Try to clear credential... advance setting > security > cleaf credential... i dont what effect if clear that..but it work when i clear that..
Go to Advanced Settings->Security->Device Administrators. Deactivate the correct Device Administrator - note that in doing so, you may end up deactivating your access to a specific account. e.g. For me to access my email, I need to enforce a policy set by one of the admins (this policy forces me to set a password\pincode). if I disable the administrator, I no longer need to set a pincode but I lose access to my email.
I had this when I first got the device, like a week after I got it. The only way I could solve it was a factory reset, the clear credential thing didn't work for me... Hope you guys have more luck than I

yesterday i download an app called toggle data from the market and tried to see if it worked. well it worked turning of data but now my phones data wont turn back on. keeps saying disconnected even when i make a testing shortcut.
and i uninstalled itconfused. can anyone download the app and post it so i can install it bk to my phone to see if i can get it to turn my data back on. if that fails i don't know what to do.HELP!!! plz
Edit: Just read camurphy's post below. He (or she) is the developer of the toggle app and explains how it works in detail.
Hi djlucklu,
I am very sorry about the trouble my application caused you. jashsu is correct. It is similar to APNDroid however it modifies the APN type of each APN on the phone. It sets APN type to a single hyphen and this prevents the phone from connecting to that access point. It stores the original value of APN type into a database when disabling, and when re-enabling it restores these values. This method works perfectly on my development G1 and in the emulator however unfortunately for about 50% of people it seems something is failing.
Go to Settings -> Wireless controls -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names and edit each access point in the list. Make sure that APN type is not set to a hyphen. If you clear the value (it will be displayed as '<Not set>') the phone should try and connect to that access point.
I hope this works for you and once again I am very sorry about this.
Hey again, I located the bug that prevented the app from working on your phone. Version 1.1 is now published on Android Market and that bug is fixed.
Clearing the value of APN type for all the access points on your phone should let you connect to the Internet again.
Apologies again for the inconvenience.
I have a problem reconnecting, I have to reboot/or toggle airplane mode on-off before I can reconnect.
Im no expert on HSPDA but I have had a simmilar problem with incorrect WAP/HSPDA settings on my old nokia where if I put the settings in wrong I would have to reboot the phone before it would connect (this was using Nokia PC suite on my computer)
I had 2 simcards "Vodaphone" and "Three" Ie if I forgot to change the setting to from "3internet" to "vodanet" I would have to reset the phone.
What about mms?
Hi Cameron
I just downloaded your app and it works fine.
My only issue is that it also disables the mms apn. I'm then even not notified that I received an mms until I reactivate it by putting back manually 'mms' in the APN type of the mms apn.
Would it be possible to avoid disabling APNs that have 'mms' as APN type?
Thank you
The G.
Hi FuentesGG,
I released version 2.0 today that is in the form of a home screen widget. When you add the widget to your home screen it allows you to specify whether you'd like to leave MMS enabled. Hope this helps
i love the app, thx camurphy
Hi Cameron,
I've just installed the update to 2.0 and after installing the widget on my screen when the button is green I'm not able to connect and when it's not green.... I'm not able to connect too!
Could you please provide me a solution as the previous advise from this post doesn't work on my phone (HTC Magic from Proximus in Belgium!)
Thx in advance.
Ok... that's working now!!
I've restored my APN settings! Thanks for the app but... that would be great not to break all connections when update is installed!
Thanks !!!

Big thanks ;-)

Hi camurphy. I installed your widget today and as soon as I used it I am unable to send sms. I can receive them but not send them. I've tried factory reset and reflashing. Replacing the mms.apk. everything I could think of. I hope you have a solution. Thanks in advance
I use pattern to unlock my Galaxy S, but my son played with my phone and accidentally input too many patterns and make my phone only can be unlocked by signing into google account.
I typed my correct gmail user name and password, but still can't sign in and unlock the phone. I am also using APN ON/OFF application, and the APN status is OFF. I am thinking maybe it makes my phone unable to connect to the Internet and sign in to gmail.
Is there anyone know how to solve this problem without resetting the phone into factory default? And if I need to factory reset my phone, how can I do it because the 3 button combination is not working with my Galaxy S?
I'll be grateful if there is someone who can help
Many people have had this issue to some extend, most of them simply reflash the phone since that fixes it.
I remember someone wrote that you somehow could bypass it, sadly cant seem to locate the post anymore.

found it.

Try to put your gmail login info from all different gmail account you have.
Also try this. Take out battery>wait for 3 hours > but the battery back > press power button for 20 seconds (This method was listed by one guy on other forum).
One guy also mentioned this method.
AGAIN ITS the lamest thing you could ever think of, anyway heres how it goes,
1) Log in to your google account on your pc, the same account you registered for your phone
2) After logging in look at the top right corner of your inbox/email page, it would say your google username. Like say if you name is John, and you have a google id thats registered to your galaxy s as ,[email protected] Now this google id on the top right corner of the page would be displayed [email protected]
3) Type in the google id, thats visible on the right hand top corner of your page ([email protected]) into your galaxy s handset locked page, and type in the password.
TADA AND YOUR ON TO THE NEW SCREEN TELLING YOU TO PUT IN ANOTHER PATTERN.
Thanks
Zoh
If you cant login by computer then go here
HTML Code:
https://www.google.com/accounts/recovery
...And if you don't remember your secret (recovery) question then try the following method (check the link)
EDIT: you can also try this (very helpful to lot of ppl with the same problem) http://www.docstoc.com/docs/39761478...d---Locked-Out
Any way try all the methods and let me know if it works...BEST OF LUCK

this solution is with thanks to another person on another site...
You need a WiFi connection available for this to work!
1) Call your phone from a different phone.
2) Answer the call. While still connected...
3) Hit the BACK button on the phone (the arrow softkey)
4)This takes you to the home screen (it might take a few attempts, it depends on your timing. It took me 4 attempts)
5)Drag down your notifications bar and turn the WiFi on if it isn't already.
6)Close the notifications bar then hit the MENU softkey, select Settings then "Accounts and sync".
7)Click "Add Account" and select Google.
8)Sign up for a new google account as normal.
9)When the signup process is complete (and it must successfully create an account) you can hang up the call. (Do not sync the accounts)
10)Now when the phone asks you to unlock it using google credentials, use the ones from the account you just created. It will now ask you for a new security pattern, then for the same pattern again to verify.
11)Once you are back into the phone, turn off this "feature" until Google release a fix for the bug.
12)You can now delete the "false" google account which you just created from the phone. You should log into google and delete it from there too really.
13)Now reboot your phone. When the phone starts up and it still says "Phone Locked" don't panic!, Just drag the screen out of the way to unlock the phone, just like you did before you activated the pattern security.

Can Tasker automate the abling and disabling of a security PIN for unlocking the phone? For example, while at home I would like to have no screen lock, but while out I would like more security and so would like a PIN to be required for accessing the phone. Thanks in advance.

When I'm off work later tonight I can post step by step instructions. Do you have wifi at home? Because I have mine set so that it knows I'm at home when I'm connected to my home wifi.
thats exactly what I want! I would appreciate it very much!
1. Create new profile - name it whatever you want
2. Under First Context choose State > Net > Wifi Connected
3. Under SSID input your home wifi's network name or if connected to it then just hit the magnifying lens in the upper right and select your home network and hit the green checkmark at the bottom to save it
4. Choose New Task and name it whatever you want.
5. Hit the plus sign to add a new action and choose Plugin > Secure Settings
6. Now hit Edit under Configuration and change Keyguard to either password/pin or pattern lock (depending on what security you've choosen) and select Off (I also check the setting where I've got to enter in my pass code once before it will unlock but that's up to you) and then hit the disk icon in the bottom right to save it and again confirm that you want to save it.
7. Hit the green checkmark again and also on the next screen.
8. Then click on the action you created and choose Add Exit Task and repeat the steps starting at step 4 but this time under Password/Pin or Pattern Lock choose On.
9. Then just keep hitting the green checkmarks until you exit out of Tasker.
I typed this out on my phone on the bus ride home so let me know if it's not clear or I missed a step. And you will need to first install Secure Settings that I linked to earlier.
Awesome, thanks for posting that! I haven't used Tasker, or Locale or any other automating app, so I'm curious, why would one choose Tasker over Locale? I just have a few simple things i want to automate (though that list could grow once I get into it).

I've never used Locale but before I bought Tasker I read a few reviews comparing the two and it seems that Locale is more user friendly but Tasker is more powerful. But for most everyday uses Locale will probably work fine.

I did exactly as you said and i can't get it to work. Did you clear the lock settings in security before doing this or keep that? Also what rom are you using, that may be the problem for me (elite ics).
I've tried setting a lock, and then connecting to wifi but lock doesn't go away. I also tried having no lock set and turning off wifi, but the lock doesn't show up on the screen.

I didn't think to add that you've also gotta open Secure Settings and select the Helper tab and install the Helper. There's also an option there to download a flashable zip to install the helper (it's gotta be in system to work). I've just gotten so used to flashing the helper every time I flash a new ROM I didn't think of it.

Had Helper installed and still didn't work. Btw Helper is for pattern only, you don't need it for pin/password.
I'll try playing around some more tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
I'm very interested in this. If you get this working I may have to break down and buy tasker. Always been curious about it, but never really had a purpose of it til this came up.

Sorry, don't know what to tell you. Tasker's working great for me.
tried llama and it kinda worked with built-in actions but not with the secure settings plugin.
Couldn't you also do it by location as well, instead of Wifi connection. Which is basically Locale.

I try to enable this feature but it sends a sms to notify SIM card change on each power up of the phone. I have this problem after download latest update from Samsung. Does anyone has this problem?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Try resetting phone (Wipe) and setup new SIM Change alert wizard.
SIM Change Alert
Yes , I have this same problem. Every time i power up , it sends an sms saying the sim card on the phone has been changed. I waste 5 smses every time it does this.
What is the meaning of " Wipe " reset? Is it same as Factory Default reset.?
Would like to have a solution to this problem?
Cheers
Herojam
Go to setting - Location security - SIM change alert uncheck it (you need to login with samsung ac PW)
Restart
Now again select it N change recipient if req. (setting - location security - alert msg recipient)
Thanks for info.
Going to give it a try.
Thanks Dr.Ketan.
Cheers
Herojam.
Have tried it and your suggestion does not work. Still keeps sending SMSes when you power off/on.
Any way to stop this. Would appreciate any help.
Cheers

Disable tbe option for sim Change alert and install Cerberus from the app store. This app does the same and more.

Thanks for suggestion on new app. Looks good but it is a paid app. Might want to buy it after finding out why the stock software keeps sending out SMSes and the explanation why it happens. Otherwise don't know if the stock software is buggy or plain useless.
Cheers.
Herojam
Any explanation from anyone with same problem or no one is using this feature on the phone?
I think samsung dive still recognising your car as foreign.
Once try lock device from samsungdie.com, N unlock with PW
OR
Remove existing reciepient number N disable SIM change option, login with new samsung account
then add recipients number.
My problem goes away after upgrading to ics 4.03.

I've been trying to install AdHell 2, but to do so I need to enable Device Administrator for it. However, when I go to do this and press the "activate" button, it just does nothing. Doesn't respond in any way.
Out of curiosity I went into Settings > Lock screen & security > Other security settings > Device administrators, to see if I could enable it for any other apps, and I couldn't.
So, what's preventing me from enabling this?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem in my S7 Edge, I guess it has to do something with the firmware version we are using.
If someone finds a solution I will appreciate it

It was actually a theming app that was preventing me from pressing it, for whatever reason. I disabled my apps one by one until I found the one causing it.
