Smart Lock Disappeared

Hey everyone so I've had my phone set up with Smart Lock with my Moto 360.. I also have it to be unlocked in Trusted Places such as my home. But just an hour ago it disappeared. Couldn't find a thread on this so maybe its just me?
Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Only Thing I can think of is I updated to the New Google Play Services 6.5.88. Can anyone confirm this if you're on 6.5.87

When I updated mine it took away the face unlock specifically. I uninstalled all updates and reinstalled it again to get the functionality back.

Lol damn Uninstall is not highlighted... Meh

If you are on a custom ROM, then check the Google Services Framework database gservice.db. In the main table there is a switch field to enable hardware location smart lock.
The exact field name is:
location:enable_hardware_geofencing
It has to be set to true for trusted places to work. I have found that it is not always set to true and the smartlock trusted places function simply is not there.
Try clearing your data on google services framework if you don't have face unlock.

Hmm, I am on a custom ROM (Rastapop) and I don't have the Face Unlock feature (I have Smart Lock though). All my apps are updated. How can I check Google Services version, how can I update it and how do I get face unlock again?
I'm running 5.0.2 btw.

Ok Google on Z1

Is there any problem with "Ok Google" on Z1? It does not react when the phone is locked (in standby or even on but locked). This works seamlessly on my Asus Transformer TF701T. Settings on both devices is same.

Have you enable this setting in the "Google Now Launcher" settings, not the xperia home settings, I can't remember exactly which one it is, but it should be under the 'Voice' Settings. It works as I have already tried it.

I don't want to install the Google Launcher. Do I really have to? I don't have it on my other device where everything is fine.

Just install it, set it up and then uninstall it as far as I am aware the feature still exist or really you could just install it, but do not switch to google now, just stay on xperia home.

Ok, I'll try it. I will uninstall it then as I don't want to mess up the device. What the heck is different on the Z1? I'll let you know if it worked.

So I have installed the Google Launcher, went to Settings but the settings are the same as voice settings in OS itself. This did not help, "OK Google" still works only when the phone is on and unlocked...

Use biometrics with "swipe" screen lock?

Hi guys, so I've just updated to Oreo, and I found out that I can't use any biometrics anywhere unless I choose a "secure" screen lock! Is there a workaround for this? I've never used neither iris, nor face recognition nor fingerprint on my phone but always on apps. I can't do this anymore, the thing that bothers me the most is that I switched from Chrome to samsung internet to use samsung pass which of course now doesn't work unless I change my lock settings

Yes I'd like to know this. But I'm afraid the answer is no. Oreo is not a good step for Android in my opinion. There are lots of things no longer implimented or have been made clumsy and complicated.

Yes there is a workaround lol. Root + custom rom and your ready to go

Google assistant not working

After 3 weeks of use, it takes this time to have the Nex3 in good shape, I still have some minor problems like Edison Mail It does not show the number of unread emails in the icon, Twitter freezes when you try to open a link in Brave ...
But the most annoying thing is that Google Assistant does not work well. When I invoke it saying "ok Google" with the unlocked phone sometimes works and sometimes not. I have checked the voiceprint, permissions, I have installed Google services ... Any idea what may be failing?

For me google assistant works fine. No Problems Here. Only Google Pay wont work.
For the not showing Numbers try to change the permissions within the system. I need to manually change it for popups and notifications. The vivo Launcher Blocks anything.

just removed Vivo Launcher and using Nova. No Problems here

Is the launcher still something like bbk.launcher in adb? I remember doing that with my original nex. I really like this phone so far and having Nova I'd be a happy man haha

yeah you have to remove the stock one after had installed third party one .
You can always re-enable the stock one by using adb . Just tried successfully...

Now I just have to figure out my other issue, I can't get this phone to cast to my Chromecast which is weird

I cannot access google assistant when screen is off its working fine when phone is locked but screen is on but not working when screen is off
I have tried all option found on google and my all settings of lock screen are on but still when i say hey google when phone is locked and sceeen is off nothing happend

sounds like a permisson issue. if you can't fix it yourself, your best bet is to contact support and raise the concern with them.
