rooting G800F without USB cable? - Galaxy S5 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i have a Samsung galaxy S5 mini SM-G800F with a defect micro USB slot.
I am using two batteries and an external charger to keep running the phone. It works fine for me until now...
I want to root my phone (without USB cable ) and tried "towel" and "kingroot", both have no root strategy for my galaxy. Is there any similar app that is capable to root a S5 mini?
Is there another way to root it? over WLAN (saw a way to ADB over wlan)?
Thanks to any info!! :fingers-crossed:
Android Version: 5.1.1
Base Version: G800FXXU1BPC3

I don't think so... But if you downgrade to and old KitKat version maybe one of the apps you've tried may work. If you don't have root and have a broken USB then you can't downgrade either, sorry...

[Q] TV out makes my Galaxy S reboot

Hi,
My Galaxy S reboot when I plug the TV cable in the jack (the nokia's cable) while TV out is activated.
Any idea to correct this?
(right now I don't use OC/UV)
my config:
Kernel: Super Optimized Kernel 4_7_4 STABLE
ROM: XXJPX_Doc_V5.1 (could be the matter)
You say its a Nokia cable on a Samsung phone .
Compatible ???
thats what i would check first .
jje
I checked it on an other thread, the cable is compatible. It should work as it does for other. I guess this is related to my old ROM, maybe I should update it.
thx for replying

[Q] Trouble Rooting Spring Galaxy Tab

I am at wits end trying to root this Sprint Galaxy Tab. I have tried Z4 (didn't work...the screen simply turns white), then I tried the "UNIVERSAL" unlock that is advertised on THEUNLOCKR.COM and in the ROOT guide in the GENERAL forums...all goes well up to the sync with Keis when it tell me that I need to "Reconnect the device in Samsung Keis (PC Studio)...). I try to define this in this, but the "USB" option is completly missing...
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab
Hardware -P100.08
Kernal - 2.6.32.9
Build Number - SPH-P100.EB28
The tab is not currently connected to the sprint network.
Any ideas on how to get this puppy rooted? Or...is there a link someone can point me to?

I used this less than 20 mins ago for my newly purchased P1010
The instructions are pants - but it does work.
I just got my Galaxy Tab back from Samsung after bricking it.
Before Samsung fixed it I had Baseband: P1000DXJM2
After Samsung repair it is P1000DXKM1
Before I bricked I had used SuperOneClick to root it successfully, I had also successfully applied the SGT-Bootloader-Patch-v1.00.apk
Now when I try to do use SuperOneClick to root it again it just sits at - waiting for device.
Windows keeps saying that SuperOneClick (tried versions 1.7 & 1.91) is not responding and I have to kill the program.
The instructions to connect to Kies then unplug the Tab, switch on USB debugging and then plugin again to let Kies try connecting seem to no longer work as switching USB debugging on means the Kies connect option no longer exists.... Bear in mind I did this successfully on my tab previously with no problem but now no joy.... hence I think this tab firmware is locked....
Does anyone have any advice ?
Thanks

Root KL3 without USB

Hi guys. I need to root my girlfriends N7000 to SIM unlock it and eventually change the ROM. Somehow, she managed to damage the USB port and it only charges but connecting the phone to a PC wont detect it so I can't root using a PC.
My question is, are there still any apps like z4root to root the phone without USB?
The phone is on KL3,
Thanks!
The only way i remeber to root the gb is by pushing a cf-kernel into the fone and it can't be done without connecting it to pc

find a way to upgrade to ICS may be through OTA or somehow.. then there are lots of ways

[Q] Galaxy Tab S 10.5 not reading GoPro Camera via USB OTG??

Hi there. Im just wondering and looking for possible reasons/solutions as to why my Galaxy Tab S doesn't read or recognise my Go Pro Camera when I connect it via a USB OTG cable.
It's confusing because using the same cable, my Galaxy S5 recognises and reads my Go Pro but the Tab doesn't??

The device kernel probably needs to be patched for it (could be wrong as I don't have a Go Pro to test). If you find any kernel patch/information on this, I might be able to help. But that would require you to flash a custom kernel and rooting device etc.
that doesn't make any sense because why does it work when I connect it up to my phone then??
same kernel, same OS.

As apossibility, makes perfect sense to me
No. Not same kernel. Different firmware drivers and hardware.
