Hey there.
I've been using a RPi as mediacenter connected to the internet over ethernet, but now I'd like to use an Samsung Galaxy Android phone running USB internet sharing for connecting.
I'm using RaspBMC in it's latest version; but I can't seem to find a way to connect to the internet using USB.
When connected via ethernet I have full control and can connect via SMB, SSH and FTP with no problem; but it seems that the RPi can't see the USB shared internet.
Have you tried the easy connect addon?

Question: why not just get a cheap, tiny wifi dongle and use the wifi hotspot on the phone to share the connection that way? Seems much easier...the dongle I use is this one:
Edimax EW-7811UN Wireless N 150Mbps USB Nano Adapter 802.11b/g/n abgn with EZmax
It's a plug-and-play item fully compatible with the Pi (meaning, you don't need to configure anything, it just works).

Because I already had the phone. But if this won't work I'll buy a wifi dongle and skip the phone. I just need to connect to the in-house network

Hi, I own a raspberry pi 2 with openelec (latest version available installed) and it is connected through an ethernet cable to my netgear dgn1000.
Every time I power on my rpi, Internet connection crashes in loop. I don't know how to solve this problem, nobody on the web is facing with this.

OpenELEC development is almost dead, all devs exept 1 moved on to LibreELEC, try that instead.
