Hey guys ive been trying to get all i need to flash xxjpy firmware just one question?
i saw (by complete accident i might add) a guide to ''how to flash with odin'' and the guy or whatever said i need an unlocked sgs - simlock free phone as it wer, is that true? Mine is a branded vodafone 100% locked on it. Will something unspeakable happen if i try to flash it this way? (Brand new phone so im kinda nervous)
Any help may be exchanged for sexual favors xD
ps: Only hot women are elligible for the above
It's probably safer to unlock your phone before you flash it using ODIN, for obvious reasons..
P.S. I pass on thy offer.
EDIT: To unlock your phone, try this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
So i should unlock then flash with odin......ok
one last questio Is it a permanent unlock or is it more like the iphone ultrasn0w type of deal? which needs to be unlocked everytime you update/restore?
Might be easier just to reg hack kies to get xxjpy?

which rom version are you on now ? you can always get the same version from samfirmware.com(you need to sign up to d/l the firmware) that your currently on.
If you really need to back up your rom then you'll need ROM manager & the phone needs to be rooted as well, the easiest way is to use One click root.
You don't need to have an unlocked/unbranded phone to use odin, you just need to have kies installed for the usb drivers & for kies to be exited whilst using odin.
Here is a pretty good guide for how to use odin, take you time read it throughly, make sure you understand it & remember your doing this at your own risk

Thanks With this im all set right? If for any reason i have to take it to the store for repair or whatever
Well ive done it sgs is stuck on the blackscreen right after booting animation GAAHHHH
Ok so I over wrote the boot partition and my at&t note 3 is pissed. Its a long story as to why. I tried to re-flash the De La Vega file using oden, but when it reboots goes to a triangle screen saying that i have system software not authorized.
Not worried about warrenty. Just need to get phone going again. I realize how dumb it was to try and replace the boot, but I didn't realize it was going to straight lock me out.
How can I kick this into a mode where I can fix it.
Thanks in advance!

If you grabbed the official file for odin it wouldn't be saying that, or at least on prior devices that was the case. I can't imagine it to be any different for your phone.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find an Official Stock odin file for the N900a.
I don't need the phone to be 100 functional. What would happen if I flash the stock tmo rom on an n900a?
Thanks

I wouldn't flash the tmobile firmware. So you already tried flashing the one click odin file from the root de la vega?

if i have tiome b4 i sleep, ill upload the odin zip to restore to stock. you might ask design_gears to give you the link to download it or ms Kraz.
DO NOT flash a tmo rom. u will permanently brick your device,

Thanks for the help guys. I guess somewhere in the beginning of all this I had found the custom one click. Its running now. I saw it reflash the stock boot.img, so we shall see. I had tried the de la vega 2x. Every time it rebooted it tossed the AT&T message up and I was screwed. COuldn't even adb to the phone.
I'm hoping i can find a way to get a custom service to load on this stupid phone. Any ideas? That's actually what I was trying to do with the boot.img originally was load a custom init.rc
UPDATE: No longer locked out. The one click fixed. THANKS!!! Stupid me...
Thanks again.

no big deal though. Hopefully someone will unlock the bootloader so I can flash my custom kernel and all will be well. In time I guess.
Thanks

Does anyone know which version of Odin should I install to pull the firmware from the phone?
I wouldn't even attempt to flash anything at all unless you know for sure that it will work on our device.

Yes, flash this using Odin's PDA slot (AP in Odin v3.09+): G900A_NCE_Stock_Modem.tar.md5
Once again keepin up the magic. here's the stock files for the Cricket S6 so now you can go bug the developer of pingpong root to include support for your phone.

yes use to unroot
Is the Cricket version ROM better in any way than the AT&T version? Maybe much less bloat? AT&T's crap is just ridiculous.
Does this flash on AT&T version too? I might go to Cricket after a month or two as AT&T is just too expensive.

I don't know if its any better but I can confirm it doesn't have all the ATT bloatware which is a plus.
I just flashed this to an AT&T S6 using odin and it flashed fine and seems to be working great.
Device Status: Official
Update: I can also confirm that I was able to root with pingpong root with this rom

Thanks for the update. I have AOE2 version right now with most bloat removed, but the phone feels it's slower than before. Opening task switcher takes about 1 second to load up. Of course the battery life is better and doesn't heat up as much as the pre-AOE2 version. I didn't try the Cricket ROM, but I may try it in the future.
Doesn't Cricket lack voice over LTE though?
since we have the cricket version , im pretty sure were not getting android M update seeing as s5 and s4 still haven't gotten the lollipop OTAs on cricket. any way around it or maybe we can just flash the international 5.2 version?

Have you tried it? I'm getting a Cricket S6, but it's unlocked, and I'm using it on AT&T, and I'm considering trying this.
I have a g920i that I am using on cricket. Does anyone know if this odin will flash on that model?
Thank you for this, my phone is up and running again after about a week of it being bricked. I only have 2 issues. First, my galaxy is not recognizing my sim card.. second, I get this pop up saying "unfortunately, IMS Service has stopped" which pops up every second or 2. My phone is basically unusable, ive tried reflashing stock firmware again and it just comes up again. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Could installing the Cricket bootloader on the AT&T variant unlock it like the Cricket version?
Also: Does anyone know if it is possible to install the AT&T G920A or Cricket G920AZ firmware to an AT&T G925A edge version? Basically, if you don't care to have the edge functionality would it work?
I found my answer to the second part:

Ok so just double checking... which file are you supposed to run and open in Odin? Isnt it the AP file?
There is an update from 7-15-15. The newest firmware is: G920AZTUU2AOF3
Has anyone taken the update?
Description: 129.10MB
-Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock enhancements
-Android OS security enhancements
If I'm not mistaken, isn't the OF3 update, the one that does not have root? And there is currently no way to downgrade after taking it?

I am not sure. I haven't tried it to see. I'm actually running Xtrestolite right now on my G920AZ. I ended up having to flash back to stock at one point and noticed the update.
There is probably a difference between the G920A update and the G920AZ one that I was referring to.
