I have two phones (one is wife's and that one is the problem - oh boy..) - they are the gt-i9000 and had firmware's XXJP2 (a July or August build 2010) and they worked badly. So I wanted to try MIUI and flashed my phone according to instructions and when doing the flash of the speedmod kernel I couldn't boot. The phone just gets to the first screen (the Samsung GT-i9000 words) and vibrates repeatedly: one vibration then a quick 3, repeat. I eventually got that phone to JVH and am pretty happy with it.
Then tried to do same on wife's. Couldn't use 3 button recovery so used ADB to get it in download mode (mistake - I know - I've learned alot since in my research to fix the resulting brick). Eventually got it into download mode again and tried installing MIUI using instructions: flashed the speedmod kernel and got the same vibrations on boot as my phone. So flashed the JVH and now it boot loops. Goes through the boot animation and noise over and over.
Before I bricked the phone I installed the galaxy_efs tar to try to back that up but it didn't get a chance since I bricked it on the speedmod flash (just got the phone-!-computer icons). Got past that. I also, before starting all this, used Titanium Backup to backup all user apps and data (think I didn't do system apps - maybe another error). I think it may have gone to Dropbox (haven't checked - it is her account).
So question: looks like I am supposed to reflash a Froyo 3 file plus .pit file to come out of this. I've downloaded both the JP2 firmware as well as a newer JPY which I thought I would try first. But before repartitioning and all that I'm hoping there is something I can try to get out of the bootloop without the 3 file flash. Hope to try to make sure there's still her data on there, maybe be sure to back up the efs file and stuff. Possible to just try clearing cache from recovery mode or something - has that worked?
Efs file: is that specific to phone or (if I lost hers) can I use the backup from mine since both phones were purchased at same time? I suspect it may be specific to phone but maybe there's a chance not.
Any thoughts on why the speedmod kernel didn't flash correctly on each phone - ending up with a vibrating non-booting phone? I used Odin 1.82. I would like to try MIUI but can't seem to get past that kernel step.
thanks, JD
Hi All,
I have a problem and I ask for your help. I was searching the forum for a solution but could not find one. I have soft bricked my Galaxy Tab. I have a P1000N and it was updated with official Gingerbread via Kies and with a rooted kernel via Odin. I have installed also on it Superuser and Busybox Installer applications from the Market.
I have made that mistake that in the sbin directory the v1.16.2Androidminimal Busybox was installed by this custom kernel but via the Install Busybox I have installed 1.18.4 and after rebooted the device it will not load. I can access the download mode but the recovery mode will not load.
Is there a quick way without loading back a Firmware? Maybe somehow load back the old Busybox? If yes, please list the steps. Since only this causing the problem. The device is recognized as an USB storage but I can not access the content. Probably because it should load further in order to do that.
In case the only solution is that I have to flash the ROM via Odin I have also a question:
PDA: P1000NVFJP5
PHONE: P1000NUBJP3
CSC: P1000NUUBJPA
I have found this ROM image P1000NUBJP7_UUBJP7_UBJP3. Since I see UBJP3 will this work or shall I look for other ROM? I do not want to hard brick the device.
Thank you all for your help!

Hi All,
Okay. I was a bit impatient and solved the problem in the meantime. I was thinking to solve it with ADB put, but I am not sure if it would have worked.
So the solution was that I have loaded from Samfirmware the previously mentioned firmware but, it booted but the Country Specification Codes (only 3 Latin American languages + English) for my local country (European country) it was not included and some system applications (for example Email) were crashing continuously. First I rooted again the device with the custom kernel via Odin.
Luckily I have made a complete backup when the system was working via Clockwork and copied on my PC, so what I did:
I created a new folder under clockwork and pasted this two files from the backup: system.img and boot.img then I have edited the nandroid.md5 file and only left this two entries with the MD5 codes. The other three were removed from the file since I did not want to restore the applications (data.img), cache (cache.img) or datadata.img.
I started the restore and after it finished my local language was available.
I have found later the article which mentions that it is risky to update the Busybox in case of rooted kernel to a new version due to the scripts it is running. I have learned the lesson.
My i9305 LTE is caught in a boot loop (just loops the start-up screen of any ROM I install). I have access to CWM recovery v6.0.4.5 and also download recovery.
The only thing I can think that might have caused this was when I installed Archidroid I (foolishly?) selected the only partition that wasn't ext4, to be set as ext4. It's not booted past any of the bootscreens on any ROM since I did this.
I've tried wiping all data and cache and also doing a data/factory reset and every "clear data" option available and I'm still caught in a boot screen loop on any ROM I try.
I've formatted each of the folders on the device by mounting and formatting (I don't need to keep any data on the phone) and then to get a new ROM on the phone I've inserted an SD Card, mounted it in CWM recovery and installed it from the .zip that way, all ROMs I've tried just lock up at their boot screen, it just loops over and over.
I've searched this forum and on Google but cannot find a solution or anyone with a similar issue, most that have had a similar looping problem say they performed an Odin factory reset, which brings me to my next question.
I don't know the region of my phone as I cannot access the dialler or any of my settings to find out the region, and forgot (as I rooted so long ago). I do have on the back of the phone the codes:
FCC ID: A3LGI9305
SSN: -I9305GSMH
as well as my IMEI #
How do I know my phone region, and which firmware/rom would I use to perform a full factory reset to at least get it booting again?
Any tips/ideas please, that would be much appreciated.

what country do you live? the region is the country you live in, just search for your official firmware on sammobile or samsung update site. and download the firmware for your country, flash it with odin.
also update your recovery to the latest available in your case cwm 6.0.4.7

Hmm... Good question. I understand your issue here but im afraid i cant answer this.. While it was working what firmware was running on it? What baseband? If you have any kind of info of the working firmware, analyze it with firmwares on those sites and try to find the one you need.

Well I was in the same pickle
whicever 4.3 rom i flashed through odin i got stuck in boot logo or even if i recovered device from odin through emergency frimware and intillation
Also tried customs 4.3 roms stuck a boot logo
Here what u should try and what i did
1 flash philz recovery + 4.1.2 rom
if it works back up efs
2 Using Philz recovery wipe data factory reset + wipe cache + dalvik cache
3 in mount and storage section format everything ( THINK THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP )
4 Used odin to flash a 4.3 stock package it worked ( note u may get knox from this u may try a modifed stock package if u dont have knox and dont want to get it )

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give that a shot tonight. I'm able to get into CWM as explained, mount and format everything so I'm not sure that this step will make a difference, but I'll do it again anyway.
So I'll see how it goes tonight. Actually been quite refreshing without a phone these past couple of days

I managed to fix it, but it had me totally stumped for a while.
I flashed philz recovery and then formatted all of the directories as I'd done previously on CWM.
I tried Slim Rom which didn't work.
I ended up tying CyanogenMod stable which actually worked, it got past the boot loop phase! - I was glad to see a setup screen after 2 days!
I then had another issue with my Cell Reception not working, no data or reception would be shown.
This seemed to happen since I tried a KitKat ROM, as I remember before the bootloop it did this on a couple of ROMs I tried to manually enter the APN over and over and it wouldn't let me save it, very annoying.
I checked the baseband in the about phone section and it was being displayed as "unknown", luckily I remembered my baseband # from when I rooted the phone about 8 months ago (XXBLL3), then I found on this forum a list of 9305i baseband downloads as .zips so I was able to load up CWM and flash it, reboot and it worked!
I will be keeping with CM Stable (10.1.3) for a while now.
I hope this helps someone else that might run into a similar issue.

Cheers on getting ur phone fixed but after wiping all directories a stock rom flash would have cleared all the problems
lol i just did this to my phone, time to find a stock firmware.
Today I want to taste the original ViperOne,so I downloaded the ROM on official webbsite.
After flashing the ROM,my phone have boot loop issue,so I flash the kernel and success into the system.
I found everything work fine but the mobile network didn't work. The system display baseband was unknown but it shows normally in bootloader. And the ROM didnt flash Sprint files automatically ,I didn't find any option about Sprint in aroma.
How can I solve this problem that I have never met.
Thanks!

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406330 and get the latest radio, it shouldn't bootloop any more after that.
Greetings all
I went ahead and rooted my T-Mobile Variant NOTE 5 using Nobel Kernel everything worked out great at first I went ahead and installed Xposed installer and flashed the sdk22arm64 and that's where the issue came the phone will not boot up past T-Mobile screen it restarts and restarts it also states that KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
I tried to flashing the same kernel file again via Odin says it flashes but bootloops still persist this is the file I used Noble_Kernel_Auto-Root_N920T_v0.1_Rebuid3.tar.md5
I tried to flash stock firmware but for some reason every time I select any file other than the one above Odin freezes and closes ( Not responding) could anyone point me in the right direction to fix this issue I still have TWRP installed unfortunately no back up is there
all the help is appreciated my device is useless at the moment
I've wiped everything from TWRP / WipeCache and even factory reset and lost all data now still nothing, deleted TWRP and factory reset hoping it'll just go back to stock and same thing happened just bootloops
Anyone help ?
