Unable to install TeamViewer QS add-on on CM11 - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I've installed the last nightly build of CM11 (11-20160612) on my Samsung Captivate, then TeamViewer Host. Everything works fine and I can connect my cell with TV.
If I try to get remote access, a message on the cell invite me to install Quick support add-on. After few seconds : error : app not installed (without any details). I install "QS add-on : Samsung" from Google Play Store but no change.
Some messages in forum propose to get the apk from download directory and manually move to \sys . The "downloaded apk" doesn't exist in my case.
My cell is rooted and SU installed.
Any idea ?

[REQUEST] Make sideloaded APKs appear as if they were installed from Google Play

I came across this guide that explained how to get a sideloaded apk to work with Android Auto.
It got me thinking, there are always some apps that don't respond well to integrations due to the getInstallerPackageName() method of checking the install source.
Would someone be kind enough to create a module that does this so we do not need to connect our phones to the PC every time we update the APK just for a few apps?
There's no need to connect to your computer (and neither for a Magisk module, really). You should be ably to simply run the command in a Terminal emulator instead (without the ADB shell part).
As Didgeridoohan said and you could try as
Code:
pm set-installer "PACKAGE" "com.android.vending"
Replacing PACKAGE with the package name of app installed already you want to change its installer to Google Play.
Can't you do this in titanium backup by clicking on the app and going to special features tab and clicking attach to market?
This pm set-installer didn't work for me. What did was just installing the package (as root , not sure it's needed) with:
pm install -i "com.android.vending" <apk>

QQi - "The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name"

I previously had a Note 3 (Android 5.0) where I used QQi, an instant-messaging and social-networking application primarily used by Chinese people.
When trying to install from Play Store on the Note 8, I get "Error code -505".
So I tried to download the APK manually and install it, but I'm told "The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name". The package name is "com.tencent.mobileqqi". I can't find any existing package of that name on my device.
I tried a few solutions found online, like restarting then immediately running the installer, or turning the secure start-up on/off. But nothing worked. Has anyone been able to get QQi working on the Note 8? Any general tips for resolving such "package conflicts" errors?
Finally found the problem via ADB (enabled debugging and tried to install the package with "adb install" which gives more clear error messages). Seems QCloud (which was already installed) had registered a permission and QQi was trying to re-register it. So the error message displayed in Package Installer was not very helpful or accurate. Uninstalled QCloud, installed QQi, then re-installed QCloud. This works now

Call and Message continuity on LTE S5E

Hey guys,
I got myself a new Tab S5E LTE ( to have data connection). However I dont find "Call and message continuity" anywhere. Supposing its only for the wifi version. Which is pointless as LTE doesnt mean phone if you have a dataonly card.
Is there any way to get the feature to the LTE s5e tablet? I rooted it and tried installing APK but it still says "failed"
Thanks!
Robin
copying APK to system app worked. However I cant login to Samsung account . - login failed.
Howto get Call and Message Continuity on S5E LTE
Hey,
I finally got this working.
First you have to root your S5E ( Instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...samsung-galaxy-tab-s5e-sm-t725-t3926742/page2 )
Then download the APK for call and message continuity from internet, copy it to device.
Boot your tablet in "Rooted mode"(vol up and power)
Install the APK via "FX Explorer" with root addon enabled (click on open with and then select FX Root installer, will fail ). Then in FX Explorer copy the app to /system/app/ ( create a new folder, mine is called . CMC). Reboot phone into magisk mode again - it should be visible in settings now. However if you click to enable it you cant as you currently cant add your samsung account.
Reboot your tablet once more, this time in "normal" unrooted mode - add samsung account - done.

Please specify: China only device with Harmony, not with EMUI.
On Chinese models, GMS should be fully functional, as far as I know.
Well, as i've searched on youtube it's complicated to sideload GMS on HarmonyOS for chinese devices, no matter if it's Mate 40 Pro or P50 Pro, it's complicated...

it is a big step ahead, hope someone will find out the complete solution. how about downgrade to EMUI 11 and try the steps one more time?
Hi!
I'm using Mate 40 Pro (C432 - HW-EU => NOH-N29).
It's rather easy to downgrade using the HiSuite from EMUI 12 down to 11.
In my case I'm setting up the Hi Suite Proxy (3.3) downloaded from it's official page:
Releases ยท ProfessorJTJ/HISuite-Proxy
Modifying HiSuite and manipulating it's connection data to install Roms before they officially get released. - ProfessorJTJ/HISuite-Proxy
github.com
Just install HiSuite, Hi Suite Proxy, patch the HiSuite, start up the phone and connect.
I additionally turned on the Programmer Mode in the phone.
Once connected via HiSuite, in the UPDATE section, except the UPGRADE (if available) it allows to install another variant -> in my case it's allowing to DOWNGRADE (Roll-back) down to EUMI 11 (in my case: 11.0.0.253).
IMPORTANT - it's deleting/erasing all the data, so before ANY actions it's wise to backup the files on the phone.
After downgrading I was trying many methods:
- LZPlay / G-Play,
- Googlefier,
- MicroG (several variants, including the one where it allows to use different 'ID's' -> i.e. Nexus X5 (which worked partially in opposite to other sollutions).
- LightHouse -> variant available on AppStore (Huwaei) isn't working, but the one downloaded from this forum did allow me to create the Google account.
Unfortunately any mixes/fixes of GPS, GFS, Account Managers, Google Play Store - are recognizing and forgeting the accounts, while attempting to remove the MicroG or LightHouse.
Perhaps you can help by explaining how to freeze the MicroG (by ADB?) and I'll be able to move-on.
My goals are:
- make the Android Auto to run;
- make the GApps -> Google Assistant, Chrome (with sync), Google Calendar to work;
