Right then with all the controversy with GOOGLE not being happy with cyan distributing there apps with his roms....
I HAVE THE SOLUTION
This Software will Take a BARE BONES ROM (no google apps included) and will basically aslong as you have a back up copy of these google apps will UnZip the ROM, Stuff it with your backup apps, ReZip the ROM and SIGN it so you have a fully fleshed out ROM to go out and update
Just to add this is just a test app to demonstrate a method to combat google threats make sure u check back when cyan releases bare bone app for update
HAPPY DAYS

Does this only do Google Apps ?
or can it account for proprietary HW Manufacturers supplied files as well???
~enom~
There are four simple steps on how to use the program which you will see once you open it, you must already have the google apps backed up as i cannot distribute them(obviously lol) but there are scripts available around here which will pull all the google apps from your current rom and back them up, i may include this next time i get a chance to program
Glad to see we are already getting solutions to bypass Google's lockdown. Just happy that I already have the ROM with the new market and YouTube

it will push whatever apps you have backed up into system/app then zip it up and sign it ready for updating. tho i would not place any old app in there because it will save them all in the phones memory
Nice going. :]

You need to coordinate with Farmatito and his thread <HERE>. He has developed a script that backs up all the necessary files. But they don't all exist in /system/app. We need to all coordinate on these things so that effort doesn't end up getting duplicated and wasted.
This should be migrated into CM-Updater
Does this mean everybody is happy again?

Good point i think if were going to use an app to do this we will need to pull in all our efforts together so we can have the full monty in one app,
just looking through that script though and im wondering if it is actually necessary to pull all of those apps? i think it would be necessary to chat with cyan to get the specific apps that he will be removing from his roms, but this is a start.... at the moment this app is useless as there are no bare bone roms lol but its a light in the right direction

For the backing up part its just a matter of updating the lists of files and
the name of the archive. The infrastructure, error checking and testing
is already there. The needed binaries (zip) are compiled and tested.
BTW do you prefer zip or tar.gz archives (can do both) ?

zip is the default in v3, -t switch gives you tar.gz. ;-)
Hello, I decided to open this thread to understand the situation of +20MB Ram Fix on Gingerbread ROM, MoDaCo is currently offering this service, but does not explain how to do it by yourself, so, someone can make a guide to be useful at all? exactly what needs to modify in Settings.apk?
If someone posts a guide I will be happy to include it in the first post
Take an original and modified setting.apk and compare yourself
(I'm not a dev... I think just)

Topogigi made a trick like that to use ram normally used by LG Ota, that is in fact not used at least in Europe. Besides removing omadm client he did something in services I guess, perhaps you could find a clue in his thread.
20 mb ram fix.. for a device with 512 mb it very well !!!
From memory, you don't need to do anything other than remove the ovdm apk, but attempting to check for updates from settings causes an FC.

It was based on v20e, it works on 20m so it should work on 20l.
There will be no further releases along these lines, I now need to concentrate on getting the script working and broadening my limited knowledge.

V20s-Spain. Stock plus current play store updates for your convenience and mine in getting it deodexed and zipaligned quickly.
I installed this yesterday evening and left it to update its self overnight from the play store.
Updated files as follows: Adobe flash player, gmail, google play books, google play movies, google play store, google search, google+, maps, street view and voice search.
I've added root, superuser, busybox 1.18.4, and quickreboot so you can access recovery. No other LG files have been used from previous versions. No other files have been added, edited or tampered with in any way.
Afaik play movies will not work on rooted phones.

Good question, I had to use titanium to delete google search, then download the one from the play store (same version number) and then convert it to system app.
That one lg supplied file would not deodex no matter what I tried? the replacement was fine.
i tried to deodex 20q. but i cant deodex nearly 10 apks.
if you did it it is great!
only one apk and repleace from play store doesnt matter. i mean did you used any apk from other versions like 20o 20p etc.
good work man. thanx
what is the difference is latest libaudiopolicy.so?

Maybe you wanna convert all those ROMs into easy to flash .zip files. But a nice thread anyway. UAE version and some other regional ones would be nice. Maybe we should all work together, create all the local ones, post them here and you add them to the thread, so everyone can pick a rooted version, he/she wants to have.
I guess they are rooted or don't delete the root, right? (I don't think a nandroid would remove root, but are they rooted?)

Sounds like a plan, In the meantime I need to learn how to create zip files. I had no joy with rom kitchen. any other tools for that please?
I might help with flashable zip, but gimme a little bit time so I can test
In process of dl from my server (have to sign it locally), I'll test it ASAP
EDIT: Getting error when installing :/ Will try to fix it.
EDIT2: Now bricked, I guess I shouldn't have changed things on boot.img, will unbrick then retry without any modifications from my own nandroid.
EDIT3: I guess I just bricked my phone too much times for this night, will retry tomorrow.

One day with v20s, good room, very smooth, battery management is really good. The only thing is that calendar and note widget don't work
I think V20s is the best version for me.. I have used all the version and for me its most stable one...
And with the help of UOT Kitchen I modified some changes like battery, status bar, notification bar , font, boot animation.. And everything works like charm...
Can someone instruct me on how to do this? thanks

/system writable mod is included in many custom kernels and also in some custom roms like ARHD. What are you trying to accomplish? Why do you need /system writable?
Also advised in the thread you linked:
This is mainly for devs, who are free to incorporate it into their ROMs.
Unless you are an advanced user, I would wait for it to be included in your favourite ROM.

I want system write-able so I can remove stock apps and boot up/down animation, I don't want a custom ROM.

And I fully agree with this and that's probably why you didn't received any answer yet.
You don't need a custom rom if you don't want one. A custom kernel like elementalx or bulletproof will do the job fine with your stock rom.
Is your device unlocked? rooted?
Also note that modifying or deleting /system files will prevent you to flash future ota updates
EDIT: btw these 2 kernels I suggested you were created by the same dev who posted that mod you are referring to.
Hello, Everyone!
I am new to XDA and I have to say I'm loving it!
I know a bit of hacking and such but for the life of me I can't grasp the concept of decompiling or recompiling apk's, i know how to do it but i get lost when it comes to editing.
I am on the new Note 4 (SM-N910T3) and every rom i've seen released for it either has 3minit battery, potato clock ect ect...
Personally i am more of a stock guy and I just want the DOG1 Stock system UI. Stock clock, stock battery, stock drop down.
Is there any way for me to acquire this? Any way i can pull it from the stock MD5 file or a place that has the stock files?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
SIDE NOTE: Does anyone know why when i boot the phone up, stock or custom rom I always get like one vibration and then 3 vibrations... not a big deal really but its just something i noticed
You can maybe get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62368968
I haven't tried it but it looks like he posted a pure stock version of DOG1

Hmmm, Haven't seen that one, maybe i can make a backup of my current rom and flash this to rip the system UI. Thanks.
I was thinking maybe just download the ROM and pull the systemui apk out of the ROM zip. Then possibly you can replace your existing one with the stock one using a file manager. Not 100% sure if that would work because of force close issues.. you'd have to be able to set the permissions in time and then reboot. In any case, make a backup first for sure!
