This is the successor to my CM12.1 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-pro/development/rom-cyanogenmod12-1-t3318450
Unlike other unofficial CyanogenMod builds, these builds are based off of the stable branch instead of the nightly branch.
ROM features:
Based off latest generic Mokee Project M sources
Kernel features:
Based off latest CAF Marshmallow kernel source from Qualcomm (LA.BF64.1.2.2_RB4.06.00.01.180.046)
Removed lots of excessive bloat
Dynamic CPU input boost driver I wrote myself (makes the phone feel smooth without destroying battery life)
F2FS support
No placebo patches, features, or compiler "optimizations"
Many other misc. improvements not listed here
Source code:
Kernel (cm-13.0 branch): https://github.com/nian0114/android_kernel_xiaomi_leo
Credits:
Mokee and its contributors
CAF (aka Qualcomm)
Open GApps
Installation instructions (for first-time installation):
First, perform a backup of your existing setup, and then perform a clean install (wipe /data and /system; TWRP is recommended). Next, try flashing the ROM and see if it installs; if it installs without any issues then congratulations! Now just flash a Google apps package, and then reboot.

What's up with this ROM, it's official but no bugs have been fixed in recent nighties, just same copy paste build with different date and names.
Earlier we didn't have any options other than MIUI and now every non-miui ROM isnt stable or beta-enough to be used as daily driver

I agree with rshahzad17 !
Yvan aosp : Location not working (but GPS working?) , good performances.
Mokee rom: poor performances (Location working but GPS problem ?)
CM13 rom: poor performances + bugs when wake screen (location ok, not tested GPS)
Nian please fix the cpu in your kernel it seem that the a57 cores of the snapdragon 810 are totally disabled and the a53 cores are downclocked to 960mhz max... heavy tasks are slow :'( also the GPU seem to be set to 180mhz max.. yea at least the phone is very cold.. but...

Yes all of Nain's ROMs have kernel issues, like his 5.1 mokee had all set to max and 6.0.1 mokee set to minimum, then again he locks the CPU clocks unable to be altered with any kernel tool, that is funny actually

yea it's locked it leave us with miui only, but many basics features of android do not work with miui Waiting for new nexus phones...

It's nice to have choice of rom. But I agree, what we have now is loads of non working choice. It would be better to focus on one version and develop it well plus keep it going with regular updates.

Ivan's AOSP 6.6.30 version is almost perfect ! It is incredibly smooth, the battery is great !
The only non-working feature is the GPS though
Sent from my MI NOTE Pro using XDA-Developers mobile app

yea if only there was a way to fix the location problem on yvan rom

That's a major non-working feature, and gapps permissions issue is another major issue, so if Ivan released second build without fixing it, than what's the point !!!

I have installed todays nightly, here's my feedback;
GPS/Location working,
Kernel seems fine now, CPU clocks are set to normal and kernel tools can edit them,
Video recording doesn't work for front and rear with stock camera, but I tried Open Camera app and it works all fine,
Facebook FCs as usual and I don't use Snapchat,
Antutu score is 79k which is far better than MIUI 8 dev latest build which is at 54k.
Overall this ROM is going to right direction !!!

Can you tell us if the duration of battery is fine?
How are CPU clocks and which are the normal values?

I haven't used it for a whole day, so can't tell about the battery, will update about it.
By CPU normal values I meant like in stock rom not like set to max at 920 mhz. Im not expert in it but kernel editor gave me normal min 384 and max 1555 mhz.

nice, it's much better. did you also have a problem with Play store apps sometimes not downloading without to have to relaunch the play stpre ?

I have GPS does not work on the last nightly. More and FC Google play services.
I used nano opengapps too.

yea gps do not work me also so still no usable rom

I'm having a very unusual problem with installing this ROM. I get a screen in Chinese which looks like it wants a password. Have tried several things (including removing the SIM card). Whatever I enter it ends up on another screen with a button which when pressed does nothing. Anyone else have this?? Anyone can translate the text in the attached images?

Nice. Thanks.
This morning I installed Google Now for Arco's CM9 Alpha 7. I am not interested in cards and notifications (as they eat a lot of battery and are laggy) but I am only interested in voice search (kind of cool) so I installed Mikey6_Online package, I disactivated all Google Now options and maps option but it's laggy as well.. If you have any ideas how to make it work smoothly, I'm buying.

A Few reasons:
-Well first, offline package does reduce the lag a bit, try that
-Our kernel of the ICS is not done, i mean the kernel is not finished, so performance can be a question, do to the kernel's config, no-oc, no-ow, etc.
-If you have many processes in background it can cause the lag, in fact it can make a huge lag if you have like 10-15 high process[WebBrowser,Games,Maps,Music Player[Playing ofc], FACEBOOK [This app is the biggest ram, and performance killer], PlayStore]
-Try config the CPU's speed, and CPU governor [Settings - Performance - Processor] and set the CPU Governor to Performance, and min CPU frequency to 368, This will make Google Now work very very Well
I love this. I flashed it over slim ics and works like charm. Thanks.

if i install online package and then find out that indeed is very laggy, how can i install offline package. simply by running the zip file through cwm or i must do something else?
Thanks

Elite Performance

I have spent crazy amount of time tuning my Galaxy S5 G900F running the latest CM13 release with the stable Boeffla kernel and I finally think I totally mastered the performance level at perfect stability without any overheating issues or crashes.
I just got a splendid 64676 score from the latest antutu benchmark! That is way higher than any old 32bit Snapdragon 801 device has ever gotten and the RAM and I/O performance is just ridiculous that beats much newer and more expensive phones.
This is enabling me to play VP9 videos at 1080p completely smooth without any drop in quality or FPS. The best part is that the phone newer overheats or lags. I can run some serious multitasking and download at least 8 files simultaneously from 8 multi-threads at blistering speed including complex merging, decoding and encoding procedures just fine and using the phone for common tasks in the meantime.
For those who want to be able to shoot 60 FPS 720p videos get the Snap Camera HDR app and with correct settings that will be quite possible. Just let me know if you need instructions how to set it up properly.
I included a screen shot of the benchmark score.

i confirm - cm 13 last nightly releases really fast and stable, i try boeffla now
i think it the best performance rom on s5 now
Thanks, I got a s5 a few weeks and didnt know which rom choice. I'll try cm13

Reliability test complete without any notable problems. Ran another antutu test and got 64k again. So now I'll post my setup.
I have a very clean setup of CM13 and chose the Pico Gapps version and also have xposed. So I only have the most necessary apps that I want to use to reduce all weight on the system. I also use the recent apps task killer when ever I'm done with current tasks to free the ram for next use. I hate the low memory killer because it stop certain background processes like arkTube so I put everything down to 5 and use the task killer myself.

I'd rather go with the latest release because there are still few glitches left like soft reboot does not work properly. Use stable kernel for release and beta for nightly.
New high score record for the S5 with the 3.3 kernel running CM13. Going to try CM14.1 next.
Please help I'm a noon
OK so I just read your thread and I wanted to ask a few questions but before that let me explain to you that I'm very new to costum kernel and costum rom stuff. First question what's your best recommendation for the fastest stable rom (currently updated). Second question you said you will go too cm14.1? Will that be a faster and better than the one you metioned in this thread? Third question if this is the best tweak for the s5 may you provide links to the programs you used to do this and possibly a tutorial if not it's cool I'm usually fine doing this kind of things on my own, a little guidance will be helpful though ? Sorry for being a noob but could you please help me out I just rooted my s5 (SM-G900T) and download set cpu but I've read that it won't work unless you have costum rom/kernel and thats why I'm asking for help. Please and thank you.
Great job! Do you use new Adreno drivers or rather stick to the old ones? And, do you have your camera working? I'm trying to replicate your setup and the only thing that bothers me is the camera error....
Im on cm14.1 and got 48470
Enviado do meu SM-G900M através de Tapatalk
And how about battery life? That OC to 2.8Ghz looks like a battery killler (to me at least)
I made sure the setup is totally interactive. It only uses a lot of power when under heavy load. The hardware goes in deep sleep when the phone is not in use.
As you can see in attached screenshots, one third of of the device's on time is in deep sleep. Input boost is on at highest settings and CPU/GPU locked at max frequency when under load so responsibility is quite good. The main power drainer is the screen at high brightness or heavy multi downloads or gaming mostly.
The screenshots. When it goes under heavy load it throttles down and up various frequencies to protect it from overheating. So let's say I download 500 files, 8 files simultaneously by an 8 multi thread method at above 120 Mbits the CPU goes under heavy load, a lot more frequencies would be used because of the throttling.
Here is a link to my Setup Demonstration YouTube video where I show the tweaks I've done to improve the performance of my phone:
I uninstalled the AdClear app because it just was too recourse demanding and network speed trap. Instead I installed the latest version of AdAway and configured it so ads in all the apps including MX Player successfully and free of VPN and system load. I attached screenshot of the configuration.

Hi all.
Compatibility:
Builds starting with r5 compatible with Android Nougat 7.1.1 LineageOS or roms built from LineageOS sources.

From my webserver choose the Kernel with the most recent version number. Older releases for older Android versions are in the parent directory:
https://kernels.franco-lnx.net/OnePlusX/7.1.1/anyKernel/
or from my Updater app. It's just easier and more convenient:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel
Installation:
Flash the zip in your recovery
or
Auto-flash from Franco Kernel Updater app
Features:
1 - Legendary battery life
2 - Flash & forget
3 - Typical interfaces like display adjustments, sound control, vibration control, and all that boring stuff
4 - Idle power consumption reduced to the absolute minimum (if you have wakelocks from 3rd party apps you're obviously on your own)
5 - Support for FKUpdater's Performance Profiles
6 - Magical support, I'm here every day, checking posts almost hourly, ready to help anytime (well, unless you fail to read the OP, which contains most info you need)
7 - Seemless integration with my app FKUpdater
8 - No crap placebo patches, or "magical" optimizations
9 - Probably more, check my github for all the details - the code speaks for itself

Slight OT is fine, but when users decide to act stupid they should be dealt with with the appropriate means - its really annoying for me when OT turns crazy. Please put the warning/ban hammer anytime any of you think there's lack of respect and/or too much unwanted OT crap - but if it doesn't meet this criteria let the OT posts alone. Thank you.
Cheers!
Good to see you around here!
Thought I would add more to this and make it useful for a few users.
The reason behind why Mpdecision is disabled by default is due to the fact that it is highly inefficient in the sense that hotplugging on Linux, put simply, sucks. Why? The hotplug acts as a front-end to the scheduler to provide a means of plugging and unplugging cores in exchange for a high amount of latency. This means that even though a core may be plugged, there is a delay of several milliseconds before this is actually processed causing microstutters that are hard to notice, but do disrupt performance. The same can be said for the thermal driver and how it Aries frequencies.
Now that that is over with, I'd just like to thank Franco. My device has never been faster. Even with an undercooked, it is still performing better than ever. Especially love the ZRAM tweaks, and how you properly configured CPU boost. Some people make it way too aggressive... It's the little things, and the huge steps forward in the source code that make your work so great! Best of luck
My apps have been updated to support the One Plus X too, both free and paid apps.
Damn legendery dev with his awesome kernel is here. Thank you!
Wish you're kernel for CM13/14 [emoji1]
Flash it, all fine, better later than never,
Didn't work for me coming from LOS (17/03/02 build) with Boeffla kernel. Wiped cache and dalvik, flashed fk r1 and bootloop. Phone kept returning to the boot splash screen and then straight to recovery. Looking forward to solving. Thanks for now.
Sorry, I was clearly not fully awake when I posted this. I read OxygenOS and interpreted as LineageOS.
Still, I hope someday we can run FK kernel on LOS.
Thanks anyways.
Omg .....Dream come true....Thank you franco
Thanks for the kernel, Franco!
It's a shame that it only supports OOS.
FYI I installed it on Sultan's CM13 and everything works fine except dt2w. The switch in settings does nothing and there is no switch in Kernel Adiutor. I hope that your kernel will be compatible with CM/AOSP based roms in the future.
Edit: Wifi is also not working.

It's not slow with FK, at all. I made sure of that. There was a specially bad issue that I reported to OP 1 year ago, which makes the device have a gigantic stack of uninterruptible threads after a while on screen off. My record was a load average close to 200, 200, 200 which is insane and destroyed the device's performance. That's fixed on FK. Also all cores are online at all times, there's no need to shut down 2 cores, and mpdecision is disabled so that it doesn't mess with the devices performance.
thanks finally the great franco kernel is here damn really appreciate your work

Hi, I flashed your kernal yesterday, all great and the device is buttery smooth but just one thing I noted. When ever the phone goes into to deep sleep the device doesn't wake up on pressing the power button. Have to restart the phone by long pressing the power button. And I haven't changed anything using the kernal adiutor app, just using your default settings.
Can you kindly guide me if something is wrong from my side. May be if you want a log I'll try to pull out a log tonight.
Thanks alot for your work.

I want performance (GT-i8190)

Dear fellow ROM-lovers
As a looong-time ROM-user, I'm still trying to find thé perfect ROM. I've used a ton of ROM's, some of them are:
STOCK: Project Noble, Virginity, Ronin
KitKat: Omni-ROM, Cyanogenmod, Paranoid Android, SlimRom, pretty much anything popular
Lollipop: Omni-ROM, CyanogenmodI haven't tried out Marshmellow ROM's since it's rather new.
The STOCK-ROM's are obviously the better choice when I'm talking about battery life. I really don't care about customization anymore since I've gotten to the point where only useful things matter on this old s3 mini of mine.
Nooow, to get to the point. I'm looking for the ROM with thé best performance. I don't care if it's a MIUI-ROM or anything else like that, I just want a buttery smooth phone. Ofcourse a decent battery life is kind-of required too. I was told STOCK-ROM's have the best performance in the market, but the 'buttery smoothness' is losing it's potential to be honest. Or I might ask for something that just isn't possible, in that case, I'd appreciate your opinion too.
Now it would be too much to ask for good battery life, good performance and good customization, so I'm only really asking about the first two. I've tried crossbreeder mod, putting scale animations on 0.5 in dev settings, other fly-on mods, but I'm still not really satisfied yet. If you have any other optimization-ideas, let me know.
Chrome and Snapchat are just slow like hell, other apps often take a very long time too , I'm just looking for something I don't know.
If you have any suggestions, I'm excited to hear about it!
Ty!
Edit: I also read something about the influence of governors in performance. What are the best options to go for in this type of customization?
I use Omni lollipop & freeze / delete the stuff i don't want. This gives me good ram & better performance over stock. Best performance use F-kernel but you may need to do the additional instructions in the F-Kernel Q/A thread to get Nova Thor to work. I tried it & got better performance but it was never quite stable enough for me. On FKernal lollipop i had to add the Nova Thor app & add a init.d script granting the Mali folder permissions 755 (see thread).
The issue for me with this device was the memory & multi tasks but with Omni its does the job. Also with stock the cve issues, Omni lolli more upto date.
Oh yeah if you can don't use Gplay as its a hog on older devices, just my 2 cents.

What works well in this ROM is xposed fakegapps and microG instead of gapps
I recommend stock ROM with stock kernel for best hardware compatibility and performance.
I tried several custom ROM but unfortunately (in my phone) there are some incompatibilities with the hardware. Compass is not perfectly working and the most annoying is charging was never complete to 100%. They are also uses more RAM.
I installed custom kernel (3.0.101) on stock ROM and having problem with charging. I think it is a kernel-related issue. So, I revert back to stock kernel (3.0.31) and everything came back to normal.
For better performance, try uninstalling un-needed apps (Samsung and Google apps, including Google Play Services). You can use microG GmsCore to replace Google Play Services. It even has alternative to Network Location. :good: I am also using older version of some apps because it seems to use less RAM than newer versions. Google Play Store is working with microG.
For smoother scrolling, I activate "Force GPU Rendering" in Settings > Developer options. It helps scrolling performance in Contact and Messaging apps a bit.

Yes, sounds like a good idea for speed, but a bad idea for security. Using an outdated ROM, the only protection comes from an uptodate playservices. Microg has no malware protection.

Updated 7/31/2021 rebased on Acuicultor's v2.2.5 rebase (OOS) and rebase_custom (custom ROMs).
[NOTE: Bug reported - with a Magisk Module I created to fix it. For some strange reason (code looks fine), some systems are setting the default GPU frequency to 920mhz and default power level to 0 (max). I have posted a small Magisk Module that waits 5 seconds then corrects these values (295mhz default and power level 8). It's on the GitHub release page - MOD-GPU-Set-Min-Freq.zip. Just install with Magisk Manager as a module / install from storage after downloading.]
This is a tweaked version of RadioActive kernel by acuicultor modded for higher performance and lower idle drain. All source commits and releases are on my GitHub fork:
https://github.com/mrslezak/Radioactive_kernel_oneplus8/releases/tag/v2.2.5-MOD
PLEASE read the Readme as well as the disclaimer. Whenever you flash a custom kernel, you do so at your own risk. I recently rebased on the dev's work (GPU_OC OOS branch, never released) and set the wakelock blocks up myself (lower idle drain, tested over a week with no loss in functionality), dropped the base GPU frequency to 295mhz and raised the top ones (800/920mhz) acuicultor you're an awesome dev, great to have you around! All credits should go to him other than my tweaks.
I also merged all the same changes into the Custom ROM branch which didn't have GPUOC or AdrenoBoost - several people are using it now but it's marked as a BETA since I am on OOS (latest Global) and can't test it myself. NOTE: many people on the TG channel I posted to have tried it and have had no issues on Op8, Op8 Pro, and Op8T.
Note if you are one of the rare people who see artifacts in games or benches, the easiest fix is to go into your kernel manager and set the max GPU frequency to 800mhz and apply on boot. Not all 865 Adreno GPUs are created equal. I haven't seen one that couldn't handle 900mhz to date, but enough people have had no issues at 920mhz so that's where I put it.
Be sure to flash Magisk before installing, then use EX Kernel Manager or FK Kernel Manager to Flash the kernel zip. It has all the same optimizations of RadioActive kernel, just modded for really nice performance and low battery drain. Adreno Boost is set to low on default which makes it react faster as the GPU scales. If you already have Magisk installed, there is no reason to reinstall it - the AnyKernel 3 zip installer will use what's installed already.
I put one out there you can just flash from: fastboot flash boot 4.19.110.RadioActive-WL-295_UC-920-GPU-2.2.5.img (OOS only) as it saved my a$$ a couple times when flashing or trying to apply an incremental update when rooted (no success, although I posted the incremental update on TG, the payload just won't extract properly to update using fastbootd scripts)... Maybe I'll post it here on XDA and see if anyone can extract the latest Op8T update.
Also someone sent me a PM about using KonaBess app to change frequencies even more, or change regulators, or change the DDR clock speeds. Yes, it works. Note you probably should only play with that if you have a fastboot image available in case it doesn't boot! I did just upload one for OOS to the repo as I mentioned above. Be warned, you're on your own there.
Hope you all enjoy!

I built both just moved some commits over from the GPU_OC branch and added my own to custom. I have no way to test it but several others did already. All I've heard is great feedback and running faster than OOS. Of course it depends on the ROM.

I just built the OOS one... custom I don't think there's a GPU_OC branch to rebase on. I deleted my other repo with changes and just switched to the dev's work since it was nicely done. I'm always running OOS I don't really care to run a custom ROM. Although I imagine it would be pretty easy to add his commits from the OC branch to the custom one, you never know what issues you'll encounter when doing so... And I don't really feel like building a kernel I won't use. I already converted it over from a carrier locked phone. Happy enough it runs on Global OOS ROM. I've run a few custom ROMs before like Lineage, Evolution-X, I always end up back on OOS. Just like having a fast phone with no lag where I can open any number of apps and get work done quickly without waiting for anything to load.

RadioActive-WL-295-920GPU-custom-2.1.4-BETA.zip is the file for custom ROMs BTW if you don't read the notes (which you should). As I mentioned to the unhappy user you can always drop the max GPU in any kernel manager to 800mhz and set on boot if you got an inferior 865 although artifacts have only been reported by 1 person period. A more productive approach rather than bad mouthing someone trying to provide a free service is "can you build a version that maxes out at 900mhz?"... Respect please in the forums.

Well I put up custom and OOS just use a kernel manager to set the high frequency you want it to stop at on boot. But before you do, here's a day of basically using the phone a lot at 120hz with many apps open. Note someone here didn't look at the SOT DRAIN which is 100/8.27 = 12hrs SOT. I didn't start it with a full battery. I do that on purpose start at 60% or so to see how it drains in the middle of the discharge. So I'd advise those that are quick to criticize, make sure you actually calculate something before saying it's "horrible" when it's as good as stock.

That's horrible, considering auto gives me 9-12 hours screen on time, depending on what I am doing obviously

You do realize that this is 12 SOT if you never let it sleep and use it all the time, look at the stats and do some math. 100%/8.27% = 12hrs SOT. Idle went up because I was on phone calls for an hour, and the screen turns off. It's usually 0.6%/hr if you're using it (on WiFi), 1%/hr on cell, turning it on and off every few minutes will cause more drain. I was using my phone a lot today that way. I would say that's amazing to get the same SOT on a modded kernel. I haven't optimized a thing in the ROM or notifications, just used the kernel. I don't care if you use it, do as you wish.
The best way to get help, or to find me is on the TG group. There are people there that can help you out if need be.

Anyway I'm tired of people requesting things and then getting completely incorrect information and yelling at me because they either can't do math or they don't know how to use a kernel manager. I can be reached on the TG group but you all are on your own now. All I hear are complaints for doing free work for people I don't even know, some of you need to learn some manners.

Ignore the haters and complainers...
I just flashed (RadioActive-WL-295-920GPU-custom-2.1.4-BETA.zip) over CR_Droid (CR 03/08 and 03/26 builds 8Pro) and it made a HUGE difference in smoothness, snappiness and performance. I don't worry too much about battery drain as we can top off our phones in less than 20 minutes a day. The under-clocking is also wonderful. I remember back in the G2 days we not only underclock, but would under-volt ALL the frequencies just a few ticks away from unstable for more battery life (dependent on the cpu bin ver), but not really that necessary anymore with larger batteries and super quick charges.
Much respect and appreciation and hope to see more tweaks and builds in the future

Thanks bud, glad to hear good results with the kernel. On TG everyone has been full of compliments. Let's hope it stays that way here as well. We can conduct everything in a respectable manner.
Now if you REALLY want to save battery and your cell provider supports Voice over WiFi, Google Messages enable enhanced chat features and keep it on WiFi only (i.e. Bluetooth only on while you're using it, Location off unless you're navigating somewhere, NFC off unless you're using GPay, mobile data off), here's what I get being on my phone all day today (started under 60% battery) at 120hz: 7% active drain, 0.84% inactive. If you're asleep it's more like 0.4%. You won't miss any calls or texts either.
great, zero! drain during the bedtime that's awsome! thanks for the kernel upgrade
