Install Paranoid Android from 2.3.6

Hi, Im trying to install PA but I get an errormessage saying :
Installing update...
set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in mnt/sdcard/bluetooth/pa_galaxysmtd-1.99_13august2012.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
Im running 2.3.6 with latest SpeedMod.
I cleared cache and did factory reset.
Any advice ?

Wich recovery do you use?
I think stock (background is android out a box)

Put on SD and install it. Reboot phone and then you can install any rom u want!

[Q] GT-S5300b Root Problem

Hello guys, i have a Gt-S5300b (galaxy pocket)
I'm trying to root it, i followed the guides here and from other sites but i always get an erro message when i try to apply the update.zip ( i tried many files from different sites), i even tried to apply from CWM but it didn't work.
Can any help me?

Just rooted a Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300B using Root_Cori.zip - did not work on the first attempt because the updater sript does not have GT-S5300B just GT-S5300. You have to open Root_Cori.zip file and navigate to /META-INF/com/google/android/ directory. Open the updater-script file and add GT-S5300B to assert lines:

Save the updater-script file, cose the Root_Cori.zip and copy it to your phone.
Maybe we had the same problem. If that is the case then this shold work.

[Q] I can't install ViperOne6.2.

Hi here, my device is 901s. well when i try to install ViperOne 6.2 which i download with 1.27GB zip, its run AROMA installer as well. I done with my selection wipe all data & choose ViperOne with some Apps... begin installing...
but installation wizard seems didn't do anything to me & shown the installation successfully message immediately. below is the log file i saved, please help to see whats going on? i did with cwm6.0.4.5, twrp 2.6.0.0 & 2.7.0.0 recovery but still the same thing happen.

Maybe because the ROM is for HTC One, not Butterfly S?

SKU is coming up blank which is causing a lot of errors.

I checked my logs after a bunch of things failed and my SKU is coming up blank!

How can I make it WW again... this is causing me an impressive amount of problems.

Happened then as well. However currently it is happening with the stock ROM that I restored after getting rid of the custom ROM
Let me also give a background. I was on CM13, went to go update got an error saying I needed to update my firmware in order to install. So I tried a crap ton to get stock roms to install, didnt work (SKU was blank). So I restored my original/stock rom which would not restore the data.

I am having the same issue. I have tried and fail many times to install UL-Z00T-WW-21.40.1220.1615-user.
Always with Error 7
Right now I am stuck in fastboot with no access to recover other than fastboot boot twrp.img
However when I try to reinstall lollipop It fails with another error

Okay so a guy on Reddit told me that errors dont mean anything, you need to look at the logs and see what caused them which is done by the recovery log.
And if you have TWRP recovery on there try to flash CM12 for the zenfone. CM13 flashes for me but randomly/constantly reboots

**** that looks like you are doing CM13 and it is telling you your firmware is out of date.
So it wants you to flash the latest stock firmware.... but you and I are in the boat were our phones wont let us do that. Dude I do not know

me either, tried updating the updater-script and all but to no avail

Is your phone on Android 5.0.2?
I was trying to find ROMs that fit that version. There are definitely other custom roms then just CM

Fruitless! Download the CM13 nightly from june 14th!
Dont do the most recent.
Edit: I know this sounds sketchy and or stupid but I have a cm13 rom from june 14th that I downloaded then, it works. The CM13 from then that I downloaded today did not. I can see about uploading the one that did work if the one you download doesnt work.

Back Story:
Due to a frozen OS (back /home /swipe down for notifications etc.) and bazaarthings happen with the sound settings rendering my device unusable I've had to dabble with it for the first time.

My first fix attempt was the "restore system from backup" option from the recovery menu, but alas a missing backup image... fail one...
Also note worthy is that my menu has less options than most screen shots I've seen on youtube etc.
menu options:
>reboot system now
>update system/mcu image from /sdcard
>recovery system from backup
Failing to find the original image anywhere, I went with malask latest ROM that looked likely to work on my device ( from what I have read here a massive upgrade anyway! )
However it is not going so well:
Attempt 1:
Pop update.img + mcu.img (kgl1 1.77) on empty SD card in gps slot
result:

The rock chip Android Flash tool

Are you certain this is a 3188 device? possibly a 3066.
And you don't need to flash mcu each time. Id stay clear of mcu. It may be the problem.

I think I got the rk3188 bit off of the original advert 2 years ago...
I will go hunting rk3066 firmwares and give them a go

Now successfully on standard Kit Kat
Crazy sound seams fixed by OS update!
However, still no touch response along the Android bar so can't use home / back / swipe down for notifications
For now will install a " button saver " app
Probably will end up installing a custom ROM and read up on peoples hardware button remapping attempts
