Some of you already have the Note 4 and probably some of you also are afraid to trigger the knox counter, so I'm curious about people will do while the phone has warranty.
Are you going to flash odin roms only or you will flash cwm roms?

Using odin to flash a custom rom / recovery / kernel / root will trigger knox
I can see what you trying to say but as long as you fluch official tar with odin knox is fine
So nobody wants to flash custom roms yet?
Is knox killing slowly the custom rom scene?

And correct as well.
There are some variables to this now but in general if you don't touch the stock recovery and flash an official tar, you are ok... Not sure about completely different variants though. You'll just brick your device and if you find ones that work all you will change is the included bloatware.
So I have to ask - What is the point?

Ya there's root already for 5.1.1.
Go to the unified dev section for GS6 and grab the unified kernel. You'll need to unlock bootloader first in dev options then flash the latest TRWP recovery in Odin. Then flash the kernel and you'll have root.that's the version, so take a look at the details before flashing.

i rooted my t-mo s6 with the above method, but the phone feature broke... can't hear the person i'm calling at all. i'm not sure if the mic is broke since i cannot hear the person on the other end...
i should have kept the phone on 5.0.2 @[email protected]
I finally have root, TWRP, call audio and data without tripping knox on my stock GS6 5.1.1. I didn't think it was possible. Am I wrong? Has this been done already and I'm just late to the game?
please share the method you used, because when i root my s6 on 5.1.1, i get no call audio...
I'm wondering if it's even worth rooting this phone. Setup wise I was able to disable and hide all bloatware with a $1.50 app. If I could get xposed working with temp root. I'd be a happy camper.

I installed the engineering sboot in download mode with odin, then allowed to restart rom, booted back to download mode, then v3 of the unified Kernel for sm-920T in download mode with odin, booted the rom, back up my efs, installed TWRP v12 (g925t_of6_aou_twrp_recovery_v12) with Flashify, rebooted into download mode and flashed g920t_of6_aou_kernel_v1.tar kernel.
I did get the security manager prompt after the restart but there is a way to freeze that prompt with Titanium Back up. I'm looking for that now

Just checked. KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0 (0×0000) is what it shows. I installed a custom rom (Xtrestolite) and all I needed to do was reflash the second kernel again to get audio back. Fingerprint is the only thing that isn't working so far.
I can post an image of the bootloader screen if you'd like.

Dears, thank you all for your efforts in making this website the best ever.
I just bought a new Note 5 (N920C) couple of weeks ago, and suddenly it went crazy!!
All apps began to crash and the phone reboots million times.
I tried all means of wiping, recovery, i even reinstalled the stock firmware, changed kernels, still the same problem, (latest kernel is SpaceX-Kernel-v0.1_N920C(official) still no use.
Now the thing is my knox counter is up by 1, and the warranty is void. :crying: any way i can reset it to send it back to samsung, or if there anyways to fix it it would be better as they will take two weeks min to repair it.

can you enter download mode??? (down+mid button+power)
if so i can recommend a couple of issues;
1) enter download mode and by using odin download the factory rom from sammobile.com... Select your country (turkey?) and find the appropriate rom there
2) flash the phone
3) with the same mode connect to pc and by using smart switch try to update the firmware (There is an update if i am not mistaken)
4) see what happens
good luck

To be honest, it worked after i updated the google play services after the last update, then i tried to flash dr.Ketans kernel and it went crazy again, now all the apps work, but it keeps rebooting every once in while.
Do you have any idea how can I reset my knox counter? I want to throw it back to the warranty.
I had had the frequent rebooting issue with Space kernel then I installed the root-able stock kernel and the issue has been in the past ever since

knox is a software and hardware based fuse if it gets tripped there is no going back.. Even the great developer chainfire (mastermind behind flashfire, cf auto root and supersu) confirmed that knox counter cannot be reverted back..
I upgraded to OJD yesterday, same issue, almost all apps have sopped working, I fixed this with re-install kernel and wipe cache in recovery, not sure which one is the correct solution, just try this, thanks.

Use the T3 method posted here.
It is the same now because the only reason the T3 method was different was because T3 was on 5.1.1.
DOK2 is 5.1.1 so now they are the same method.
Just use the BeastMode 1.1.1 kernel to remove the root restriction. (Can't root on a stock kernel after 5.1.1)

Fyi, kept getting a security warning that would boot me to recovery and also on reboot all WiFi passwords were lost.
To stop the security warning I had to freeze SecurityLogAgent, and for the other I had to change the build prop for "ro.securestorage.support" to false.

For the N910T? Not the T3.
for either 1 if u have that problem with the security warning when u boot the phone up....the same thing happens when u root the note 5 and s6 edge plus u will not loose root by flashing the boot img back to the phone
You can freeze "securitylogagent" in titanium backup and the message goes away

Is this still an issue? I upgraded my bootloader and modem to DOK2 to run the CMRemix Marshmallow ROM, but because I'm running into some usability issues and random lockup/crashes, I decided to go back to my backed up KitKat-stock-rooted ROM. But ODIN kicks back a FAIL every time I try to install ANK4.
Edit: I realize "5.11" is talking about Lollipop, but I wanted to find about rolling back 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Short answer, yes it will wipe your data. Backup your data to Google drive or Samsung Cloud so you can restore after you go back.
Hi,
Flashing official binaries with odin does not trip knox cause :
1. If you are in locked bootloader, even if you want to flash custom binaries, the bootloader itself will not apply any changes , cause, obviously, you are not permited to do that .
2. Samsung does not allow you to downgrade to a version prior to latest patch, and, cause of that, you will not make any changes to bootloader itself downgrading, cause, the latest patch will be overwrited.
OBS: If you want your data , backup it first in SCloud or Manually (or both) , and you can try using HOME_CSC (Of firmware you are installing) to preserve data, but u can end up in a bootloop (forcing you to wipe data manually in recovery), but is worth to try .
