Can anyone provide the stock kernel for G920AUCS4CPF1? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

i think i may have bricked my phone by flashing an older kernel for 5.1.1. can anyone provide the kernel for the current build G920AUCS4CPF1 so i can flash it? that'd be excellent, thanks in advance!!!!

Try this guide:

Recommended Stock ROM for GNote (India)

I am very new to this forum. Recentely I have purchased GNote - Indian version. This is my first Android device.
Installed firmware / stocke ROM details as below:
Baseband Version: N7000DDKL1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKL3-CL793489 [email protected]#2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XXL3
I think above is the latest / updated firmware / stock ROM available for Indian GNote.
I want to update it to the latest / stable firmware / stock ROM version (I don't want rooting). Can someone please guide me by providing step by step details?
Thanks in advance

If you want custom rom then you need root, otherwise you hav to use pc odin, which will raise flash counter n you will lose warranty, n that needs JIG hardware to reset.
You have option to flash any stock ROM, above said link is best choice to download stock ROM. You will find installation guide on same thread, post #2 n 3.
Btw i m in india n using latest German ROM la4 n is much stable.

Hi Dr. Ketan. Thanks for your reply. I don't want to lose warranty and I don't want to rooting the device. I want to install latest stable samsung official stock ROM which may be available in another country. In that scenario what will be the recommended steps?

Install Latest version of Kies.
download the Stock ROM from the above link (i prefer LA4)
extract it and you ll find one .md5 file
download Odin from same link
attach downloaded .md5 file to PDA tab
in Odin make sure Re-Partition is UN-ticked and do not select any pit file. rest of them let it be.
now turn off your device
restart in download mode by pressing Volume down + home + Power after that just press volume up to confirm download mode
connect Device to PC via data cable (now you can see yellow block in Odin)
now press Start and wait for complete boot.
Thats it....
(Flashing this ROM will not erase any DATA)

In that case also, you can have XXLA4 german ROM, which counts as most stable stock ROM.
Ranjan.alva have gave you a link, just above this post, follow it, you can get installation guide, How to flash ROM with odin on same thread post#2
EDIT : Ranjan have already edited his post n made easy for you. just follow it. still you have any doubt, you will get image guide on same thread post # 2
Thanks a lot both of you. Now I have one question if I upgrade to XXLA4 German ROM weather I will get future update (like ICS) via OTA? Or every time I need to install updated firmware via KIES or Odin?
And after upgrading to XXLA4 german ROM if I want to go back to the earlier stock ROM (XXL3) which already installed how can I do that?

M posting new guide in evening about how to update rom, stay tuned to my development section thread ' how to root ....'
If you install LA4, you wont get update over OTA or even with Kies, you have to update it with odin.
The way which you will update la4, same way with odin you can revert back to xxkl3

[Galaxy S GT-i9000] Rooting attempt failed, need help

Hi all,
I've tried searching the forums but unfortunately my search did not turn up anything that specifically addressed how to tackle my problem. I'm generally quite bad with computers/phones/etc., and unfortunately my first attempt at rooting my phone didn't work out. My husband isn't good with phones either. It got stuck in a boot loop and I had to flash a factory firmware to recover the use of my phone, which took me a few hours to understand and perform. (All the data however was wiped, but thankfully I had backed my data up beforehand).
I am still interested in rooting my device, but am now afraid that I will screw it up again. I was hoping someone could please help me out as I do not want to permanently damage or lose all my phone's data again. Here are the details of my phone, please let me know what I need in order to root it. I will provide any other information necessary.
Model: GT-I9000
Firmware version: 2.2.1
Baseband version: I9000ZSJPG
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
[email protected] #5
Build number: FROYO.ZSJPG
Thank you for any help provided. I would really appreciate a step by step guide if possible, because I'm so inept at dealing with these matters, and unfortunately my husband isn't much help either. Thanks all.
U need to update to the latest versoin available in your country...
If it is 2.3.6 then u can root it using odin3_v1.0
U can find a full proof guide for 2.3.6..just google it...
If u dont have 2.3.6 then also google it..download and flash it...and then root it...

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I tried flashing to 2.3.6 using odin3v_1.7 but I got the same problem with a boot loop again! I have flashed back to the factory firmware again, and am back at square one. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thank you for your reply though.

If you are still on 2.2 .1 just connect it to KIES http://www.4shared.com/file/rcHB94q3/Kies_23212064_10_1.html and let it update it for you..IF it works without any problems.
or else you may have failed to Format your SD card and factory reset before flashing using odin and also do a wipe after flashing in recovery mode.
or you may have ticked repartition in Odin? that cause the boot loop

Working trying, very simple steps to:

To Root: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...-i9000-rooting-gt-i9000-2-3-3-india-ddjv9.47/
To Install ICS [4.0.4]: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...wich-4-0-4-in-samsung-galaxy-s-g-t-i9000.125/
Thank you very much everyone! I really appreciate all the suggestions, will try them all out later tonight and let you guys know how it worked out.
You guys are awesome. =)
If you want to root GB, any version, use superoneclick. Works great, but you wont have a custom recovery that can flash update.zips. Or you could just flash a rooted kernel via odin so you get cwm and other features such as bln, cpu scaling etc. Also if you want to go to ics, flash an ics kernel, boot into recovery flash any ics rom and your good to go.
Good Luck!
Hi,
Personally I flash a Darkyrom GB ROM (you can find it on his website). Best part about it is you dont need to be rooted to flash his ROM. Try searching for 10.2 RE JVU on his website. All you need is a .tar file and flash it via odin. I think TotallydubbeHD has a video tutorial on youtube as well.
Trust me, its safe. I have flashed it countless of times
Thank you so much everyone! It finally worked! Everyone has been such a great help, thank you so much everyone. <3

This what you need to follow:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756030&postcount=2
You have to flash a pre rooted firmware in ODIN PC and the from there you can flash your current firmware with a CF-Kernel with Mobile Odin your kernel is listed in there. Just read carefully.

[Q] Reverting to Stock Kernel

Hello everyone,
For the past week i have been messing around with different kernels on my HTC One 4.2.2 running the Stock ROM. I have tried a couple of different kernels and although they do provide a fun experience, especially with overclocking and what not, i would like to return to the Stock kernel. I have tried to find out how to do that but i haven't reached a conclusion.
At the moment the problem is that i cannot find the stock kernel.
I have heard something about pulling the stock kernel from a full download of the stock ROM, but to be completely honest, im not all too sure about how to do that, and I don't want to make a stupid decision and end up bricking my device.
So, can someone please tell me where or how i can get the stock kernel for the HTC One 4.2.2 Stock ROM?
If there are any special ways to flash the kernel that would be great. (As far as i know just flashing it through the custom recovery works fine)
Thanks

Hey,
I had a quick look at the link you sent me through the pm, and I think you may have sent me the stock recovery, while I am after the stock kernel.
From what i've seen the kernel should be a .zip file, while the file in the link you sent to me was a .img.
Thanks though, but I am after the stock kernel and not the stock recovery.
Thanks

You can extract the stock kernel from the stock ROM found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752
it's based on:
Code:
HTC update build 2.24.401.8
Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 (JDQ39)
HTC Sense 5.0
Release status: release-keys
Kernel: 3.4.10
EDIT: I just saw that part

Though I don't think that's the problem, but here you go:
fastboot flash boot boot_4.19.401.9.img
It's probably something else that is not allowing the OTA, what kind of error do you get?

it means the file isn't 100% stock, and therefore the OTA cannot proceed.
As an example, the updater script from 3.62.401.1 to 4.19.401.8 has this:
Code:
set_progress(0.509804);
apply_patch_check("/system/lib/modules/ansi_cprng.ko", "44015172e4f2d836a602b873f6ad4ea428ecd0eb", "46d3269597bfaac74ed9be80c39f49ca1b1ececb") || abort("\"/system/lib/modules/ansi_cprng.ko\" has unexpected contents.");
so at about 50% of the system checks, it is checking the file you mentioned, and finds it has a different SHA-1 hash than what it expects. (this file was probably changed by the custom kernel, as well as other files)
so you need to set all modified files back to 100% stock.
I guess there are two possible ways:
1- if you have a 100% stock nandroid backup before installing custom kernel, restore that
2- find a stock 4.19.401.9 ROM, and flash it.

No chance it will work, zero!!
I just had a look at ElementalX, and it changes a lot of files!
so the above two options are the only ones you have if you want to take the OTA.

I Need the DOK2 Stock Kernel. Anyone able to help me out?

I have looked everywhere on this site and online that I can think of and no one has to download the for stock kernel for the N910T 5.1.1 Lollipop [DOK2] ROM/firmware that came out a long time ago. Does anyone on here have it and can post a link so that I can download it? I need to for a setup I am building on my phone and I have everything I need except it. I wasted the whole weekend looking for it so if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I figure that someone has it on their PC from a long time ago. I use TWRP if that helps. Just looking for the kernel in a .zip format so I can flash it in TWRP. I tried to figure out how to extract it, but all I have is a stock.img.tar ROM with no way of extracting a kernel that works with the knowledge I have.
Anyways, I would greatly appreciate it and this thread and another copy of it I will post in android development are my last available effort to find the 5.1.1 DOK2 stock kernel.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Thank you! Much appreciated. I wish I knew of a place where someone kept a repository of all of the stock roms/images, kernels, modems, bootloaders, etc... for each phone. Getting hard to find that kind of stuff now. All the links are dead in old posts. If anyone knows of a place like that please post here and let me know! Also anyone know how I can get this stuff from a .img.tar stock rom file myself? I looked around and couldn't find a way to do it that worked when I was trying to find the stock kernel for this.
Thanks again!
Can't find Unmodified Stock Image of DOK2
The only one I was able to find on here without a dead link was an already deodexed on. Anyone have one I could download from you?
