Wpa supplicant for ad hoc wifi

Does anyone know a woy to let our gt 8.9 be connected with an ad hoc wifi connection? I tried with the solution proposed for the gt 10.1 but doesn't work.

Android phone as USB modem on RPi

Hey there.
I've been using a RPi as mediacenter connected to the internet over ethernet, but now I'd like to use an Samsung Galaxy Android phone running USB internet sharing for connecting.
I'm using RaspBMC in it's latest version; but I can't seem to find a way to connect to the internet using USB.
When connected via ethernet I have full control and can connect via SMB, SSH and FTP with no problem; but it seems that the RPi can't see the USB shared internet.

Have you tried the easy connect addon?

Question: why not just get a cheap, tiny wifi dongle and use the wifi hotspot on the phone to share the connection that way? Seems much easier...the dongle I use is this one:
Edimax EW-7811UN Wireless N 150Mbps USB Nano Adapter 802.11b/g/n abgn with EZmax
It's a plug-and-play item fully compatible with the Pi (meaning, you don't need to configure anything, it just works).

Because I already had the phone. But if this won't work I'll buy a wifi dongle and skip the phone. I just need to connect to the in-house network

Not much information you gave. Have you secured your router changed password etc. Try to disable guest mode.

Well first thing to do is shut off guest mode...
Then change your router password and reconnect both devices so they can't be accessed without Router access.

If someone's hacking your network, definitely do what the others have suggested - change passwords, and consider enabling MAC restrictions.
If you think they're using Chromecast to somehow get in, consider getting the Chromecast Ethernet Adapter which is a combination Ethernet adapter and power supply. Note that it takes up the OTG functionality, so if you need OTG for other stuff, look for a compatible USB Ethernet adapter.

How can i cast/connect to a TV

Hello,
I just bought for my father a Mi Pad 4 Plus .
Unfortunetly it was in chinese/english (coming from gearbest) but my old father managed to install a new rom good
But at last, it's not easy to connect/cast to a TV.
He tried with USB/C => HDMI adaptator without sucess.
I've read that chromecast doesn't work.
It seems that maybe with a dongle with anycast could work or mirroring with a mirroring app on the TV may be ?
He got two TV, one smart and the other not (even if the tv can connect to internet)
Do you have any solution wich work at 100% ?

Reviews say Mi Pad 4 Plus doesn't support video out via usb-C, but casting to a Chromecast should work, I'll test on mine in a few hours when I'm home.
I believe I'm on unofficial global ROM (xiaomi.eu)

I can confirm my Mi Pad 4 Plus can connect to my Chromecast, although it's not optimised, displays a lower resolution on the TV than the one on the device. Casting Youtube/Twitch/VLC/etc works great at good quality

Please try this:
Setting - permission - Google Play Services - (look for) Record audio - (choose) Accept.
Now, restart the Mi Pad 4 Plus
Go to app, Home. You can use it to mirror your screen to Chromecast 2 now.

P30Pro and Android Auto

Hello,
i have a P30 Pro with the Firmware VOG-L29 9.1.0.178(C431E4R2P2) and a problem with Android Auto.
If i connect the P30Pro with my car, there is a connection error.
The USB Settings on the phone switch automaticly to only charging. If i switch to data transfer it changes automaticly to only charging.
On the last Firmware i have no problems with the connections to Android Auto.
Have anybody the same probleme or an idea?

Sometimes, I have to select the data transfer setting two or three times before it will connect to the car. But it always works after 2 or 3 times. USB debugging might also make it work better.

I have no problems and never had. Also i never changed the connection mode, nor did i enable usb debugging. I'm using the original cable, though. Some cars/phones seem to have problems with cheap usb cables, my dad also noticed that but is fine after using the original one.
Was it working once? Did you registered the car in Android Auto or has is failed ever since? Is there a message on the phone?

Witch firmware do you have? And what for a model?

I have similar issue, the connection "dies" everytime I connect it to the car for the first time after being parked. Takes about 1-2 minutes, then it disconnects. I haven't investigated what the phone does, but my quickfix is usually to plug the cable in/out. After that, the connection is stable. The issue started around .162 or .165

Hi all. I have this problem as well. Just bought a carplay, but my P30 Pro (Android 10) wouldn't connect at all. I tried with different cables, including original one, still no luck. WIth any other cable it works fine from a Samsung Note 10+. Any idea?

I have the same issue with my P30 pro and civicX
After emui 10 I just can't use android auto in the car.
I have the app on my phone, and it works on the phone. But when I connect to the car it wont work.
(all the Samsungs and apple that I have home work perfectly)

I have the same problem as all people here.
After usb plug, only charge (that's not important) . Some times connects at first time and some other i have to select other usb connection mode (i discovered unplug cable is not necessary)

Hello there! I'm trying to connect my P30 Pro with Android Auto on a Seat Leon. I always receive an error message and the connection with android auto always fails. I tried to enable Usb Debug, to install old versions of AA on my phone (for example v. 5.3 and v. 5.4). I'm using the originale data cable (actually two of them since I have two P30 pro at home). AA worked well with my old Samsung Note 8 and Mate 10 Pro. Do you have any suggestion? Thank you!

you guys need better cables, use the factory Huawei one and you'll have no issues.

I'm using two original cables (I have two P30 Pro at home). It isn't a cable problem but probably an issue with Android 10 and Android Auto. This problem affects different recent models of Huawei (P30 pro, mate 20 pro..).

Hello there! Just an update, AA doesn't work only with the Seat Leon. I tried other cars and everything is ok. I will try to update Full Link Seat.. It should solve the issue. Byee

I had android 10 and 10.1 stock cable a no issues whatsoever. I just traded phones with my little bro for a s10e ??

Hello! My p30 pro can connect with Hyundai kona (2021) via usb cable. But in wireless mode, the coonection has issue: the wificonnection is over the 4g+ connection, so, I don't have mobile data on the kona's device. What can I do?
