[Q] Cannot turn S-off & run 2.3.5 htc 3.0 sense

hello android fans.
im facing a hard time for root this phone
i cannot turn my phone to S-off..
but i already unlock boot loader..
i've tried everything..superuser..oneclick..boot..
just give me a guide...
anyone please give me some advise & step for rooting my phone..
My phone is running 2.3.5 + htc 3.0 sense
phone model htc incredible s vivo (Malaysia or asia)

If you have S-Off you should be able to follow this procedure to install CWM recovery and then you can flash the newest SU-3.0.x.zip to root the 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 ROM.

HINT: Search the forum using the keywords 'downgrade' and 'hboot'

You mention that you had unlock bootloader, by what method?htcdev?
If yes, the next step is to flash recovery, than root, lastly flash new ROM
how to do it?
S-Off is not needed to flash Custom ROM

Install CRT Animation will not affect your system, it is just a add-on.
Which means your Sense will remain.
Yes, just like the way you flash ROM.

Firstly welcome
Secondly, at the moment you can't s off the newest bootloader you have.
You can only s off older bootloaders. If you want s off, you need to downgrade to a version such as this using a gold card.
Here is a guide to do so if you wanted to

But for things like TV animation and fllashing roms, you don't need s off you can do it with HTC unlock.

I have a htc one that have cid: TIM__401 an its still at 4.1.2 my device is rooted and have a custom recovery. i can not install 4.2.2 update when i try to download and then install it the device sent me to custom recovery. So how can i unroot my device and stock recovery mod?? Can anybody help me

you can unroot in your superuser app. and flash stock recovery from here: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html

If you don't want to go with custom ROM (which would already include root), try installing the deodexed version of the stock ROM, and then flash SuperSU (in recovery) from here: http://download.chainfire.eu/351/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip
EDIT: if that doesn't work, it might be because you need a kernel with write protection disabled

i have try every things to get root permission but it failed
my bad luck
i have flashed many roms cm,deodex....from different recoveries cwm...twrp....
i used almost every way in xda but all of them failed
i need to get s-off for my device but it also failed
i need some help from xda members

Use the latest CWM. It worked for me with "recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.6-m7ul.img" and "UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip"

flash twrp recovery
push the kernel to your phone memory and flash it form recovery

Searching Testers

Hello dear M8S comunity,
im searching some Testers^^ i buyed a used M8S that had a dead emmc ( never unlocked still in warranty) my M8S is send to HTC for warranty repair but now i want to start some developing for M8S
for those who dont know me... i had never developed for an HTC only for sonys but im sure we can get something
so what do you need?
- having a unlocked bootloader
- stock android 6
- some skill with adb/fastboot
- rooted device
- a full backup and a working recovery.img
what my plans are:
- first get a stable twrp build against my sources
- after that try getting a cm14 booted
- after that we will see

cause you need to start somewhere... and if i would have a nougat base i would use it xD but this phone doesnt have one... so starting with android6.0 and going forward by adding changes necessary to bopt cm14... then adding fixes...
but firstly i need to know if twrp is fine ( would mean kernel is ok )

Take care that from MM the firmware don't allow anymore to just use "fastboot boot ..." U need to use htc_fastboot and it have to be flashed in order to use it.
Also the other phones from HTC like M8 is A9 or other do the same, U can see in there specific threads.
I will like to help but mine is also in service (broken lcd).

nah it doesnt must be flashed to use it... if you htc_fastboot boot recovery.img then the recovery.img will be loaded to ram and then booted.... not flashing anything ^^
