Is there a way to completely reset my I9000? Like the way when you turn it on for the first time. I'm scared that i wont be able to update to official Froyo when it comes out, because i've edited the productcode to get JM2. So, is it possible or not? Thanks in advance!
bummmmpppp
You can't return it to the official state if you have flashed it with a different firmware than the orginal. You can always try to find the orginal ROM for the phone. Chek Richthofen's JM1,6 an 7 threads for CSC etc.
You can always edit the registry to match your orginal product codes to receive the official 2.2 update. Ofcourse you need to remember or find the codes your phone had.
Yeah, thats what i thought too... if someone has the original ones for JF3 could you please post 'em here. Thanks.
Can't you just change the product code in the registry when an update comes out? I think when you do that, Kies will just show you the update and after you flashed it the product code of your phone will be change in the one you entered in the registy. Correct me if I'm wrong.

One way to completely kill everything in your phone before you flash it, is to do a 'hard reset'. This wipes everything from the internal SD card, and you lose everything back to what the phone is like in it's original state, with just the ROM only and the SD card formatted.
Enter the following code into your 'dialer' (as if you're calling someone)
*2767*3855#
Then watch it clean the phone. When it reboots, then you can do your flash after following the ROM maker's instructions.
Hope that helps...
Hi ,
My girlfriend has had her galaxy s for about 4 months i recently flashed darkys rom onto it, with no problems (excellent rom btw), but now the phone has started doing menu and back on its own randomly making it impossible to do anything on it for longer than a few minutes , its like the soft keys are being pressed (but they arent of course).
I've had a google and came to the conclusion its a hardware fault and not software (ive tried factory reset / re-flashing roms/ kernels) but now i have the problem i cant send the phone back to tmobile with a custom firmware so is there anywhere i can download tmobile firmware and stock kernel to make it like when she got it ?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
In the General chat, there is a link to all the stock roms. Select the one you want and install that one. I am on t mobile in the uk and my code is TMU so that will most likely be fine for you.
By the way - Its exactly what I did last month and they fixed it fine for me with no questions...

hi thanks for the quick response , ive already installed a stock firmware but when the phone boots up it doesnt do the tmobile logo now, plus the firmware i have installed, i'm not sure if thats ever been available on tmobile , which firmware did you send your phone back to them with if you dont mind me asking ?
Hi,
I used the JP1 stock rom here. I remember now that once I installed the stock one I used the Kies registry hack to put the latest t-mobile firmware on there. Then it was branded T-Mobile again. The only problem is that now kies has been updated the Registry hack may not work.
If I were to send you a nandroid backup of my original T-Mobile rom (I did that when I got a new one!) Would that help?
CtC
I would blame the rom before the hardware and want a wipe to a very clean phone and install a stock rom .
You cannot download TMobile firmware you need somebody to give it to you unless you backed up your original firmware .
The only way to get TMobiles firmware would be to downgrade your phone to stock Eclair then use Kies to update as normal to Froyo branded TMobile or if that failed use the registry patch .
Fix on a non stock rom is going to depend on the guy that picks the phone up and the problem .

It would be brilliant if you could do that, how can you send it though ?
@ jjegan i have completely wiped the phone, changed the firmware to 2.1update1 same problem still exists with the soft keys randomly pressing themselves thanks anyway .
can any one give me some advice about making this phone look as stock uk tmobile as possible before i send it back ?
Is there a way to do a FULL Reset of the Note 8? Not just a Factory Reset which doesn't seem to be enough - I want to try to reset my Note 8 to how it was when it first came in the box. Removing the Region lock - CSC and whatever else is retained in the phone that is not erased when I do a factory reset.
Right now, when I do a factory reset, when the phone is booting up - it goes into a Android Update/ or system update and it essentially resets the CSC to the same settings it was before I did the Factory Reset. I am trying to circumvent that or prevent it in some way without bricking the device of course...
I am guessing that if I can do this, I can go thru a limited setup of my device and ultimately be able to do an OEM unlock in Developer Settings. This is just a guess for me right now, but that is my thoughts any way -
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Samsung support is no help at all - I contacted them and they will not help me because it is an International Variant. They gave me a number in Europe to call - tried calling, can't get thru .
Flash factory ROM with oden. Have you removed sim card?
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Samsung smart switch for PC or MAC will download and install whatever the ROM supposed came from factory.
There's probably the option in Recovery. Older Samsung phones was to hold the Power and Volume UP til it booted.
Hi community,
My friend gift me a retail demo device,
I delete the app retail and the notify.
My questione now is:
Is possible remove app demo from firmware?
So that if reset the smartphone the apps don't appear again.
Or if is possible flash the rom with rom stock without demo apps, without unlock bootloader.
Can you help me?
Thanks
So I installed an app called CSWE App Manager and disabled some apps/services. Well, I must have disabled something I shouldn't have and my phone is boot looping. It shows the Samsung splash logo and then after a few minutes reboots and repeats.
Here is what I have done so far to troubleshoot:
I have taken out the sim/SD card.
I have booted into recover and wiped cache and factory data reset, but still no joy.
I downloaded new firmware and flashed via Odin. Got a successful flash, but still boot loops even after that. I downloaded this firmware from SamMobile:

I am at a loss for what to do now. Can anybody please help me? I am about to pull my hair out.
Thank you!
I took these screenshots of my wife's phone software info. She has the exact same phone as I do.
Unfortunately you may have to factory reset. Without knowing what the culprit is. If I were you, I would use ADB App Control next time. You can disable and enable with one click. And I would never remove anything unless you are sure, just disable
I tried to factory reset, but no luck. Still boot loops. I didn't uninstall anything, I just disabled. ADB App Control... is that an app?
I'm so frustrated, it successfully flashes in Odin, but still boot loops.
You load it on computer and connect device. It shows every app with the option to ddisable. If factory reset didn't work probably have to flash firmware with odin.

Thank you for the link. I downloaded that firmware and got a pass on Odin v3.14. Still boot looping. What am I missing?
Did you flash BL..AP..CP..CSC
So I flashed via Odin again and this time I didn't select for auto reboot. I powered down after the flash and immediately went into Recovery Mode. As I attempted to do this a blue android logo and status bar came up briefly and then went away, which was weird. Then it let me into Recovery Mode and I cleared cache and factory reset. Still no luck, boot looping.
Yes, I flashed all four of those as the same time.
Since you factory reset, try flashing again with those 4 files. Keep auto reboot selected. Use parched Odin I think 3.13b or patched 3.14
And if you can, show me your download screen
Ok, I did and still boot loop.
No I mean download screen of your device

Mint Mobile
Try to find latest version of odin. Mint Mobile is basically Tmobile. Take sim out and flash the firmware.
I've got Odin 3.13.1 and have the sim/SD card out. Still boot looping even after successful flashes.
Here is the device info that I get when connecting to SamFirm to confirm what my device is currently showing.
Company : TOSHIBA
Model Number : SM-N960U1
Sales Model : XAA
SW Version : N960U1UEU9FVG2
FW Version : 000B
Product : THGAF8T0T43BAIRA
CAPA : 128
DID : 20208BB5CA97FF11
UN : 988F8B48425148474434
I also tried to Boot into Safe Mode. I am not able to shut the phone down while in boot loop, but when booting into Recovery Mode there is a power off selection. When I select it, it just reboots back into Recovery Mode.
When going to SamMobile to download the firmware package, how do I know what country to pick? I see XAA (unknown), AIO (unknown), etc...
My phone is the unlocked US version.
My wife has the same exact phone and it shows this as her software version.
It appears something in my phone is preventing it from booting even though I have successfully flashed stock firmware via Odin. Is there a way to completely wipe my phone via my pc using adb or something and reflash using odin?
I'm not sure what happened. You have done everything that should work. Try different cord, different USB port
A factory wipe should do the trick. Try flashing Tmobile U1 it's unlocked firmware..
Do you remember what you disable? Have you tried your wife's sim? You should be able to flash any unlocked firmware not just XAA they are the same since it provisions to your Sim my play phone is a Note 10+ with mint mobile Sim and it works just fine. Before I unlocked it I used At&t
This is my about phone on my Note 10 + with mint mobile sim
Did you ever use Odin to flash firmware before all this happened?
I have an have always been successful. Its been a long time however, but I used to flash custom roms all the time on my earlier Samsung Notes.
I was told by somebody more experience than I am after trying to flash for me that its an emmc error.
Is this fixable by a repair shop? Worth doing or would it be expensive?
I don't get it. I get a successful flash with Odin.
Is there anyway to fix this? Can the storage on the phone be repartitioned and the stock software reinstalled? I don't see how the emmc could just fail like that. Especially after I was using CCSWE App Manger and disabled apps. Seems very coincidental that the emmc would fail right after doing that. I think I messed up the software with that app. I just don't know how to get it fixed.
