Need final/terminal Stock Firmware for T879 Please - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note

hi folks. time to let go of my Galaxy Note [1] T-mo so I need to return to stock.
I checked the below thread "Goodies" [thank you OP!] which was valuable to many of us but the links are old and invalid. To be honest, I've been non-standard so long I'm not really sure what the final image was from Sam/T-mo, but I think:
PDA T879UVMA1
CSC T879TMBMA1
if someone could kindly point me to a link of the image I think I can get the rest done.
thanks

Moved to Q&A.

Need Stock firmware
Hello fellow android enthusiasts.
I have an SGH-T879 stuck in a boot loop and am looking for any version of the stock firmware so I can reflash the device thru Odin.
Samware links are dead and so are the ones I could find on XDA.
Any help will be appreciated.
What would happen if I flash the ATT version as a last resort only?
Thank you

I think I got it here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note-/SGH-T879/

the AT&T one will work, but without T-Mo features, chief one being wifi calling which works flawlessly on that device. otherwise good to go

[Q] Need Galaxy S telstra firmware/rom

Hi there if anyone could help me out im trying to locate the stock galaxy s telstra rom i done a back up of mine before i started playing around and some how managed to get a virus on my pc and lost everything including my backup i would really appreciate any support you all have to offer as for my wife wants the standard software back on her handset thanks for your time.
Stock telstra right?
The best place to find australian firmwares, telstra in particular, is whirlpool. XDA seems to ignore us
Go to the whirlpool thread "Stock I9000T Telstra Rom". There are links there from me as well as links to Doc Dan's hosted JH3. I would give a link but... my post count >.>
I highly recommend you use Doc Dan's files! I posted some, asked for feedback and never received it :/ Thats after 50+ downloads too
This is the stock 2.1. Havent seen DVJP8 yet. Coincidentally, does anyone know how to get/create these flashable ROM's? im sure people would like JP8 available for reflash instead of JH3, and samfirmwares doesn't have OUR JP8. Or OUR JH3 even. (samfirmwares.com: ignoring the telstra galaxy S even moreso than XDA developers )
Telstra is 2.2.1 now
Modem it comes with is DVJP9
Recommend it over 2.1 anyday
I recommend following my guide on how to upgrade to a custom rom
Stock is a waste of time

Network roms are only available if a user saves them and uploads them or at least shares .Most users do not bother so XDA never gets them .
Likewise unless the firmware is available from a user that has downloaded it Samfirmware cannot get a copy .
Both XDA and Samfirmware rely on you the user to supply the base roms they have no secret source of roms .

Thats fairly understandable
May i ask how this is done? all ive seen is system dumps, which i understand are useless for anything 'cept custom rom development
Either backing up rom through one of the apps available or saving a downloaded rom via Kies .Dont know if the spoof Kies method below still works .

Gday thanks for all your replys I have found a few links at whirlpool forum unfortunately there all no go anymore and I have tried the spoof method with no such luck either the reason I need the original telstra firmware is my touch screen is playing up and I was going to reload the original firmware and see if I can get it fixed under warranty as for its only about 4 months old I have tried other firmware and still have the same problem with the touch screen

Search for the thread "Stock I9000T Telstra Rom" on whirlpool. It should have posts that are both good. JH3 in zip folder is unpassworded, the .rar has asgardxda as the password as stated in the aussie firmwares thread (it is where i got a copy from). Also im pretty sure doc dans also works, there is a link at the bottom of that thread. I would LOVE to post direct links for you but my post count angers the xda
I certainly know mine (listed under "Orenthi", old screen name i would like to phase out / kill with fire) are still up and running. Over 50 downloads and not one bit of feedback XD. If it is bricking or failing to work i would love to know...
Anyways, i saved a kies downloaded ROM today, telstra JP8. Thanks JJEgan for the assistance in that . Seems right, slighly larger than telstra JH3, has all the files as seen in JH3 and no dbdata so like JH3 it isnt a full ROM (was expected). How would one make this odin flashable by the way? is it as simple as making it .tar.md5 and what application is recommended by xda for this?
edit: scratch that, have uploaded jp8. Tested it on my phone too!
Link can be found on whirlpool thread Samsung GT-I9000 series Aussie Firmwares, p10, 13th post hope it works for everyone else
Oh and apparently xda likes to know bootloader status. it takes the phone from 2e recovery to 3e recovery so ill go out on a limb and say does include bootloaders
Gday mate thanks for the firmware downloaded it this am and installed it straight up via Odin works like a charm 10/10 for your help and support

[Q] Where is the branded firmware?

In other device forums there's generally a list of branded ROMs, but I can't find one for the Galaxy Tab. Can someone point my eyes in the right direction please?
Thanks
Just to be clear, I'm specifically looking for Orange UK.
You have a tab? There goes the neighbourhood....
Have you tried samfirmware.com our whatever it is..
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
Hello mate. I've actually been here a while - just keeping quiet
I've had a look on Samfirmware and it's got all the stock firmware you could wish for, but I can't find the branded ones. There is a section titled "Provider Firmwares", which suggests branded to me, but it doesn't mention any providers, either by region or name so it's no use to me.
Your best bet is to ask a member with a stock Orange tab for a rom dump. There are threads that give instructions for creating the rom dump, for example, the Rotohammer back up steps. Then you flash the stock rom with odin3.
Do you need the entire rom, or are you looking for specific Orange apps?

I do need the entire ROM, rather than just apps, as I'm looking to flash it back to exactly as it was when I got it. I'm gonna give up soon, but thanks for the suggestion about asking someone for a ROM dump. I think I'll leave it for now, but may start begging for it soon

Help with clean GB base?

hi all
i've done a relatively thorough search in the time i've had this morning... I'm helping a friend with her new SGS.. before i screw her over i wanna find a clean GB rom that she can Odin in case something goes wrong.. I have 2 on my computer, but i cannot find one online?! I must be looking in the wrong places...
Anyways, please can someone direct me to a clean odin-flashable GB ROM that does NOT require the phone to be running any specific build before flashing?
Many thanks

I would suggest building one for her in the ROM Kitchen. I think a CWM flashable ROM would be a better safety net then having to go back into Odin.
You can get most (if not all?) of the official and 'leaked' firmware from samfirmware.com
But since they are the stock rom, they are bundled with crap like alkido etc.

thanks guys..
@Fallen.. i want to stay away from having to do adb stuff, since neither myself or the friend i am helping (over skype only) are familiar with adb.
@rschenck.. i'm familiar with RK, but have never flashed anything from them... can i just cook a random ROM on their website and flash it onto an SGS without fulfilling any requirements?
@chanw4.. samfirmware... could work - i'm in cape town, south africa... which region should i download?
thanks again peeps

[Q] I am a newbie, who wants to flash my Galaxy s vibrant GT-I900m

I have a Galaxy s GT-I9000m using the bell network. I been stuck with android 2.3.3 for over a year now.
I have been doing research and am finding it difficult to find a good source of information.
Mainly looking for the latest and most stable version of gingerbread. Also want to get rid of bloatware.
If someone can point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful
Thanks in advance.

Welcome!~ Let me tell you it'll get frustrating at first, but if you have patience and are willing to put in some time to learn things you will no doubt be amazed at what you can do.
I had a similar issue a while back and I started a thread, which blew up with information, so I suggest you look through there as it has useful tips from some really great members about what you're looking for. I see you're looking to upgrade from 2.3.3. The latest in my thread is version 2.3.6 and that one is great. Try that out first and when you're ready I suggest moving onto Cyanogenmod 7.1 as it's based on the latest Gingerbread build 2.3.7
Good luck! Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375971
this thread is useful i reckon. good luck.

Thanks,
Does my phone have to be unlocked? It if so the only way to unlock that I've seen is to use another sim card.
No, your phone does not need to be unlocked.
I'm currently running the JW1 (2.3.6) ROM that was released at the end of January with the Bell phone and modem files.
See post #9 in the thread pk1025 linked to.
It discusses and visually displays how to take pieces of different ROMs and install them on a Bell GT-i9000m phone.
It talks about installing JVT, but the same thing applies if you wish to install JW1 or the JVU value pack version discussed here.
Thanks alot the process is making alot more sense.
What's the most current stable version of 2.3.6. and where do I get it from?

[Q] Help this complete Tab Newbie

Good evening all,
My Christmas present to myself arrived a bit early. Its a used Galaxy Tab 1000!!
It is running the Froyo 2.2 and when it boots up at some point it displays "Orange". I put my own sim (not Orange) first it says you cannot use your sim card, then i went to settings and enabled voice and it seems to be working.
Ideally i would like to install MIUI onto my tab, as I was using MIUI on an my HTC Desire and I was very happy with it.
I looked through the forum and i read the newbie guides and after some stress i managed to root it using z4root. (First i try with the Superoneclick but it stuck on step 7)
Now i am trying to install the MIUI but in most guides i saw it says i must to have gingerbread, but i dont know how to get there, and i dont want to destroy my Tab. I was saving my money for many days to get it.
Can somebody help me to get to MIUI?
Thanks
The Tab is still a pretty useful device! It's a P-1000, not one of the other versions? In that case it's best to install Overcome. It's a great way to put GB on a Tab. Look for one of priyana's posts, he has links to instructions and the files you'll need.
I just saw one of priyana's posts. That link should be this thread.

Hi ableeker and thanks for responding. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I have read so many posts these past few days and it gets a bit confusing. I will study the post you suggested carefully and i will ask any questions there...
To answer your question it is a GT-P1000 (it says so on the back) and i bought it used from Austria (ebay). It is Orange branded (indicated by Orange logo splashscreen at startup and shutdown).
In the about phone screen i get the following information:
Model Number: GT-P1000
Firmware Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: P1000BVJI3
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.BVJJ2
Ideally i would like to know whether the fact that this device is branded means that i have to use a different / adjusted process to install Overcome. But i will also ask this question in the post you pointed out to me.
Thanks once again for responding!
