A little help please - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys so I am new to the forums and I am having an issue. I am on the latest developer preview and it is rooted but when I call out I have no dial tone and I can't hear anything. The permissions are all set for the dialer and contacts and when I am off Wi-Fi I do have LTE signal and my texts to come through and said but the dial tone for calling. If anyone can help me that would be amazing. I am on the Verizon network in the United States in case anyone was wondering

Honestly I am a bit confused.
There isn't any Dial Tone, when a cell phone is used. You dial the number, or select the contact, you wish to call and tap the Call or Send button.
If, however, you are talking about the ring out tone that is heard when you are calling someone, then that is a somewhat common problem, that happens occasionally. It is usually caused by the cellular connection being weak between and the person who are calling.

I actually fixed this by flashing just the radio image through TWRP and just to make sure I didn't have any freezes or boot loops I reflash the bootloader as well

Number of rings before phone stop ringing ?

Hello,
i'd like to know if it's possible to set up (and how?) the number of rings (or vibration..) when income calling, before the phone stops ringing! ?
Thx
its a network setting resident in the call divert settings
phone-options-services-call forwarding-get settings-under 'forward ph calls only if no answer-time'
you can set the time(no. of secs) to ring b4 the call is cut/transferred.
you can increase the time that the phone rings, before the call is diverted to answerphone or whatever you may have set up, i think if you go to Phone, and its in the settings for Phone somewhere. I think the maximum is 30 seconds. Works for me on orange dunno about any other networks

Yes thx, i found this option. i try it, and will see.
Thx a lot
Doesn't work for me on Orange. It fails to update the network and keeps asking me to retry. I think it's a PAYG thing. Do I have the strength to call their gormless customer services though...
Edit: I tried calling them and their system kept cutting me off before I could talk to anyone. Useless. Does anyone know the number I can dial to update the network that way please? Thought you could send a code or something.

[Q] Making Calls Over A 4G Network?

So here's my problem: I dont wanna hear that you cant do it, but there has GOT to be a way to make phone calls over a 4G network. I dont care if I have to download an APP, a PROGRAM, or if I have to go MAD SCIENTIST on this thing. Any help you can give me will be GREATLY appreciated and if you could post a step by step guide for people having the same issue then that's even better.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Google Voice doesnt seem to work independently. It doesnt notify you when someone is calling and doesnt seem to have the ability to make outgoing calls.
Tried SipGate but only to find out that they have no more numbers in my area (that was a KILLER)
I'm currently able to make calls on Skype BUT ONLY on a Wi-Fi connection (limited).... I need 4G network calling (everywhere)
Anything you can do guys, this has been a thorn for many people and there arent many things out there that show you how to set it up.

I currently have the sipdroid app, however I have no idea how set it up with the right settings to connect it with my google voice. If you could help me out, I would seriously appreciate that.

Blaze what part of Philly?
Ok so currently I've gotten Sipdroid working and making calls over the 4G network. However, when calling over the 4G network the calls are choppy and full of static to the person on the other end. On my end though, the call is perfectly clear.
I've tried altering the Audio/Video options (turning them all on low, turning them on high), messing with the Audio Codecs (turning them all on NEVER except GSM 13kbit), and turned off the improve audio option. However my calls still remain the same.
Has anybody figured out to completely clear up Sipdroid calls over 4G? Is there any other APP i can download to complement the clarity of the call?
Sipdroid works perfect with google voice. I can make call to any part of the world!!! Hell yesssss!!! You can try. Troubleshoot?? Ask us!!!
Yes, but how are the calls over a 4G network? If they're clear, I'd like to know how if possible.
Does Sipdroid work for making as well as receiving calls over 3G/4G?
Yes, Sipdroid works for me over Tmobile's 4G network, but it sounds choppy to ppl on the other end. Through a Wi-Fi connection though it sounds prefect.
Waiting on Skype personally here. And what was that other program people are talking about? Tango?

any part of the world? I tried to call london and I got a message saying I didn't have enough credits. I think for international calls you have to have $ on your google voice account as it uses GV to make the international call. Unless there is another way
hrm I may have to try sipdroid then. =) Does google talk allow for you to have a phone number like skype does?
not sure this has been answered. but
just tested, I CAN receive incoming calls when my Sipdroid is on (green light) and if anyone calls my google voice number.
i mean, getting everything connected isnt the problem. there's plenty of guides online to help you do that with different apps. my problem is the call clarity over T-Mobile's 4G network when using sipdroid + google voice. On my end the calls are clear and perfect, but when I start talking the listener hears choppy words and static. Does anybody have ANY kind of solution to this issue??? Much appreciated.
blaze, I know you've asked this a bunch of times, so I'll venture a potential solution.
Who's your SIP provider? I've used pbxes and had very clear calls on my Droid, even over 3G. Maybe try changing up your SIP provider.
I can send and receive calls over sip Droid and gvoice. Works perfect on wifi have not tried cell network.
@ Z4nd4r
I use the same thing (sipdroid + pbxes) But I've basically given up on the call clarity over 4G and am looking for a supplemental phone now. It could be the strength of your network. Unfortunately with T-Mobile in Philadelphia on 4G, I'm thinking its just gonna be this way. Unless you have a settings tweak.
can someone post there guide to have this working for everyone
I have the guide and everything...its all set up. My issue is CALL CLARITY. Are you using yours on T-Mobile's 4G network. Cause its choppy as hell when I use it for the person on the other end. Clear for me, Static for them
On Wi-Fi it works fine...on 4G, not so much

[Q] Missing incoming calls

I have the 64GB One DE which I am using on AT&T's network. Yesterday, I was in an area of weak signal and I apparently missed 2 important calls. They did not register as missed calls nor were they in the call history log. I remember something similar happening to my HTC One X + and the solution was to dial *#*#4636#*#* and select USA Band. Should I do the same here or leave it at the default of GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto where it is now? If no one knows for sure, I guess I can just toggle between both and see what happens.

Can't make calls

For some reason I can't make calls. I'm using the stock dialer on a stock rooted ROM (see sig).
I dial a number and it looks like it's working (the call timer starts counting and what not) but it never actually calls. Just silence.
I haven't been able to test receiving calls yet but I did at least get some missed calls earlier when I was away from my phone (it was when I tried to return those calls that I discovered this problem).
I'm on Verizon. I have LTE set as my "Preferred Network Type" in Cellular Settings. Data works fine in both LTE and 3G areas. Texts work fine. Just calling seems broken.
Had anyone seen or heard of this? I searched this forum but didn't find anything.
poor connectivity on WIFI network on nexus 6
I also face the problem if not able to make/receive calls when WIFI network is activated.

Are you on the 98r radio? That's the one that ships with the Verizon branded Nexus devices and is different from the radios in the other 5.1 builds.

G4 sending calls straight to voicemail!

I've made sure that call reject list is set to off. For whatever reason though, when a call comes into my G4, the call app displays for about a second and then it refuses the call automatically causing it to go straight to voicemail. Anybody experience this issue?

I don't have this issue.
1) Is this T-Mobile branded phone?
2) What is the coverage or does this issue occur only in some places?
3) Are the settings correct under "mobile networks"?
4) Is Wifi calling feature is on/off under call settings?

Interesting. I have tested my phone vs 4G and LTE connection, don't have any of your phone issues. Couple of things came to my mind. If your sim card is not fresh, try replacing it or ask a friend if he/she has newer sim card and try to make few calls. Another important thing is VoLTE, it is also in the call options above wifi calling. IF VoLTE is on, try to turn it off and user your phone for a day and see.

I agree with this. I turned off VoLTE and my calling got better.
Sent from my LG-H811 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I tried them all. In the end, I narrowed the issue down to google voice. When I first got my G4 I tried setting google voice to be the primary voicemail service. I'm on a postpaid plan, so there shouldn't have been any issues. Not sure what happened, but it obviously screwed something up. If people call my T-Mobile number directly the call goes through just fine. If they call my GV number, the voicemail picks up just before the first ring on my G4. The caller ID pops up and then disappears as if I touch the decline button. I've tried setting my T-Mobile voice mail back to default and called T-Mobile. The problem is not persistent. It is intermittent.
