I have strange behavior of screen before turn off.
I set screen turn off after 1min. So after 1 min screen dim, and suddenly undim an after that turn off. Its quite annoying for me cause i remember that screen should dim and after that just turn off, but on my phone just before turn off its undim. Anybody know how can i change it even in framework?
I have the same behavior...

Are you on a modified rom or on stock?
For me when I cover the screen with my palm, there is a quick vibration then screen dims and comes back on. On my square G watch this would enter theater mode which was nice in the car to turn off the display when dark outside.
The pull down menu, swipe left theater mode does work. That method isn't as convenient when driving however.
I know there are settings for always on and tilt to wake screen, but I only want the screen to turn off while driving at night. Rest of the time I like the screen on to show watch face and brighten when I raise arm.
Any other settings or way to make the palm cover work?

Press the side button twice to enter theatre mode.
Same here. As soon as "Always on" mode is active, covering the screen does not trigger anymore theater mode.
Only way to get it is double press the side button as mentioned by mward1999
covering the screen should get you ambient mode not theater mode, when using always on.

Unfortunately no. Now you have to swipe down, tap the brightness icon, tap theater mode icon. Definitely less convenient.

awesome. thank you!
couple of weeks ago I noticed screen just goes black when trying to come out of dim mode. did factory reset by unpairing. I can re pair ok using the dim screen so all seems ok apart from the black display when in main display mode. ie I can still swipe etc to pair the phone even though there is no display, I just have to wait till screen goes dim to see what to do now. any suggestions . never tried to use laptop with cradle and watch so is there some sort of diagnostic programme using a laptop/pc. tried theatre mode etc and it vibrates but still no main display

it also shows the charging state ok brightly when on the cradle
Does anyone notice that if you turn on always on mode, there's a possibility that The watch's screen would suddenly go black when you are trying to wake it up.
Yes, it happens all the time, I cannot use always on mode at all.
Edit: setting brightness to a higher level helps - see https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=230286
thank you.
So my LG G Watch started going black, it stays on while it's in "Always On" mode but when I touch the screen it shows the actual watch face then goes black but when I put it in Always on mode it shows the screen
