I just don't understand why the screen protector is just as much as the case...

Had one of these for my N6P and it was awful tbh the sides were so loose my phone got dings there with the case on...no idea how it even happened.
And the Screen Protector is too expensive swell

Thanks for that info. I'm still kind of interested in trying it out, but now I'm kinda skeptical.

Honestly i'm using the Cruzerlite Bugdroid case atm and I really like it but it's a little annoying if you're using an all over tempered glass like the Orzly one.

it's just too expensive for what it is tbh and if the sides are loose then i'd be afraid of getting marks again....even though it's somehow already happened with the official OP cases on....those things really don't protect the phone either but I should have known that.

I also have a 6P with a RhinoShield. It does have a little bit of play on the sides, but only if you push/pull on it and it will certainly not come off your 6P unless you really want to remove it... Manually, with force.
RhinoShield is one of the highest quality cases out there. Too many people complain about it simply because it's more of a rugged type case/bumper than a slim profile fit. It's not going to be the most ergonomic, but it's still a great case that's worth the money & the protection. $18 is hardly expensive for a case. Will last a lot longer and offer way more protection from drops than a cheap $8 TPU.
I took a photo of my 6P w/ RhinoShield just the other day..

Which material is the Rhinoshield bumper made of? Metal or rubber or plastic? Is it compatibility with glass protectors? Thanks.

Thanks for that detailed info.
Quick question. So is it necessary to have great rear protection without the Caseguard Screen protector on the rear of your Nexus 6p? Looks great by the way, thanks for the photo. @Andromjb

Hmm....

I had one on my 6P with a dbrand skin on the back. This got rid of any rough edges from the skin. I gave it to my Mom when I got this phone. She drops her phone literally all the time. It's saved it so many times. I actually really liked it an recommend it for anyone looking for a bumper. It always fit great and I just looked at it now to take a picture and it's still holding up great and fits well.

Ordered this the other day. Excited to receive it. It's a bit more expensive than I would normally spend on a case but hopefully it's awesome
sent via op3 and xda-app

has anyone received their rhinoshield bumper yet?

Screen guard is totally worthless..

Also pre-ordered this and I'm excited!
Did you also get this email?
Also, to the Nexus 6P x CrashGuard users: Does it work together with a tempered glass screen protector?

I've also ordered it, thx for the discount code.
I think I will also use a dbrand or slickwraps skin on the back with the Rhinoshield.

Buy a thin smartphone and put a bumper seem to me a sacrilege, it's like going to the beach dressed as firefighter, helmet and oxygen tank included. In such case is more safer and cheap wrap it in a shower towel.

Still haven't received my order yet. The company is even sending me a white bumper & protector free to review. Yet to receive those either.
They were supose to ship in late August but they updated the site which now states, "Pre-Order, Shipping 1st Half of September".

Yep, nothing. They postponed it to mid September

They said on Twitter that they willl ship this week.

I just got my shipment confirmation via Email!!

ZAGG Nexus 7 InvisibleShield

I have always used InvisibleShield on all my devices just because it provides protection against scratches and it doesn't "hide" my beautiful device in a case or make it bulkier than it already is.
Naturally when I got my Nexus 7 I ordered an InvisibleShield for it too. It took ZAGG a few days before they shipped it out and since then it arrived in 3 days. Even now ZAGG still states on their website that they may require a few days to process. It's actually difficult to find the InvisibleShield for Nexus 7 because there are no direct links on the homepage and while it's listed under the devices they support but the link is broken. The only way to get to the page is by searching for Nexus 7 int he search box or click on the link below:
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
When I ordered my InvisibleShield I got the full body version just because I always get the most coverage I can. However, as you will see in the photos below, you may want to just get the front screen cover.
This is the front. Very smooth and fits perfectly.

As you can see, due to the back of the Nexus 7 not being flat and smooth, there are a lot of air bubbles.
The worst is where it says "nexus" and "ASUS" below.
Now I really liked the grip from Nexus 7's back and while the InvisibleShield does NOT make it too slippery, it doesn't grip as well. So I may just take the back off eventually.
Good luck!
I hated zagg on my iphone and will never use that **** again, it's the worst crap I've ever seen. It turns yellow after a while, it orange peels like a mofo and is rubbery as hell. xoskins is the best protector hands down, and I have it on a bunch of stuff, family members as well, with a lifetime warranty can't beat that.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Honestly I don't know what the hell people do to their shields for that to happen.
I've had one on my iPhone almost a year and there's nothing wrong it, one on my Gnex since december and it's perfect, and one on my s3 for the past month that again, is perfect. I just ordered mine for my Nexus 7, can't wait until it gets here.

The InvisibleShield on my old iPhone 3G (a long time ago) did start to turn a little yellow around the edges after about 2 year's worth of use. But since then that hasn't happened on any of my other devices. Maybe they improved their formula.
ZAGG also offers lifetime warranty. If you have a local ZAGG location (usually a kiosk in a mall) you can just bring your device to them and they can install a new one for you and all you pay is for the installation. You can also request ZAGG to send you a new one and install it yourself.
I had a Zagg Shield put on my Galaxy Nexus about 5 months ago at a mall in Maryland at a Zagg Kiosk and it's perfect. They must have gotten better. I really don't like putting the damn things on myself though. I'll see if they can do my Nexus 7 when I'm back in the area.

It's just my 27" iMac.
I've used Zagg once, didn't like the rubbery feel of it and it's way overpriced for what it is, good quality but you can get just as good for much less.
What if you take a needle and pop all the air bubbles on the dimples? I know there is a lot of them but that would probably improve the aesthetics of it.
I have been using ghost armor lately. I have used Zagg before. I really don't like the rubbery feel and orange peel look. They also start to yellow over time. I have a ghost armor kiosk at my mall. They put they on and they look and feel smooth. Best screen protectors I've used so far. They have a lifetime warranty also.

It cost me $20. They were going to charge $5 to install it but I got him to drop that. Best screen protector I have used.
I love the Invisible Shield and similar products. I use Invisible Shield if I am being lazy and just pop over to the mall and have them install it. I get Bestskinsever.com skins if I feel like doing it myself, which I did on the Galaxy Nexus and Touchpad. Both of those I got at the same time and I got full skins for them...won't do that again. The Galaxy Nexus has the bumpy back cover and it looked ugly, and the rounded edges never turned out like they should. The Touchpad was smooth on the back but it, again, had weird corners and I generally put TPU cases on my devices anyways.
I put my GNex through hell, it will need a new screen protector soon due to damages. I can't imagine what the screen would look like without it.
I have gotten to where I can't use a device without the rubbery texture, it's weird...
I've tried several cheaper screen protectors, but after having my ZAGG "heal" after a few scratches, well, I'm dropping the extra 10 bucks from now on. Yes, after a few years,
they can need a change, but a trip to the mall and $5 for installation gets you a new screen. If you don't like the "orange peel" look, don't buy one. But there is no better product
available in my oh so humble and somewhat limited experience.
My Nexus 7 arrived yesterday, I will be installing the ZAGG before the screen leaves the house.
The only people who like zagg are the one's who haven't tried xoskins.

Anyone w/ an LG G4 want to start a dang Bumper Case company with me!!???

Sheeesh this is getting ridiculous that there's maybe 2 out there and both companies look sketchy and they're in china and take weeks, maybe a month, to get (if they even will fit).
Whoever actually does finally mass produce one will make a killing on the leather backed G4 market. Maybe someone at one of the big guys like Spigen, UAG, Incipio, etc. will read this post and get off their butts and get some out there. I think I'm speaking for most of us when I say we don't want a bumper with a clear back so the leather is mushed inside and we can't feel it.
Just saw this one for the iphone. I'd love to see something like this instead of that silly frame thing from zdelco.

I'm with you. I don't want to hide the leather back either but would like some sort of protection on the corners. The profit margin has to be huge. I can't believe nobody has imported a couple thousand or so units, marked them up a couple bucks and made them available on Amazon with reasonable shipping times.

Just got done searching for one myself before heading over here to this forum for any help...you took the words right out of my mouth (or keyboard I guess). I'm sure eventually there's going to be more options, but unbelievable just how few there are at the moment, considering the leather back is one of the biggest selling features of the phone.
I guess I'll have to switch to a plastic back of I want to use a bumper
I dunno never seen a bumper provide any kinda protection so might as well go are

I had a metal bumper on my GSIII that took all sorts of abuse and kept the phone pristine. Why would you think it wouldn't provide protection?

Exactly.... as long as the bumper has nice corners and general layering and around the edge is fatter than the face and back by a few millimeters then your protected from drops. Unless of course you drop it on something sharp not flat which would be rare.
Ballistic made some cool cases imo that would be a nice bumper. The corners were thicker and overly fat, but the rest of the edges fit close to the phone so kept a slimmer feel.
Got my bumper, skinomi tech glass, and my black leather G4 yesterday and I'm happy to report they work together great. Bumper is a little snug but it certainly fits.

Was it tough to get it on? Is it so snug that you think it might damage or leave a mark in the leather? Convenient to take it on and off to swap batteries?

I wouldn't say it was very tough at all to put on but I would guess it's probably easier on a plastic back.
It may leave a depression in the leather after a year or so but I wouldn't guess that's likely.
I'm not sure what your threshold for convenience is so i can't guess. It won't bother me to take it off a couple times a week.

How's the lip on it; does it look like it'll keep the glass from making contact? And also that weird looking white liner inside the bumper looked cheap. Is it fairly solid and even tho it's minimal will it provide some shock absorption ?

Lip is good. It will keep the screen from touching when face down. The liner is certainly minimal. It's like a foam rubber band. It's probably not going to do any shock absorbing but it will keep the metal from rubbing on the plastic. Keep in mind this was only like $7.

Orzly Fusion Bumper Case for OnePlus 3 Pictures

I received the Fusion Bumper Case today and I gotta say after a days use I am delighted with it, I've got it on with the 2.5D Screen Protector and it works no problem. I actually like this more than the Grip-Pro I got the other day, purely because it allows me to show off my phone whilst keeping it protected! Here are some pictures:

Will the thick TPU sides of the fusion bumper turn yellow over time? Because it's already hazy and murky in brand new condition. and you can easily notice the difference in clarity between the TPU sides and Polycarbonate back.

Hi, I have a silicon case and my past experience has been that such cases eventually form a yellow tint.
So will that yellow tint be visible on this case as well?
Or are Orzly cases immune to that? Would be disappointed if after paying a premium amount, I get the same quality.
No Orzly users here? :l
Need to buy a case ASAP, bump.

I have an Orzly flexi case and no, they're not immune to the yellowing effect. In fact, if you turn on the torchlight, the whole case would illuminate in a golden yellow colour.
If you want a transparent case, I'd recommend a hybrid case like the Ringke Fusion. The polycarbonate back would be immune to yellowing and you can choose tinted TPU on the sides, since clear TPU yellows gradually.

Ah, thank you. I'll find a Ringke through aliexpress, since they officially aren't available in India, yet.
Moreover had a Ringke fusion for my OPO long back, still transparent as the first day, no yellow tint there indeed. :good:

case friendly screen protectors for note 8

hey guys
like many here i pre ordered the note 8. i also have a UAG Monarch case pre ordered.
since this is my first phone with a edge screen i noticed that it will be kinda hard to find a good screen protector. for 2 days im looking through amazon to find something but for now it seems impossible to find something decent.
glass screen protectors seem to be really bad on edge phones so i really don't want or need one of those. also because i only get a screen protector for minor scratches and not for other reasons like a shattered screen.
also there are so many cheap asia products which seem to be from the same factory but just rebranded with different names. the protectors, the packaging, everything looks the same except the name on it. mostly them, but also many others got so many fake reviews that i will not buy them ever, even if they were really good, which i doubt.
for example stuff from those companys: supcase, profer, cubevit, g-color, danibos, klearlook, moko, yootech and so on. all fake and crap.
i also looked for a s8+ screen protector just so i can see which brand is good and which one i should get for the note 8 but there isn't even something good for the s8+. WTF!!! even the one from spigen seems to be crap.
so can any one in here recommend me a simple nice tpu screen protector with edge sides covered which will also be case friendly???
i had a s4 before and i took of my screen protector 6 months ago. since then i got many minor scratches even tho i got nothing then my phone in my pockets. so i don't want this to happen with my new phone.
please guys im getting crazy here. only 10 more days to find something. thanks!!!
ok i think i will try this one and hope it will be good.
maybe someone else in here tried this brand already on s8/s8+ and can tell me something about it?
thanks!!

I'm not a big fan of plastic protectors - in terms to protecting against scratches they are better than nothing, but generally suffer from poor oleophobic properties, don't feel as "slick" as glass, and sometimes mark up when using the S-Pen.

+1 glass is much better way to go!
i gave in and had best buy put on an invisibleshield hd on my note 8.. I am pleasantly surprised by the nice feel and so far no spen issues with marking..its case friendly and im glad i had them apply it.. (also price matched for $19.99 from zagg) i went through 2 different tempered glass ones off amazon ..Honestly i think im going to keep this one on for the duration.. it fits perfect and since its case friendly theres no lifting up at the edges.
Bought a tempered glass sp for my note, fits perfect even with the Samsung view case

I don't care if it's edge adhesion, I'm just looking for one that won't let water or dust in. Any ideas aside from whitestone?
Maybe it's too early. Have wait for manufacturers to catch up.

better don't wait. edge phones are here for a long time and it was always the same. nothing gonna change as long as there are no cheap whitestone copys on the market

The one that came with my case is good. No issues with sensitivity and it's clear. Works well and fits perfectly inside the case.

Check out the current thread on whitestone. There's no way I'd pay $50 for one protector. I bought three for a fraction of the price of one of theirs and am totally satisfied with the one I'm using now.

There obviously could be a huge variation in the quality of the sticky-edged/dot-matrix type protectors, but it's difficult to imagine any coming close to the performance of the Whitestone with regard to sensitivity, clarity, fit and feel.
The Whitestone isn't cheap, but it is very good.

Yeah I get that. Using the one that I linked, I honestly can't justify paying the price for whitestone. It can't be 5 times better but costing nearly 5 times more.... It needs to be.

Lol yeah I hear ya. The first one I used was absolutely a p o s.
I'm really happy with this $15 one though
How is about this Ghostek case? How is the sensitivity? Anyone every try this before?

This works well for me.
Note 8 screen protector/cases
I have the Note 8 with a Zagg HD Clear Invisible Shield (not the glass one) and a Otterbox Defender case. Not happy with either. The Defender case pushes on the edges of the screen protector and it peels up. Not too happy with the Otterbox Defender holster. It's flimsy and doesn't hold on to the case very well. I have problems with my phone being popped or pulled out of the holster of something rubs or catches on it. It comes out pretty easy. It's not held in the holster very well at all. Anyway, I just purchased a Whitestone. I hear they're the best glass protectors. As far as compatible cases, I know there are some YouTube videos that people test screen protectors with various cases.

FOUND! Thin Case with CAMERA PROTECTION

Was using the Samsung OEM silicone case but wanted something that was just as slim but also covered the camera glass because it's so big and pops out. Found this $9 case on Amazon. It has front raised lips for drop protection (minimal) and is actually even slimmer than the Samsung case so it feels like it's barely there. Unblock glossy TPU, it is matte black which I also prefer. I have a video of it here next to the official Samsung one: https://youtu.be/fMflVeSzkwU
I just ordered one...I'll let you know how I like it on Wednesday
Looks good. Wish it came with more color options though..
Good luck with the 3rd mic working properly in that case, though.

Not all. I have the ESR Tough Alliance, the Ringke X Fusion and Ringke Air-S. The Ringke cases have some 2mm of space between the camera bump. These cases do not cover the mic. The ESR cases are particularly better for its slanted sides on the camera mic side. It captures audio from the slanted side more effectively.
The Moment thin case is very nice and I think it is what you are looking for. I have it along with several Spigen cases.

You can download the user guide. It's there on page 12.
I went with a case with a sliding cover. By my standards I find the case pretty thin, but I typically go with really rugged cases, so my case thickness standards may differ from yours.

3rd mike useless outside of "scumbag" mode!
BUT! The camera glass shouldn't be covered like that.
Just as you should never put a runner over carpet!
Over time when you think you are protecting what's underneath you will find you're doing far more damage.
Why? Dirt gets underneath and will abrade the hell out of the glass.
I'll take my chances, sorry.
Ditto for screen. Can't stand having protectors over screens, ESPECIALLY curved screens. And too, they literally wreck the FP reader action.
JMHO, of course.

I ordered the version of this case with the built in ring stand on the back. Not only are you totally right about the danger of the camera glass getting scratched, but the entire case had no interior protection material to keep grit or dust from scuffing up the phone itself over time. It also didn't fit snug enough to make this issue moot. Immediately returned....
I ordered the LATERCASE its thin but still covers the camera Bump, has been shipped and my note 20 ultra won`t be delivered until the 19th so we`ll see how it goes.

Aliexpress for a cheaper price. Be ready for a long delivery period though of at least a month if not more.
