You are welcome , ok ty i will add it
Only because this isn't obviously stated:
TWRP does see your external sd card. That being said, those of you who are already rooted can download these files (su and twrp fix zip) to your external sd card. Also use titanium backup for your apps and save to that same sd card. When you format storage, you can install fix and su from the untouched sd card. Once you're booted and set up, use titanium backup to restore your apps.

I was able to access the internal storage in TWRP at this point. You can check it by going to Install ---> Select Storage ---> Internal Storage.
EDIT: Do you mean how can you copy the zip files to the Internal Storage while still inside of TWRP?

he changed the update script. the official cm flashable zip checks for the codename "p880". since its not the correct codename for our phone ("x3" is correct) and all our recoveries use that codename "x3" its not flashable. what he did is changing "p880" to "x3" in the update script (in the first line) or he completely removed that check
Wasn't easier to just use the official CWM from the CM team? Unless you use twrp ofcourse

4. Flashcm-10.1-20130416-NIGHTLY-p880.zip from sdcard
But i've got an error status 7 . Now my phone wont boot, and i can't copy this fixed zip file. What can i do?

Restore the backup you made in step 2, install newest official CWM via ROM Manager (download it from play store if you don't already have it) then boot back into CWM and install CM again.
---------- Post added at 08:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:37 PM ----------
Also I honestly don't see any real benefit to this thread when installing official CWM solves the status 7 issue and allows for OTA updating of CM instead of having to wait for the OP of this thread to upload a fix every single day...
argh

I was afraid you were gonna say that! You can still boot into CWM though right? If you can, and your computer has an SD slot, just take out your external SD card and put it into an adapter and put the fixed version from this thread on that, then you can just install it from the external SD in CWM.

from CWM you can install via sideload ...
or harder way- reflash stock, root it, download rom manager, install newest cwm via it, copy files, flash in recovery

Installation Instructions:
U need to already have updated to 6.5.27 stock rom either full flash or update ota.
Because zenfone 4 got no custom recovery yet so this is meant to be flash from pc/laptop so u need to have pc/laptop.
Backup your data eg contact, sms, calendar, photos etc.
U need to install Intel android driver.
U need to have adb and fastboot tool, can download from my link below. Just extract the archive, ADB_FASTBOOT.7z somehere in root of drive eg in C or D.
Extract the rom, u will get system.img around 1gb in size. Put it in the same folder as adb and fastboot above.
Boot phone into droidboot mode by pressing volume up+power button together.
Connect phone via usb cable.
Open the adb and fastboot tool folder and double click on OPEN.CMD. Windows terminal will open.
Type in the terminal to erase cache
Code:
fastboot erase cache
and press enter.
Type in the terminal to erase data
Code:
fastboot erase data
and press enter.
Type in the terminal to erase system
Code:
fastboot erase system
and press enter.
Now to flash system, type in the terminal
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
and press enter. Flashing system would take around 10minutes.
After success flash system, if u want root need to flash supersu. Download and put ASUS_ZENFONE_ROOT.zip in the adb and fastboot folder and type in terminal
Code:
fastboot flash update ASUS_ZENFONE_ROOT.zip
and press enter. Phone will reboot automatically and will flash the root zip, then it will reboot again into system. First boot would take longer to generate dalvik etc.

actually i'm not really into roms, more into kernels. thats why the rom is just deodex and few changes only, no new added features. hated smali editing.
been waiting far too long for asus to unlock zenfone 4 bootloader so that i could compile kernel myself.

Thank you for your contributing in zf4.
I have one question;
How can I revert back to stock firmware?
Can I flash a full stock f/w directly via droid boot menu [sd download]?
Not sure about sd download option in droidboot, never use it before but what i always did to get to full stock is by downloading full rom zip from asus server, extract it to get another zip, copy it into internal memory via usb cable and when removing usb cable will get notification to update.

You can install Gravity BOX and Xposed framework to your phone. Once installed open up gravity box, then go to display tweaks and there you can modify all settings. Hope this helps !:good:
LInk to download Xpose : http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Just make sure you dont use ART, Xposed will not work with ART.

Bluetooth isn't working. The message bluetooth share stopped working appears as soon as I switch the toggle. Just letting you know. Great work with this build, I was able to make calls and send messages over lte on AT&T. Really great so far
fixed bluetooth: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B08utbHfUyw6MjNKZW1WQ3ExOWs
source of fix:
https://github.com/LegacyHuawei/and...mmit/e1564746378cfe5e7b30bec65e626c3edebebacc
Thanks, that fixed Bluetooth, also mtp notified me that it stopped working the moment I make my sd marked as portable storage, I'll check if that occurs again when I try to transfer from my PC. No other problems so far
Update - otg and mtp working fine
source?
Thanks muchly for doing this. Is the source that you used to build the zipfile available someplace I could download it?

The VoIP doesn't seem to work. I tried the stock stack and Fongo. On connecting a call the I can hear the other side, but my voice is muffled/crackly and very very quiet. If I switch to the external speaker everything works but switching back causes the same problem. To me it seems like a sound routing problem.

I had the same problem.
You need change those parametrs at build.prop:
use.dedicated.device.for.voip=true.
use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip=true.
change those parameters to "false"
At CianogenMod12.1(at this firmware Voip work fine), this parametrs are missing, maybe need simply deleting at Lineage 14.1. Today I use my smartphone whith those changes, problem resolved.

Worked like a charm. Too bad the phone has started having a battery charge issues. I had it dismantled for the last three weeks. Reassembled to test. I will have to keep those settings in mind for other VoIP android phones.
Could you post the link of your device tree, kernel, vendor and any other repos that you used?

What recovery you used?
Lineage-14.1-20200227-UNOFFICIAL-mb886
Lineage14.1 unoficial and TWRP 3.3.1-0 for the Atrix HD. It as only been tested on a Razr M. I will make an official thread in the development section if there's enough interest.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, loss of data, dead SD cards,
* loss of hair, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app
* failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included
* in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and
* if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, everyone will laugh at
* you and I will deny any wrong doing or responsibility.
Procedure
NB: You must format your Data and Cache partitions as F2FS
Download the latest PICO or NANO GApps from OpenGapps
Backup your internal SD Card, off of the device eg USD or Hard Disk
Boot to TWRP
Make a nandroid backup, and ensure this backup is not on the device itself
Format your data partition and cache partition to F2FS (do NOT post for instructions
on how to do this on this thread!)
**Note: Touch still not working properly so you MUST use a mouse.
Wipe Cache , System & Dalvik-Cache
Flash the ROM Zip
Flash Gapps ARM -> 7.1
Wipe cache and dalvic
Done - Reboot to [System]
Wait...

I'll see if I can build one with the old touch driver. Touch worked fine on the Razr M both in recovery and rom. My Razr HD had the old touch driver but works fine with the new one.
The old Philz recovery probably won't support android 7.1. I'll see what I can do with it when I get time.
