Hey everyone. I'm just letting you all know about this app I wrote for Android. Its called "Goonchie Blunch" and right now its like 5th on the list of Just In - Games. It just plays some drum-set sounds. If you click start, then click to the beat at least 8 times, the beat will loop by itself and you can continue to play drums. I think its a lot of fun. I put on a music app and some song I enjoy, then try to match the beat of it as I play the drums too. Well you should all download it and tell me what you think, oh and give it a 5 star rating.
EDIT: Already on version 9 in 2 days! Now it works on Droid, still unsure for Vogue 240x320... Volume works, no crashes! And there are now preview images before you download it. Search the market for "Blunch", it should be the only one that comes up.

Is it free?
does it support small screens?
Yes its free. I paid a $25 developer's fee to publish a free app, but to publish paid apps I think you need to pay like a thousand bucks.
As for the small screen, I programmed the layout using density independent pixel spacing, which means it should all fit on the screen. I tested it on my Vogue 320x480, and the Droid, but not 240x320. Someone can tell me how it looks 240x320 possibly?
One review up so far says its too laggy, but really they are buttons and a button is activated not when you press it but when you release. This should help the timing of the beat! I'm considering changing it so as soon as you touch a button, the sound plays, because that would be quicker.
Bumpity bump bump. Anyone out there willing to take the time and review my app on the market? I sure would enjoy it, plus I'm looking for ideas.
Pretty disappointed after picking up my gear last week. I'm going to give it a month before I dump mine for sale if they don't start putting out useful apps for it. Seems like half the stuff is pushed out with bugs and semi working or not working at all. Half the apps in the store (gee there really isn't much) hang on install, fail to work correctly or are just junk that you don't need. Is it really that hard to offer an app that would let you read your full email body on it, or an app that would give you facebook updates on it without reading them on the phone, or a watch making app that actually tells time and doesn't lock up 4 times a day? Samsung should just change its name to the Galaxy gear beta edition. I understand the 30% return rate on them now after owning one.

I don't really get where people find the time and energy to post like this. Get a refund and move on with your life, already.
The galaxy gear is awesome (and so is the pebble, the sony smartwatch, etc. Can't wait to see what Google and Apple do)
Samsung has really knocked this out of the park and showed us the potential of wearables - probably better than anyone - and how they're so obviously going to be the future.
Samsung has been innovating incredibly well lately. I really hope Microsoft/Google/Apple up their game and keep up!
Well...it is indeed lacking a lot of features that should be there right out of the box but I am sure you have done your research before you bought the watch. I did do my research and I am quite happy with the watch. I wouldn't buy it at $300 but at $210 with tmobile discount 30% off, this is not a bad buy at all.
I never once had a problem with installing apps from Samsung app store. Their selection is really small and apps are not that great but it never hang or fail to install for me. You can also sideload apps as long as they don't require access to internet if you don't mind some extra steps of installing.
Reading email would be a nice thing but I don't see myself using the tiny screen to read email. I would rather want to do it on the phone.
Facebook update sure would be nice.
Never lock up 4 times a day but then I don't use watch styler app or custom face.
Also please try the ATN app. It helps with all the notifications that I need the watch to show such as whatsapp and whatever others app you might need.
Could it be better ? Sure. Will it get better? Of coarse it will !
There's nothing BETA about it, its simply a new consumer product which hasn't boomed yet.. once the developers gain interest you can bet your ass your going to see some amazing stuff from the gear.
Anything Samsung related on the watch works extremely well, could they have included additional features sure. But why would they ? Its a Samsung device providing support with Samsung products/applications straight out of the box.
All the things listed can be easily resolved via software updates, or third party software. Eg. ATN.
Any complaint you have about the gear will have the same complaubt about the new sony smart watch. Its new. Do your homework before you buy something.

Eh, I love mine (got the 30% off deal) but I agree with the OP and am disappointed with the small amount of apps in the Samsung store... and at least half of it is junk. A big reason for that is because Samsung is being weird about releasing the SDK to the public, I wish they'd get on with that soon. Though I think (I hope) the situation will get a lot better soon when they release official updates for S3, S4, Note2 to make them compatible with the Gear.
I have to disagree with the OP. The gear is amazing. I don't have problems installing apps and I think some of them are pretty good like watch styler. The only thing I don't like about the gear is that it doesn't show notifications for third party apps and I hope Samsung releases an update enabling notifications for all apps.

The Galaxy Gear is ready for Prime Time.
I love my Gear.
Has all the Apps I want.
Anybody that takes the time to find this forum should know,
You do not have to get all the Apps from the Samsung Store.
A member of XDA has a solution for notifications, many people use it and like it.
Do not know about facebook, could care less about facebook.
Sounds like the OP thinks the device replaces a smartphone,
A smartwatch tells you at a glance if the message you get is worth pulling your smartphone out.
Who other than the OP, has every had any problems with the Gear Locking up?
Who other than the OP can not find a way to tell time with the Gear?

I LOVE my gear watch
For me SVoice/Phone integration/Camera is what makes this watch, and also of course the notifications. Really don't care about apps (Although Tripit, Evernote and MyFitnessPal are nice).
It's like google glass on your wrist!
eing able to reply to messages by voice from my wrist in the car is awesome. I never hear anyone talk about these great features when they are griping about the watch.
Hi . that's a shame you are disappointed. What colour did you get.

Well lets see....
Cant even hear a call unless your in a quiet room
Cant reply to a txt with s voice unless its dead silent or s voice gets it wrong
Facebook app turns your phone settings so it speaks every stupid thing its doing
watch making app STILL locks up daily your clock
every other day updates to gear manager trying to fix something without a update list to give you a clue
installing apps hang alot
some dont work or give you just a blank watch face when you try to open them
Guess all the posts in the gear forum are made up
I quit flashing roms and tinkering since my HTC MDA days, I just want a product that works out of the box I guess
Every review is the same.. so so on it. Return rate is high also. The few that love them, great, tinker away with yours. When I can read my 3rd party apps emails, pick from 100s and 100s of apps maybe Ill dig it. Till then its a beta toy as far as im concerned. i knew it when i got it just didnt expect it to be this crappy I guess.
I'd like to know how many of the returned watches are due to either people not usually wearing a watch or because it wasn't compatible with their device
I've not had any of the problems mentioned here (mind, I didn't use watchstyler). Mic and speaker seem fine to me
Hardly any apps these days mention what has changed between versions so can't see that being a negative. Having to reset every time there is an update sucks though (however, the restore thing seems to go ok for the most part)
I just want my notifications to give more detail - mms to show pic, email to display html, sms/facebook/etc not be limited by character limit. It's all very possible going on the evidence
Couldn't care less about apps. Good to be able to sideload though

I'm loving my gear but can also appreciate where the OP is coming from. In the main I think the gear lives up to its expectations ax far as I am concerned.
The biggest issue I have is the lack of water resistance, and how it handles facebook notifications. I am hoping though that this thing gets better as time moves along. It does worry me however that work on the Gear 2 will already have started and we will end up with a non supported device quite quickly.

you have to be blind to call Gear a decent product. they had a great idea, but the execution is terrible and you may disagree with that, but you are lying to yourself. this needs so much work to become a decent product.

Seems like you got a beef with the apps. Not the phone. You keep talking about bad apps, or not enough apps. Well they were selling out in my area, and I got mine on discount. Found out they were selling fast on Ebay. Purchased a couple more at discount, sold them for a profit. It seems like a lot of people think differently than you. We all understand this is a FIRST, you didn't expect this to first run to be PERFECT did you...
BTW, I am a layman, don't know JACK-CHIT, to be honest. I got the Note 3 on a humble, and since I was way over my head with the Note 3, I might as well go all the way..Got the Gear at $209.. Happy Camper...

Hey guys,
My G Watch R is showing up tomorrow. Getting really excited. Been tracking it since it left South Korea on Thursday. It's in Memphis, TN right now. On it's way to Vancouver, BC.
I have put a few watchfaces and apps on my Google Play Wishlist that I want to load on the watch immediately.
Does anyone have any suggestions for watchfaces or apps to use on the watch?
Thanks!
My favorite watch face so far is Pujie Black. As far as apps, wear mini launcher is a must in my opinion. I also really like using IFTTT.

This is my favorite watch face as well. It's nice because you can still really read the time when a notification is blocking the hands.
Am playing with Intellicom WatchFaces (no affiliation ) and I love it! Almost all WatchFaces have an "oled compatible" ambient mode and look great on the LG.
Didn't know the program till today and I'm also using facer and watchmaker but with those it was a hit and miss with lg r friendly ambient modes.
You can try it for free.
Let me know what you think of it.
Haha, reading the text I wrote it feels like an advertisement but I'm just sharing my enthusiasm
I agree. Been using Intellicom WatchFaces for a little bit now and find it easy and intuitive. It could use a few tweaks and fixes but so far it works very well.
Also get Facer and Watchmaker. Having all 3 allows you to get the best of the best.
I have all three and I would agree that Intellicom is the best. On a side note, I got this watch for Christmas and gave my pebble to one of my sons. Don't miss the pebble in the least. I did have to download "Vibration Notification"app so that I could feel my work email/appointment notifications more easily. Battery is usually between 25 and 40% when I go to bed so I'm happy.
It's the best atm for me too.
PUJIE APP
i use this one. Is great

Currently switching between these (the ones from creator Tuwak):

They look amazing on the LG.

When it says OLED compatible, that mean it changes places every minute the watch?

If the watch is in ambient mode the picture will shift, no matter what's on it.
With OLED compatible I mean two things:
1. Not to bright parts in ambient mode.
2. The ambient mode consists of mostly "thin parts", so when shifting the pixels will shift to black.
If you don't understand my excellent explanation , just check the burn-in threat in the general forum.
Based on the feedback from this thread I downloaded, tested and purchased this app. I've built what I consider to be the most useful and battery friendly watch face as it doesn't use white/blue colours (red and green LEDs use less power) and I'm getting 3% battery drain per hour.
If anyone has paid for the app, please consider downloading my watch face (battery epicness) from the gallery. It's not perfect just yet and I'm already on a v2 which removes some of the tiny issues (the word Wednesday was slightly out of the screen) and for anyone who wants a good mixture of useful info and battery savings this is a must.
If anyone would like me to share the v2 which is slightly better then please let me know.
Sure. Please kindly do share. I'm also heavily invested in Intellicom Watch Face and have what I consider an awesome looking face on at the moment...black background, with red and grey indicator colouring for time, date, day, battery level, month...
Please can you share a direct link to the app on Play? I can't find it by searching...

If searching for Intellicom Watch Face doesn't bring any results then it's probably not available in your country.
If you do happen to find it, you can gain access to the watch gallery once you've paid for the in-app purchase.
I am unable to find the download button in the gallery on my Note 4, I did purchase the premium. I looked in the FAQ section for the Intellicom app and found the alternate url but I still do not see a download button. If I go to it on my computer I do see it but if I download it on my computer how do I go about getting it on my phone to my watch? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Nevermind, I realized I could email a the file to myself and it automatically launches the app. Hope they get the app for the phone fixed as it's a little annoying to have to go through a computer and email it to myself.
Sorry for all the posts but quick update. I emailed them yesterday and they got the issue fixed, now you can download within the app. Nice to see they are on top of things.
Hi,
i've bought many faces apps (pujie, facer, intellicom, watchmaker etc...), but watchmaker is best for me

I retired my G Watch and got the R a couple days ago and I am loving it. I'm also using Intellicom but this one is always a fallback one for me when I am outside and active. Looks great on both my watches and t's always very easy to see.

I love Intellicom. I just downloaded it, modified an existing one and uploaded it via their page.

I bought the premium app but after I flashed my phone I couldn't find it on google play no more. Does any one has the apk that wants to share it? Thanks.
I have been using LG G Watch R for over two months and it's time to bring you my detailed review of the device.
Note: There is an error in the video when talking about music playback. The LG G Watch R can in fact play back presynched music from Play Music app.
Timeline:
00:00 Intro
00:14 Design
01:23 Specification

03:07 Android Wear - What can it do?
05:24 Battery life
06:00 Conclusion
Thanks for the review. It is well made but I have some observations. I hope you can accept critics as well as the good words
1. The watch BODY is made out of steel but the screen bezel/lip is aluminium all the way.
2. When you make a review, it is better not to put obvious bias in the conclusion. I think is inappropriate to say that smartwatches are useless and so. It is just "not right".
I do agree that android wear is not polished enough and has a lot of room for improvements but from there is a long way to say it's useless for delivering notifications. THAT'S THE MAIN POINT of a smartwatch like this: an extension of a pre-existing main device/phone These are the specs, that is what you are buying in the first place. The heart monitor, barometer and compass are just add-ons to the main purpose: an extension of the main phone.
Please don't take it personally but I honestly think that a review should be as neutral as possible, not biased by personal preferences.
Just another point: The watch does have a pedometer. It counts my steps quite accurately without the use of my phone.
I'd also disagree on the unintuitive menu comment, but then again I don't install any apps apart from Fit, I have a phone for those.
I like my watch because I think it's cool, it shows my text messages, emails and notifications, and lets me keep my phone on silent which is perfect at work as it allows me to escape the office to answer it without taking the phone out of my pocket, or just ignore the call if it's someone I don't care about. Amazingly it also gets me to do more exercise as I try to do at least 5000 steps per day.
Yes, you can buy a phone for the price of the watch, but that's not the point of it.
One thing I don't really use? Voice recognition. Only ever use it for navigation, and then maybe once a month.
