Issues unlocking bootloader on a MacBook - T-Mobile HTC One (M9)

Hello, everyone! It's been a while since I was active on XDA, and it's also been a while since I've rooted a device. With that said, I'll need some help. I have a MacBook Pro, and I am trying to unlock my bootloader, as well as get root access.. I understand the huge difference between Windows and OS X, so I'm not sure if that is the problem or not. I logged onto my HTC Dev account and followed the instructions to unlock, but when I go into download mode, there is no fastboot option, but I have fastboot and ADB installed on my computer. I'm kind of at a standstill as far as what to do. Once I get the bootloader unlocked, I'll probably need to know the correct files to use to gain root access? Any help or suggestions? Here is my phone info:
Android Version: 6.0 (Marshmallow)
Sense Version: 7.0
Software Number: 3.39.531.7
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I think I discovered the problem. For some reason HTC Sync won't recognize my phone. Thanks everyone!

the best you'll get is cm13 but be warn, i tested and became laggy with time, but everything works.
don't need s-OFF just unlock bootloader
and you cant just install any ROM and hope for the best. Has to be HTC or compatible ROM. Thats why some people devoted their time to port the ROMs.
i can unlock the bootloader without s-off??

yes.
just follow htc tutorial...its easy.
https://www.htcdev.com/
I just started unlocking and i stock at the fastboot thing. It said some adbWinAPI thing is missing. I remembered that i worked with adb once before when installing new ROMs to my HTC Desire and i ported my own ROM as well and needed adb.
So i still had adb on my harddrive and with that fastboot and adb tools i could run the fastboot command. But now it says waiting for device although it is connected and the Windows Device manager found it and displays it as Android USB Device My HTC without any warnings or errors. I installed the Sync Manager as well.
Any ideas why my device is not detected?? It is in the Fastboot USB mod like the tutorial said (i have HBoot RAMDUMP, Reboot, Reboot Fastboot, Power Down option in that Fastboot mod)
==EDIT==
forget it i just forgot to activate usb debugging
CM14.1 is up and running, working superb for most of the devices, some devices have reported camera issues and network, but nothing major.

No way to S-Off without Sunshine.
i cant install adb fastboot on my p.c....i want to unlock my HTC mini 2 bootloader and root, but i don't no any thing about fastboot and adb.... any help will be [email protected] please

Any way to flash SuperSU without TWRP?

So far, every damned Cricket phone I've ever bought has either a crippled bootloader, or no bootloader at all. I recently bought the LG Harmony (M257) (Android 7.0) from Cricket Wireless after unsuccessfully trying to root and bricking a ZTE Grand X 3 (Z959) (Android 5.1.1) from losing charge while attempting a root. Either way, these phones seem to have little to no bootloader. If you prompt adb with "adb reboot bootloader" it just boots as normal, right into the OS.
My whole question here is, is it possible to flash SuperSU without TWRP or an unlocked bootloader? I am in dire need of rooting this device, as I'm getting overwhelmed with how little it can do as stock.
If there's a downloadable version of twrp that is "universal" somewhere, with a proper signature that can be adb side-loaded, or anything that can get me a team win custom recovery on a device with a crippled bootloader, please tell me about that too.
Thanks in advance to anyone that replies with helpful info!

- it has a bootloader; just crippled (like most carrier supplied prepaid devices)
- no way to install Magisk, SuperSU or similar tool on an unrooted device with locked bootloader (if it were that easy ...)

Well, it was worth a shot... Guess I might just have to resort to a few sketchy one-touch methods and use SuperSU Me.

Good luck - no known (or at least reliable) root exploits for M257 which is a prerequisite for SuperSU me.

Why would you flash your phone via ADB when you can do it easily via fastboot? If you download the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistance and pick the right version it will do the rest for you.. The link is : https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds101291[/url] Please let me know if you need more assistance and I will try to help you.

[GUIDE] How to unlock bootloader of P7 L10 in 2018 (Without Huawei unlock or paying)

I have attached my unlocking software, if you are still on android kitkat you can immediately unlock and if youre on android 5.0 or 5.1.1 the software will help you downgrade, once you have unlocked the bootloader you can upgrade back to the new software.
Thanks, working trough it on *nix atm, i tried the method described to unlock the bootloader officially, or so i thought, the method has been removed from the Huawei web site. Registering an account was required to obtain the unlock code but this resulted in me having to editing the page to add my country number as the country was not listed to get the sms unlock code.... At the moment i am preparing to hack the device but have not currently found the file for the B856 firmware it's running. I do not want to for example downgrade the baseband, the baseband will need to be hacked a little bit in order to get Android 7.x, i believe is the case.
Rooted my system and backed up all the partitions. Everything but userdata that is,

This software is for the p7-l10 so im not sure if it will work for l12 but it may work, just download it, connect your phone via a usb cable, run the bat file and then choose the option you want from the listed options (unlocking bootloader)
As I can root the huawei p7-l12 the apps to perform this procedure are automatically blocked, I mention it because in the executable root appears necessary.
Hi, I can confirm that this method works for the huawei p7-l12.

Hey, I've tried to get my code but it doesn't work. I have already downgraded and when I open the Get_bootloader_code file and choose the choice 4, it says press enter to continue, I press enter and nothing happens. BUT if I disconnect the device it says step 2 where you have to type your code and press enter. Thing is, I got no code! Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong and thanks in advance!

For this to work you have to be rooted! Make sure you are rooted, and if you are, open up cmd and write adb devices while the device is connected with a usb cable to your pc and give me the output

Works, thanks a lot :>
So I am stuck with this at the moment. To unlock the bootloader, I need to have the phone rooted. And to be able to unroot, I need to have an unlocked bootloader.
I already tried to downgrade back from 5.1.1 to a lower version, but I was not succesfull.
How can I get an unlocked, rooted P7?
That is nice, thanks.
Howeever I need to get back to 5.1.1, while keeping it unlocked/TWRPed, will OTA work, or i need to do incremental flash through TWRP? As i understand doing it by UPDATE.APP would lock the bootloader again?
EDIT: never fk mind.
You know what... DC Unlock really gives you the code for 4€, and it takes 60 seconds.
So after 5 hours of downloading and flashing roms, now I suddenly have TWRP and Magisk after 5 minutes and easy instructions. Couldn't recommend more.

ASUS MeMO Pad (ME173X GROUPER) | Issues with fastboot-mode / unlocking bootloader

Hey there community,
I've recently bought an used Asus MeMO Pad with the following data:
Model number: ME173X
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernel version: 3.4.5
Build number: ME173X_WW_user_4.2.4.04152_20140714 release-keys
As I want to get root access and maybe put some alternative OS on it, i wanted to unlock the bootloader. I'm using a Linux OS on my Laptop so I won't be able to rely to those windows applications for this case.
In general adb and fastboot commands work as intended via USB. With adb there are no issues at all, but the fastboot mode is where the trouble begins.
As I read in several guides for unlocking the bootloader on this device, there should be some kind of (even minimalistic) user interface where I should be abled to confirm that I want to unlock the bootloader.
On my device I only get a black screen with one white line at the bottom stating
=>FASTBOOT mode ...
fastboot devices detects the device and I can perform fastboot reboot.
As soon as I try to run any command that needs an user interaction on the devices screen (e.g. fastboot oem unlock), the shell on my Linux system is in a wait loop (guess it's waiting for devices response) and on the ASUS the screen remains totally the same.
Anyone of you any idea what could be the issue with this device? In Androids settings I've enabled USB-debugging, did I miss something?
Recovery mode is Android system recovery <3e>. I don't know if or how I could install custom backups with that one, only worked with TWRP yet.
Already thanks a lot for reading into my struggle - maybe someone of you could help me out of that.
I am following this one, since I have exactly the same problem.
I did try to unlock the bootloader on a Win11 device, but the tablet did not connect long enough to be able to unlock the bootloader.
Any help or suggestions to get a custom rom on this oldie via Linux would be much appreciated.
I believe your droidboot partrition could be damaged, it should be easily fixable with flashing ESP recovered from firmware files.
Regardless of that, im pretty sure you cant just unlock the bootloader like this, first of all you will need to upgrade to lollipop 5.0 and then flash modified bootloader, otherwise wont work, Asus does not support unlocking bootloader on this device unfortunately.
