Hey dear Community,
sorry but i translate my question with translate.google.com
And it's like this.
I bought the Alcatel Idol 4 me a few weeks ago.
Super price-performance ratio.
Now I have only the problem that I never in large Internet find a way to root my phone.
I tried already all I know Tools.
I also Kingoroot written an email with the request to find a solution.
I guess that this will take longer so again here the question.
anyone of you an opportunity that Alcatel Idol 4 (6055K) to root?
urgently need a root.
Dear greetings and thanks in advance
Your Jakami99
Would be keen to know too, also a idol 4 (non s) user.

It's a brand new device. I don't think many devs have it at this point.
I think this now impossible. Bootloader fully locked. Unique what we can - search hole in security system of Android 6.0.1. If we found as minimum temporary root - we can unlock bootloader. And forever... Warranty void permamently! So we have no right to mistake.

I seen that my firmware modified (don't know WHO?), but no root...
Probably.... I lost my life, I lost all! Good bye my passwords and google account!
Good bye my all 10000$ that I managed.

I hope this can be rooted at some point!
most likely in 2-3 months
I'll be keeping my eyes open. It really is a nice device. If there were some way to switch the placement of the boom key and power button, it would be ten times better though.

hi
As i noticed , in developer option , you can switch OEM unlocking , which allow bootloader to be unlocked.
So i don't think that is gonna be so hard to do, just patience until someone who know alot start to make some way to root Idol 4/4s
I'm pretty sure the OEM unlock has no function currently as we can't pass fastboot commands to the phone just yet.

There is. You can actually set the boom key to turn on the display, then all you need is the following app to turn the display off:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alinberce.standbytouch
Edit: I just made a post to explain this:

Root is available (on XDA)

Yes, DeckerSU has created a TWRP recovery which allows SU to be flashed. Check the forums for how to root.
I'm sorry but are we just gonna let this pass without comment?

Only the 1.5 can be rooted right now. There is a thread in the developers forum that they are using to post their results. I'm sure that when they root it they'll post in there or start a whole new thread.

If you were lucky enough for them to have given you a hero with 1.5 on it still, you will be able to root it now, so check your software version. Rooting gives you several advantages:
1) You don't have to wait for Sprint to get off it's a$$ to fix a bug.
2) Almost every ROM has been stripped of Sprint's bloatware.
3) Apps 2 SD is a big +. You can have a lot more apps because you are no longer limited by the internal memory of the phone.
4) Wireless tether.
5) Easy backup/restore.
The biggest advantage that is a combination of multiple things above is how fast your phone will be. Now, to be fair I will warn you of some disadvantages:
1) For the most part, you are on your own. People in the community will try to help all they can, but for the most part you need to be able to troubleshoot.
2) Technically, it does void your warranty and is not condoned by Sprint. That being said, if you have insurance you can always just pay $100 and get a new phone no matter what.
3) The reason phone manufacturers do not give you root to begin with is that you can do a lot of damage and really screw your phone up. For almost all things there is a simple fix of just restoring to a backup, except for one case: if you flash a bad radio.

If your one of the many that got in on the Cyber Monday deal for the Moto X 2nd Generation then you may be like me and want to root this phone. Does anyone know if this is possible yet? I can't find anything on it yet so figured I'd start a thread on it.
There are actually a few threads on this already (general & q/a). No luck on root yet...

How confident are you on this? I didn't think there were any phones that root was not possible on. I really don't want to keep the iPhone 6 but I don't have much longer before my return period is up. The only good thing is I have tethering with it

Well I mean I can't say that it will never happen, but these newer phones are a lot more secure and locked down than android phones were a couple years ago. That, and the fact that most users of this phone purchased it because of the amazing motorola features that it comes with, so many users don't have the need or want for custom ROMs.

Tons of phones. My S5 was out for a solid year until geohot came out and saved the day with towel root. This phone could easily never gain root.
Yeah. I think too many ppl are being too negative about root. It might not happen today but I think it will eventually. If Devs can root any of the Samsung Knox filled crap phones than we should have more faith.
Btw, there is a bounty thread started so donate if u can, give a dev more reason to help us.
While I'm missing having a rooted phone, the x doesn't need it IMHO. That's not saying I would root this bad boy immediately though. I'm just happy right now with 5.0. I have other devices rooted to hold me over anyways.
No no not negative. Just being frank with someone who thought every android phone automatically gets root.
I'm optimistic. I pledged money as well.

I have looked over several pages and have not come across anything with good solid information or facts. I have a ATT S5 G870A (S5 Active). It has Android 5.0 on it. I have several questions actually.
1. Can you root this device on 5.0? I cant find anything on an active version. If so, can you point me to some good simplified layman terms instructions?
2. If not, how do I downgrade it.
After getting to a state where it is possible to root it. What do i need to complete that task? I am looking at getting Twisted Lolipop ROM on this device (IF IT IS POSSIBLE). That is the goal anyway. For some reason that ROM sticks out to me after reading about all of them. galaxys5root.com/sm-g900f-galaxy-s5-custom-roms/twi5ted-lollipop-rom-for-galaxy-s5/[/url]
I have watched the video on that site and it doesn't give out hardly any information. I am not even 100% sure it will work on an active on ATT. I dont want to trust some kid on youtube trying to tell me how to flash my phone without knowing if it is correct or not.
I am terribly sorry in advance if it has been asked before, but there are several discussions here, and lots have been updated somewhere in the hundreds of pages of information contained within them.
Thank you in advance,
Josh.
If u have bootloader 0c5 u can down grade then root the active.
If u have bootloader 0f2, 0f3 no u can not. There's no root for those yet.

Thank you. Is there a good way to back up the entire phone that is pretty easy in case I disable something that shouldn't be? I enabled the system processes in developing menu and thy wrestling are a lot of things running and lots of red at the top (assuming that is for the processors). And I don't have a whole phone full of games installed. Facebook, messenger, snap chat, a weather app. Then a few other random apps like a steak n shake app. No games at all.
Hello everyone,
First of i want to mention that it`s my first experience with Nexus device after so many years so don`t blame me
well my friend bought Nexus 6 and it was all good (about hours) then he did factory reset and bad things just started... he was unable to complete setup, he was writing e-mail and pass and it was going back to WiFi select, also he could not skip WiFi select. someone said Google block but i never heard of it (i have z2 which has custom oem os so i don`t think it`s present there). well so how to get rid of that? he also can`t unlock boot because of DEV OPTION check and so on -_-
thanks in advanced

Title says is all really, pretty sure that the bootloader still needs unlocking, just I remember being able to root without unlocking the bootloader, without having TWRP /Clockwork mod in the past.
Tried a few of them with no luck, any way this can be done..
I've kind of given up on the bootloader unlock code and thus the ability to flash a rom (even though Huawei allowed this device to be treble compatible, evil bast****)
Would any exploits work?
Be good to at least get root on this crippled bloatfest excuse for an android device.

Yep I got that pal..
But you've missed the point.
Why?
Unlocking the bootloader was not always necessary.
Certain devices yes but how to know??
Installing TWRP to a partition is impossible without removing the checking system which is inherently what a locked bootloader brings.
But I'm not talking about that, nor am I talking about installing a custom ROM..
Only root, nothing more.

All the "click to root" apps were using certain exploits/privilege escalation vulnerabilities. With Android development those holes were patched by Google on Android level and by most OEMs on their custom versions level.

Honestly, OnePlus 7T pro, it's just a phenomenal phone, all the things im miss are just there and not a sniff of a company locking anything down.
It's butter smooth. I used my pro next to the 7t pro and honestly it's an incredible difference, it's like playing a game at 144hz for the first time, 60 just can't cut it ever again.
I'm going to let this can run down and get the 8, I usually upgrade 2-3 times a year but thought I'd give it a miss this year.. kind of glad I did but it's paining me now as my bootloader is screwed and there's only so much I can do without root.
I'd love to remove the swap memory (page file /zram) but I don't think it's possible.
Swap torpedo did this and the speed increase is amazing.
PS: I wouldn't bother with the S10 it's not as good as the oneplus devices tbh. S11 might compete but it's still Samsung so nah not for me.

I use my banking apps with root.
Things I need.
Root access to files for tweaks.
Page file removal
Bloat removal
Ad removal ( I can't tell you how much I don't like adverts)
Mods that Devs miss (CRT animation, Audio Boost etc)
Custom ROMs: more efficient, faster, feature rich
Latest OS
Early releases
If I didn't mod my phone using root id be bored in weeks (which I am) or I'd buy an IPhone.
First works for me on root, I just agreed when the notification same up.
For the ones that don't, the mobile version of the web page works perfectly for me, dependent on bank of course.
The trade off just isn't worth it for me especially with emui which is abysmally tedious and something I'd love to just delete from history.
