more likely cause...
Just done a test, all root apps work perfectly fine. ADBWireless is fine too, but then when I ask for it to activate, it freezes and causes everything else to lose root.
OK, fixed. Downloaded SuperSU, rebooted phone, root access available, then SuperSU updated binary and now adbWireless (and everything else) works fine. Great stuff.
Well, not a singlle answer after so many views for days, but thank God it doesn't matter anymore, I was able to force the solution for th issue anyways! Issue resolved, if you have updated to 5.0.2 and have rooted your device before or after causing it to lose WiFi, please check out my solution for this issue here, it may very well prove to be your definitive solution. Thanks!

Installing the 5.0.2 OTA while rooted completely and utterly broke my WiFi. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get Wifi to work again. In the end I gave up, and just did a full factory reset from recovery. My recovery version btw is TWRP 2.8.3, and after installing the ZIP ROM update from the first post of this thread TWRP stayed, I didn't have to install it again. So anyways, I let it boot up and then rebooted back to recovery to root on recovery exit, which caused bootloops for a little while until I used Power+VolDown to go back into recovery and installed the SuperSU 2.45 zip from there. NO MORE PROBLEMS! It's just, PERFECT!!! Finally, no more long waits while booting looking at the logo, no more bootloops, and most importantly: by only using the recovery zips to root and never trying to root from the system or allowing it try to update SuperSU from the Play Store, NO WIFI ISSUES, from the very start all is just perfectly functioning, soooo smooth and really fast! FINALLY!!!!!! Really happy here, so remember, for XT1064 TWRP 2.8.3.0, and SuperSU 2.45 should really do the trick. Good Luck!

And here's the link to the actual thread that has the appropriate 5.0.2 Stock ROM flashable ZIP file:

Hi. i'm on Galaxy S6 6.0.1 marshmallow (STOCK ROM) that recently rooted and installed Xposed custom build by wanam.
I regret after finding out that i was unable to use barclays banking app and snapchat;
Unsure if my phone is soft bricked due to my history of actions:
First, i have installed normal xposed that caused bootloop and then proceed to replace it with the custom build version by wanam upon researching in the forums.
Upon finding out that i was unable to use the apps mentioned above after booting,
I unrooted my phone believing it was due to the root without removing xposed. It still didn't work so I rerooted it back just to remove xposed.
After flashing the uninstaller.zip, it went on bootloop again. I tried flashing several uninstaller including the one provided by wanam and it all didn't work.
The only solution i found in the internet was to deleting the file on data/data/de.****xposed via TWRP file manager. That didn't work as well and I panicked when the reboot button in TWRP weren't working anymore so i manually rebooted and proceeded to wipe my data heavy-heartedly which also didn't bypass the bootloop.
Now, i am left with no option and only able to use my newly wiped phone after reinstalling Xposed again.

Did you wipe dalvik&cache after flashing the uninstaller?

Yes, although i need to manually reboot it as TWRP doesn't reboot automatically for me.
Would you think that might be the problem?

I don't think so. I would suggest that you ask for help in wanam's Xposed thread as this is the version you installed.
Hello Guys,
After trying around for days i decided to turn to a Forum to seek help.
I have the following Problem:
After trying for Ages to install Magisk on my Samsung XCover 4 (because there is no TWRP or CWM recovery for this Phone) i finally managed too find out how to get the boot.img and install magisk and later that day also some modules(For example Smalipatcher). But two days ago there was an option to update Magisk, and i tried it. The thing that happend was that my Phone crashed after updating and i was stuck in a bootloop which was going from reboot automatically in the system recovery/bootloader and so on. I had to reflash stockrom and resetted everythig to the way it was before updating. BUT: there was a Issue. After reflashing stock and rerooting my old patched_boot.img.tar with old magisk (v.18.1) i was not able to install modules anymore. After trying to install Terminal Emulator the Log said:
-extracting module files
-Setting permissions
-Done
And i was curios, because last time i installed it, it was very much longer, and after checking installed modules, it was nowhere to find. Same thing with Smalipatcher. nowwhere to find as well.
What can i do?? I really need to get the old ,,Working´´ Magisk with modules back for some spoofing shenanigans.
i hope someone can help me.
If you need my stock rom or something else to help me, im gonna provide it asap.
thanks
I've been out of the game of installing roms for a few years now 'cos the Slim Rom has been so solid that I've not needed to do anything.
So currently running [ROM][5.1.1|STOCK][D5803|D5833] 23.4.A.1.264 SLiM 5.0 on a D5803 and I think I had SuperSU v2.46 installed.
SuperSU kept nagging me to update it whenever logging into Android.
I had a feeling it would cause an issue, probably after a similar experience to what I'm having now, so I never did it. Anyway I absent mindedly hit update in SuperSU and now my phone bootloops.
I can get in to TWRP still so that's good.
I have the Slim Rom still, as a .zip file, but TWRP is having none of that. I tried installing SuperSU v2.78.zip from TWRP but that didn't work either.
Has anyone got any suggestions what I can do? Browsing the phone through TWRP shows most of the files and folders in tact.
Frustratingly I must have deleted a full back up that I did some time last year so cannot resort to that.
Perhaps a dirty install as I want to keep the current config ideally.
**SOLVED**
Quick update....I must have had a permissions issues with my external sd card (long been suspected this was the case just never got around to sorting it) as I swore that I'd attempted this procedure earlier today. Anyway I swapped out the ext sd card for another one after having dropped Super SU v2.79 on the replacement. I then booted into Phil Touch wiz ( I have both Phil Touch wiz and TWRP installed) recovery and installed the SuperSU v2.79.zip from there. Did not select the first option which I think was asking to disable recovery but selected yes to the second option (whatever that was, can't remember). Phone then rebooted but took a while as it updated all the apps and then I successfully proceeded through into the fully intact OS.
