Can we expect cm13 for honor 5c
It's hard to determine, nothing available yet (kernel source, device tree, bootloader unlock).
as honor and xda are now tied up we can expect it soon.
morover being kirin it would be a hard time for them
anyways i think yhe source code is aldredy availabe at huawei site.

I don't see a 5C kernel source there, is it named differently?!
No,you are all wrong!
The Bootloader can be unlocked easily by now.I'm a Chinese, lots of instructions are on our websites. And the TWRP for Honor 5C is already available.

The kernel source is available, but named differently. The Huawei p9 Lite and Honor 5C share the chipset and kernel source. I noticed that there were defconfigs of "nemo" next to my "venus" ones. And only recently did I discover that the codename for the 5C is "Nemo".
Even the previous generation of the Huawei P line uses the CM device and vendor tree of a Honor 4C or something, because they are identical inside.

Go check on my github for the device tree, and XePelato for the kernel source.
Although the kernel source is there,it is tricky to build(only two people managed to build it...)

If someone wants to compile the kernel, it's here: https://github.com/XePeleato/android_kernel_huawei_venus
The instructions are inside, if someone could report if it works, I'd really appreciate it.

The product we should add the ramdisk to is the "Image" file or the "Image.gz" file?

Guys what do you think? Will it come or not.
Im speccially interestet in the P9+. But i dont like the software of this device.
At least not until Huawei releases the source of the P9+. And, it's known that Huawei only releases the basics needed to be GPL compliant. It could take a few months before development really starts for this device. Unofficial ports will be available, official CyanogenMod versions.... We'll see
I understand that problem. I still hope..
First of all we need:
- An Unlocked Bootloader
- Release of Kernel Sources
- TWRP (Custom Recovery)
Additionally:
What affect would any rom development have on proprietary drivers/software for the Leica cameras ?

Unfortunately I do not think that you'll get CyanogenMod for this device even unofficially ... especially because the processor is Kirin and not Qualcomm !
Qualcomm provides source code for development, that's why almost all Qualcomm devices has CM officially or unofficially.
To bring CM for this device isn't impossible ... but it requires a very very good developer ....
You can take a look on P7 and P8 to see if CM exist ... if Yes, then you can hope ... P6 have a CM-11.0 ported of me , but is not 100% fixed .
I hope that a good developer will be here ( sooner or later ) to bring CM for P9 and/or P9+
Best regards !

very well your question
Indeed, is not a build of cm but rather a port of cm , because lack of source code ... with only kernel source code provided from Huawei, you'll not be able to build and run cm in your device !
Hope you understand !
It is not entirely impossible.
However, I am lucky to own a Huawei Honor 4C and P8 Lite. Both have HiSilicon Kirin 620 SoC. And this the only Kirin version which is officially supported by Google and thus has kernel source codes and AOSP 6.0 and 5.1.1 source codes available. Although, it's still difficult to port as RIL is the only thing which isn't fixed and requires dirty framework hacks.
As for P9, from kernel source codes, you might be able to compile kernel compatible with CyannogenMod and also might be able to get it to boot but the Huawei proprietary stuff such as NFC, Fingerprint Support, etc, they will never ever work because they rely on source codes which unfortunately Huawei are not obliged to release. And yeah, you'll lose Leica features and other proprietary camera things. If you love CM or AOSP and can't live without that, stay away from this device or you'll regret your decision.

- Huawei has an official Bootloader Unlock Program for all their devices so don't worry about that.
- Kernel Sources - Under the GPL they'll be released but they would be a complete mess. For all the kernel sources from Huawei I have tested so far, none of them compiles. (and you would laugh at literally 10000 C errors that spawn up while building).
- TWRP - You'll get that easily. That's a no brainer.
- You'll lose proprietary stuff for Leica, NFC, Fingerprint Support, IR blaster, and many others. (All this mentioned stuff won't even work)

Those are the only ROMs Huawei HiSilicon phones get. A debloated custom ROM based on Stock. That wouldn't effect any of the proprietary stuff. Only useless apps are removed which do not effect phone performance or capabilities. Personally, I debloat them myself rather than relying on Stock based ROMs. It doesn't make a great difference.

hahaha have been reading and laughing at this pages comments...actually that's why the android gods invented 'LAUNCHERS' i have the P9 and yes there is a little bloat on it but nothing that really makes you think...WOW i really need to clean this device up...yes EMUI is basically IOS with a different title...but it also does have a few quirks worth keeping...every OEM skin does...including touchwizz...and i am no fan of sh!tsung myself and never have been...as for the camera...just about every time i use it i get more and more impressed with it,especially the monochrome mode seriously makes you feel like a professional photographer, build quality is also seriuously good they didn't pull any punches there.the new fingerprint scanner which also maps your fingerprint ridges in 3D...is even more impressive than the one on the nexus 6p,it has NFC which means when USA finally get a version available it will support android pay, huawei said that the lazer auto focus means you do not need OIS and so far after a few days they are correct, shooting video...different story it's really needed for that...and no 4K recording which is a bummer,if it had these two options in the specs it may well justify the price tag

Hello all,
I would like to use a Honor 4x (Cherry) Cyanogen ROM (this one) for my Y6 SLT-L01. I figured it would be possible based on this thread of someone making a TWRP recovery for the Y6 based on the Honor 4x.
At first I just tried flashing the zip from TWRP, but the updater_script stopped me with a :
"This package is for device: c8817d,g620s,C8817D,C8817E,G621-TL00,G620S-UL00,G620S-L01,Che1-CL10,Che1-CL20,Che1-L04; this device is Honor4A."
And so I opened up the cm-13.0-20160504-NIGHTLY-cherry\META-INF\com\google\android\updater_script and removed the assert line spitting out the error, but now I just get a rather non-descriptive:
"Error flashing zip '/(emmc or sdcard, neither works)/cm-13.0lkdslk;lasd-NIGHTLY-cherry.zip'" - full log is attached below
I compared the build prop of my device, and that of the ROM I want to flash, and most of the items look pretty similar or compatible. For example, the ro.board.platform is msm8909 for my device and msm8916 for the ROM.
I've also attached both build props below.
At the end of the day, my question is: Is it possible to hack something quick that will let me use this ROM with my phone because the hardware is so similar? I would rather do that then set up a whole android ROM development build environment. Any advice would be appreciated.
maybe someone here can port it, btw has kernel sources of Y6 released??
Someone can do it, but he needs the proper files
without proper kernel sources i think it would not be possible
Kernel source isn't the most important, proprietary vendod files and device tree are crucial

That's good news. I had read on an article that Huawei would support their phones only for 2 years. that's why I worried about this!
If huawei doesn't relase official source code for Nougat. We won't see any custom roms based on it because devs don't have files to build roms. Hopefully we will have Nougat. And maybe some devs would take it as a project.
The P8 was the flagship for huawei.
It has a 930 Kirin chip & 3GB ram - it can definitely handle nougat.
It was only released April last year (13 Months old). Keep in mind it's in the line of flagships, and had pretty much made Huawei recognisable as a competitor.
Huawei must appreciate the phone as it is £300, its not exactly dropped in price dramatically.

True. Our Recovery isn't that all stable and consistent. I am not really expecting too much from this phone since its a budget device, and I got most of the things I want and need to work: root, busybox, Viper4Android. The TWRP is a bonus, even if its in a semi-usable state.
It's great if we can have Custom ROMs, but even just a custom kernel will suffice for now.
OFFTOPIC: On another note, I am hoping that Xposed will somehow work for Android 7 onwards. Even without a Custom ROM, that will open a lot of doors for customization.

Jesus Christ, very good news, but this can mean rip p8lite...usually huawei release kernel when they don't update phones anymore(exept newer ones)... And + i saw that huawei abandon old phones, and sadly our is old... I hope we will still get some updates

Not really... We still don't have device tree or other sources... Bad sadly, they released this kernel, but our roms now are using 4.1, soo we don't get nearly anything new
Ok, bad news... This kernel isn't buildable, no makefile....fck off
Or actually...gnome unrar couldn't unrar normally xd now testing
