While im not new to flashing or even to motorola (coming from moto x 2013-developer). It seems like things work a little differently on the Turbo.
I have unlocked bootloader and rooted. But i am seeing a lot of roms and other customizations saying they require moforoot? I used super su to root and have twrp installed. Can you not just download a rom and install the zip through twrp?
Also, i am still on 44. Do i need to do an ota to 49?
I honestly just want to debloat, add free tethering, and add xposed. Just not sure on how to do all that with this phone. On my moto x there was a debloated rom that I flashed, then just added xposed.
Sorry for such noob questions. i feel silly being so confused.
You already did the hard part that is unlock the bootloader via sunshine and install twrp.
Moforoot is no longer required, if you want root download supersu and flash it via twrp.
If you want to update to 49 via OTA, your sistem image (and recovery) must be untoched aka unmodified. If you already modified them, you can download the complete verizon image .49 and update it via adb/fastboot commands. It will update your bootloader and radio, but still lollipop 5.1
If you want customs roms you can choose from CM, Mokee, Resurrection Remix, all of them are currently in marshmallow 6.0.1 but there are also final releases of them in 5.1.1
There are also a few modified stock ROMs.
The .49 update is a minimal security update that patched sunshine.
Cm13 is what I use and can attest it is a daily driver but you lose volte so debloated stock is still a very good option.

Do i need to update to 49 for any reason? Its not like thats would give me 6.0 anyway. Is there a debloat list anywhere of whats safe to get rid of? i honestly like stock rom. just not sure whats ok to uninstall or freeze. and xposed gets me everythign else id need.

i was looking at the computerfreak rom since it is stock, but holy crap! there r like a dozen links of things to flash. Can i just flash the rom u linked? or do i need to flash the radio and update and all that other stuff? Need to look closer to see whats necessary and whats optional

You must be reading something wrong.
Read the install steps listed in the first post. I'm paraphrasing but it's basically this:
Flash the ROM,
flash the radio/bootloader (to make sure you have the latest radio)
wipe cache
reboot.
It's the install steps listed in the first post. Can't be simpler.
Anything else you read is NOT listed in the install steps -- and is therefore optional stuff, like xposed, audio tweaks, etc.
So right now i just have stock (.44-5.1) rooted with xposed. im thinking of making a nandroid backup, flashing computerfreek stock rom so i can have tether. nandroiding that. then trying out cm13 to check out MM. But heres my question. right now im on 44. computerfreek is on 49 and cm13 is mm. If i have 3 different nandroids for each, can i wipe and flash between them? Or no, because of the different builds and diff versions of android?
You should be able to.

Hello All,
I attempted to install APOK maserati with gapps-jb-20130812, but my phone is missing some gapps like youtube and the play store, as well as a message keeps coming up saying AOSP keyboard has stopped working and I cannot type at all. Do I need to get a stock rom and revert? I did not backup like an idiot too... What should I do???
Download gapps, reboot to safestrap, install gapps like you did the rom.
Did you install over stock or in rom slot?

so don't use gaaps released after that
try Gapps 20121212
or 20121011
Thus far I have:
-Unlocked the bootloader, installed recovery, and Rooted (installed all my fav rooted apps)
-Installed Xposed for gravitybox
-Gotten tethering to work (what a pain that rooting doesnt just solve that problem)
-Deleted bloatware
Am I missing anything others are doing?

I've modified some previous scripts to automate rooting and twrp. Special credits to wootever, thecubed, JackpotClavin and possibly others.
Step 1: Go to Settings, About, Software information, and tap Build Number like 6 times to unlock developer options.
Step 2: Plug in USB cable to computer, check Internet connection, Ethernet
Step 3: Go to Settings, Developer options, and check USB debugging. Wait for pop-up and Allow USB debugging.
Step 4: Root your device by steps listed below.
Step 5: Run your one click recovery options listed below.
Download for Windows: Tested on Windows 7 64,32 bit. Probably works on others.

True, installing a custom recovery is complex. This makes it dummy free.

Maybe this is a dumb question. But since we have used the upgrade path via Malidus and its "prep" flash (which was 24a baseband and partitions). When other Roms are developed for true kit Kat on our devices (also eventually) will we be able to flash from where we are at considering for all intents and purposes we are on the 24a baseband?

There's a way to have the auto script check the MD5's after copying to the phone, but the coding is so complex I could not figure it out.
This guy here did it for the Spectrum, which we could alter his coding and make it for G2. Maybe JC can look at it.

We don't know. Probably not and would have to take the same approach again flashing those higher partitions to make the radio work with any new rom.
Thank you for this!! As a new G2 owner this will help me a lot. Am I correct in assuming this is the same procedure followed by tools like Flashify? i.e. copy the Lokified recovery image to device.
Looking in the zip, this is TWRP 2.6.3.4. So after this, to get to 2.7, we can get the official TWRP flashable zip, boot into recovery and flash that. Since I don't believe a Lokified 2.7 exists. Right?

Everything has to be lokified. If it isn't it can potentially brick your device. I've been on this same recovery twrp for all my testing and building of roms and never had a problem.

LightlyCleaned/Rooted ROM - OE2
How's it going guys! Since no one else has released a ROM yet for OE2 I'd release what I made for myself This is lightly cleaned, removing what I found to be unnecessary.
PLEASE READ!
You're going to have to be on OC3 right now to flash this, since OE2 itself doesn't have root yet! You can be deodexed/odexed, running a custom ROM, whatever, it'll work. HOWEVER, you will need to flash an additional package with ODIN or whatever tool you use, since the modem/recovery/boot(/kernel)/cm/sboot was updated. You can't use FlashFire for this right now, since it does not detect the cm/sboot files within the package, and they need to be updated for the phone to boot. I tried updating them with a zip package, however it didn't stick. So alas, ODIN it is, for now... So, flash this before booting into the ROM for the first time, by holding down Power + Home + Volume Down until you see the Download Screen. Let go, then press Volume Up. Flash accordingly, making sure to put the *.tar package in the AP section..
This allows you to be on OE2, and maintain root
I'm not responsible if anything bad happens.
Quick Step-By-Step: 1. Flash the ROM using FlashFire. Then immediately after it is done... 2. Flash the TAR package using ODIN 3. Party
HINT (thanks @coton!): You can change the Reboot Settings within FlashFire so that once it's done doing its thing, it can automatically reboot into download mode Just select my package in "Flash ZIP or OTA", then once configured at the bottom click "Reboot". Select "Download" and you are good to go!

Here's a long answer, for ya I started on a OC3 rooted ROM. I modified the OE3 update package to allow flashing this on a rooted build. Flashed it, then extracted the new system files (as they were now patched/updated). I manually patched the boot.img and modem.bin files by placing the originals from the OC3 ODIN package, and running "applypatch" on them with the patch provided from the update package. Patching the recovery was more tricky, because of the way the update package was set up. So I had to use the included sh script to patch and install the latest recovery, and then extract it using adb shell and "cat ....". I had to open that pulled recovery then in a hex editor because it included a lot of empty space at the end. After that, I confirmed the sha1 matched what it was supposed to be as mentioned in the updater-script from the official package, and it did!

Why are you re-uploading the downloads, is there a problem with the previous ones, as I just flashed the odexed rom, then odined the update tar, and have just booted up, everything seems fine so far.

Why are you re-uploading the downloads, is there a problem with the previous ones, as I just flashed the odexed rom, then odined the update tar, and have just booted up, everything seems fine so far.

he is using a different server, he had loaded the file to his dropbox but it looks like that server isn't going to work. I was able to download the package from his dropbox though .... This guy is a beast, make sure you guys donate to him, he has created some really cool edge features already and I'm sure there's more to come. If he ever learns how to incorporate the note edge "edge functionality " I'm going to kiss him lol

You are correct, DropBox shuts off your Public links if they get too much attention. and since you guys went ham, rightfully so (lol), they shut me down. So Mega it is, and we're half way there! Also I'm glad to hear it worked for those of you who were able to download it before!
oh and @2swizzle I'm guessing your referring to being able to have the 'feeds' while the screen is on? I've looked into it, and there was a lot of code removed that enabled that from the Note Edge to our phones-- the framework classes that incorporated it are basically stubs now. Although I could try adding it back in, in my personal opinion it'll be kind of... eh. it's not like the Note Edge where because of the more distinct curves it feels like a separate screen, of sorts, and it kind of just works. But with the S6 Edge since it's not as pronounced, it'd be more intrusive, make the aspect ratio weird, and decrease the amount of available screen size, when some already consider what we have is small, when comparing to the phablets of increasing popularity.

Working great so far, haven't found a single bug.
For those of you who haven't downloaded yet, I noticed that with FlashFire when you set it up to flash the rom, you can set the reboot option to go directly to download mode so you're ready for the odin update.
@coton you sir/mam are a terrific human being. I forgot to mention that great little trick on the OP, I'll update it immediately! Thank you!

Can you downgrade back to 5.1 if you flash this and decide its not for you?
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Yes. This is only system and boot.img's being flashed. I'm surprised it even works without a M bootstack.

Dload and flash kernel and SU from Sevens thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/repack-kernel-root-android-6-0-t3232387
After you reboot google play services will start to force close. Itll be annoying but navigate to Settings->General->Apps and find play services and uninstall updates. It should stop after that. At least it did for me
---------- Post added at 01:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:25 AM ----------
This likely leads into the security FC but trying to access lockscreen options from display also FCs
If u just flash superu it wont reboot, it looks like it wants to but it just hangs on the lg screen.
Also had force reboots by just trying to uninstall apps. I would say this is highly experimental at this point

You have to flash BOTH the kernel and the SU zips. The SU zip only installs the app. The kernel is what actually enables root. And I would use TiBackup to uninstall things atm
Have you successfully got root to work on this port? I could not. Just stuck in bootloop.
Other bug is sd card doesn't read corretly.
Hopefully T-Mobile will have M soon. I really like the feel of it.

Thank you @@MicroMod777 for everything you have done and keep doing for the H811 community. Truley a great person and Dev (MicroMod777)
Maybe @@BySezerSimsek (another great dev and person) can help out with the few problems (BySezerSimsek)
I flashed Rom, then patch, then kernel, then supersu. Have root, Working great right now aside from Bluetooth.
Didn't think id get to try this out so soon thanks man. The difference is very subtle but i love the feel so far

@snowlin
Are you sure this was your correct method of installing? Only reason why I ask is that I thought the patch had the kernel for H811 to get the phone to boot
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Yes it does. I flashed the other kernel to get root but it booted just fine for me

my experience so far,
only boots after flashing the rooted kernel, otherwise it gets stuck on the blue led. charging seems to be very very slow - it's estimating 12+ hours to get like 20% or so charge. If i'm not using the phone it appears to be charging at a decent speed so i'll leave it until the morning. Also, trying to uninstall apps causes a soft reboot.

The link is in the first page of this thread. It's not specifically for the h811. Just read one page back lol.
On a side note, anyone able to get mms to work?
Hello, and thanks for doing this. I can live without Bluetooth no problem, but there are a couple crushing bugs with this build. One being that I cannot uninstall anything (reboots instantly) another is that I cannot access the setting that allows app installation from unknown sources. Or any security setting for that matter. :S
Please advise on possible work arounds.
None at this point. I think we need H811 M bootstack for a full functioning build.

I uninstalled some apps with es file explorer. Just enable root explorer and find the apps you installed under data/app
Or system files under system/app
