can the G4 H811 bootloader be relock? - T-Mobile LG G4

just as the tiltle says cna it be relocked after unlocked? like if you get it unlocked, then you get hit by bootloop issue. can you like relock it then flash stock firmware? and send it back to LG or tmobile for repair. so relocking will remove the bootscreed info about unlocked..
anyone .? can confirm?? would love to see video of it.. relocking it.

yes, use the same command you used to unlock it - just change unlock to lock
ie: fastboot oem lock
use: fastboot getvar oem to check the status

well am going to search about this. never used fastboot . am dont even know what it is LOL.. so can someone tell me what is fastboot.? and like i said if i get hit by bootloop (knock on wood). can i relock it with bootlopp issue and flash stock firmware.???? and sent it to LG or TMO.?

If you have a custom boot loader then I think you are out of luck like I was. If you are on a stock boot loader then I don't know.

mines its locked.. dont want to void warranty, only if i could know that even if it bootloops and i can relock it i would unlock it..

So my scenario is that I unlocked mine and flashed TWRP to it. I then relocked it and that screwed me up bad (don't know what I was thinking). Anyway after I fixed it I was no longer able to relock it and when I got the next OTA I was back to my screwed up state and without thinking I followed my old steps exactly and restored the previous version of MM and never went back to 20o. One week later my phone is now a paper weight and I had to buy a new one.

i dont think relocking can damage the phone. what i think is this, you said you got ota. was that 20o? if so you update to that 20o, then downgrade you bricked your phone. as you stated restore previous version of MM never went back to 20o... you bricked it.. not relocking it... 20o its V3 of antirollback.. previous version of MM its 20i thats V2 and so its LP 10n. both V2 you could u[pdate or downgrade your phone from 10n-20i only... you brick it...

Flashing stock recovery on Tmobile US 4.4.2

Hello, I am returning my Moto X back to motorola and had a few questions. I have the Tmo US xt1053 model that i've updated to 4.4.2, unlocked the bootloader, flashed twrp and rooted. I want to return it to stock but there are no factory firmware images for the Tmobile US 4.4.2 and I would like to avoid bricking my phone. I was going to return to the stock recovery and then just factory reset it from the privacy menu but I am afraid to flash the stock recovery for fear of bricking it.
So my question is, can I flash the stock recovery found here: http://www.addictivetips.com/android/root-moto-x-install-cwm-recovery-complete-guide/ ? I can't seem to figure out if there are different recovery versions like there is bootloader versions and if I don't flash the correct one I'll brick something.
I know the bootloader was updated with 4.4.2 so I can't return to 4.4 but if I flash that stock recovery can I just use the factory restore option in the stock rom to remove all my data and root? I know the bootloader will still be unlocked but I highly doubt they will notice that since they never seem to check the bootloader unless its obviously unlocked.
Are you slow???
Turn your phone off then turn it back on and explain to me how you expect them not to notice your bootloader is unlocked?
Even if you used a different boot image to hide the warning, it shows that you're bootloader is unlocked in fastboot. I wouldn't bother hoping they don't notice, I'd hope they don't care.
MotoX Developer Edition went from German 4.4.2 to Great Britain 4.4.2 to T-Mobile 4.4.2 no problem. Fastboot FTW!
Did you read at all when you unlocked the bootloeader? Your warranty is voided. They do not need to have physical contact with your phone at all to determine it's voided.
Just for xt1053, you can downgrade firmware from 4.4.2 to 4.4, but just for this specific case, it doesn't mean it won't brick for other version.

Relocking the bootloader and never locking the bootloader are completely different things. Good luck with that.

Turns out Motorola uses the QFuse system. While the bootloader will look perfectly "stock"/locked to you, Moto will be able to see that the secure boot fuse was blown, thus, re-locking your bootloader is effectively pointless.

It doesn't let you downgrade it regardless, so doesn't matter.
Also fastboot oem lock only work for developer version, and you have to go through the "fastboot oem lock begin" process: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
I don't think you can relock the regular version.

Relock Droid Turbo Bootloader

What's the process for going about it? I did do a search, but didn't find anything useful. Any help would be appreciated.
Reasoning: I'm going to be upgrading and turning in the phone, so it's time to put it back to factory.

1. Go back to stock everything by following section 0 of this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-install-t3292684
2. While in bootloader mode, use the fastboot command "fastboot oem lock"
If you're turning in the phone to Verizon, this method is okay. However, don't do this if you plan on selling the phone to someone else. If they were to try and unlock the phone again, they would most likely brick it.
According to jcase relocking the bootloader it still shows a modified status code. Your warranty is permanently voided.
Are you on an Edge plan? Otherwise I don't know why you would be returning the phone to upgrade. Also not sure what their rules are on permanently modifying the software of one of these essentially "lease-to-own" devices, so might want to check the terms and conditions if this applies to you. If you are just trading it in for credit toward a new phone, I'd just sell it yourself unlocked and get a lot more for it.

A bootloader unlocked, rooted XT1254 would be more valuable to a buyer than one locked down. You've already done all the hard work.

Heya so I'm in a serious bind.
I skipped your step 1 and locked my bootloader. I have an unlocked bootloader. I recently upgraded through the normal verizon pushed update the marshmallow update. Anyhow. I now want to return the phone for an upgrade and well... I locked the bootloader. Then turn the phone off and turned it back on and it now says locked, but it says failed to validate system image. I then got freaked out and downloaded all the step 1 files and tried to flash the stock rom (which i already had installed!) and that doesn't seem to work. Did I brick my phone? Is there any way to get it working now that it is locked with any kind of android at all?
You're probably fine @droidfun1. You just need to use the marshmallow firmware package instead of the lollipop one. Get it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/dr...-official-stock-firmware-6-0-1-mcg24-t3531571
Yup, I tried flashing the stock 6.0.1 rom with fastboot on my mac but I got all kinds of fails.
I found a mac compatible command line version of RSDLite and it totally worked! Not sure why fastboot couldn't successfully flash the same stock rom?
Now I just need to remove the bootloader unlocked warning (my phone is now locked status 2), but not sure if I can now that it is locked.

Strange. As far as I understand it, RSDlite just automates fastboot, so even if you're using RSDlite, you're actually using fastboot. Whatever works though.
As for the unlocked bootloader message, see my response to that post you made.

Upgrading 20i+TWRP+Root -> 20o+TWRP+Root without erasing data?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.
I'm currently on 20i with root and TWRP and would like to upgrade to 20o+root+TWRP without erasing data. Is this possible?

that will be hard to do, bcuz bootloader gets lock and you need to unlocking again (don't quote me on that) and that process will erase data, what you can do is the Following :
1- Do a 20i Data only backup. (i say Data only cuz if you do Full Backup and you update to 20o you won't be using all of it for Hard-Brick reason)
2- Update using KDZ.
3- Follow existing Unlock Bootloader + TWRP + Root procedures.
4- Once that done just Reboot to TWRP and Restore DATA - Wipe Cache and Dalvik.
will take time but is the only way i can think off right now.

At the moment there is no possibility for that available because there is no flashable zip for the ota. If you want to go to 20o then you have to sacrifice your data ( you can use titanium backup on your own risk ). But Rooting and TWRP method are same as 20i for 20o.

you only problem will be entering Fastboot mode.... IF you unlock and didn't flash TWRP as far as i know only way to get your G4 back to normal if you get hit with Bootloops even with unlock bootloader is using LGUP + KDZ, but you need to use the same version you using right now , for sample if you are in 20o flash 20o kdz, cuz if you flash 20i you'll get Hard-brick and i don't know a way to fix that..

so if i get bootloop i cant enter fastboot and relock it.? then flash stock KDZ then phone would be like locked but with bootloop.. bootloop issue its only during booting into android.?
this is so confusing LOL... sorry. i just want to make sure i can relock it if i get bootloop if not then am staying locked untill warranty.

1- you didn't mention before you are in 20i , so i was assuming you were n 20o
2- i really doubt you'll get bootloop when unlocking the bootloader. (i'm 100% sure about that)
3- like you said IF (BIG IF) you get bootloop you can just boot your G4 in Download Mode and flash 20i KDZ with LG UP and get back to normal.
4- Unlocking the Bootloader doesn't mean you can't relocked back again after flashing the 20i KDZ OR unlocking....Relock bootloader is as easy as unlocking it.
5- Download Mode and Fastboot Mode are 2 different things and Download Mode (Flash KDZ) can be access if you have bootloop or not

i dont know how warranty works with tmobile. i dont think anyone can just walk in to store and have it fix. unless it has warranty and the owner of account its there.. i know i have warranty on LG. but they do check for bootloader unlock..
So just to be clear, it is possible to root vanilla 20o using the "official" root method found here?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/stock-h811-20i-images-kdz-flashable-t3308227
I just got my G4 that came with 20i. I'm not sure what the "kdz" is but since it was already on 20i, I unlocked the bootloader, loaded twrp, tried to install twrp but it failed saying it couldn't mount some directories, and then I flashed the SU zip and rebooted. Bootloader stayed unlocked but I didn't get root access. Anyway, I'd like to upgrade to 6.0.1 and have that rooted if possible. And that can be done using lgup?

fastboot oem lock, but still getting unlocked bootloader message

Through some miracle, I just unbricked my phone. I locked it and bricked it but then I flashed the stock 6.0.1 rom and i'm good!. I'm now at a status 2 because i unlocked and relocked it. I know you guys hate that because why relock it, but i'm returning it and wanted to play it safe.
Weird thing is I'm still getting the unlocked bootloader warning on power on. Any ideas why and how I can get rid of it? I thought for sure relocking would fix it.

This might not work with a locked bootloader, but you can give it a shot.
Download the boot logo from this thread that looks like the original one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...o-maxx-droid-turbo-x-style-logos-bin-t3407046
Double click on the .exe file while your phone is in bootloader mode and plugged into your computer.
Thanks ya, I have seen that logo fix floating around for the Droid Turbo but I didn't want to try until I had at least one confirmation that it could work on a relocked bootloader. Anyone have a guess/idea/or success story?

How to go back to stock and relock the Bootloader?

Hello
i have to sell my device so i want to get it to stock again.
My current Setup:
Bootloader Unlocked, Stock Recovery, Rooted with Magisk, Stock ROM 9.0.0.283
What are the Steps to go Back to Stock and wipe everything?
Ive read that if the bootloader relock again it is not able to unlock the second time? Is this correct? I want to get the Unlock Code to the person who buy it but if its real, he cant use the code anymore..
anyway is it possible to do the job with the Stock E-Recovery in the current state of my phone? Without bootloader Relocked? Or is it necessary to relock the bootloader again?
Thank you very much

Ask the buyer if they want it locked. Personally it wouldn't be worth my time if it couldn't be unlocked again. Better to check first..
If you want to lock (not relock) bl justdownload your adequate firmware from androidhost.ru and flash fw using Usb-otg method.
You can unlock/lock your bl using unlock code anytime you want (provided you haven't changed your mainboard in the meantime).

I thought you wanted to go back to stock. I've already gave you solution to bring back all the way stock.
I m not sure if it's even possible to re-lock bootloader using fastboot when you're on pie.
Bootloader status re-locked still means your warranty is void.

Hey I've tried this otg method but without success
If I try it with the dload folder option and try to force flash the emui updater throws an error.
Even with the dialer code method.. same..
I'm not able to get it to stock.
I've tried the Huawei suite on PC and phone in fastboot mode..same..massage this phone can't be reset or so..
What can I do next?
Current state, halfway working phone that's boot into os 2 times from 10 reboots.
