Hello,
about a month ago, my GPS stopped working. It won´t find any satellites. At first i thought it was an software issue, so i tried different fixes and serveral soft/hard resets, changed to different builds and even updated to marshmallow. Nothing worked. So i thought it was an hardware issue and wanted to send it to the repair service. But the european Huawei Support and their associated Repair-Service refused to help me, since i have the chinese UL00 model. It´s nearly impossible to contact the chinese service if you live in europe and don´t speak chinese/mandarin.
Now i wanted to fix it by myself but couldn´t find any information about the hardware.
Does anybody know the location of the GPS chip or the antenna or does know a way to fix it?

i received this e-mail this weekend in regards to my breeze always dropping calls. it refers to a new update but only via the support centre
Good Morning,
?
The fact that your calls drops is?not normal, if it does that you should try
to Hard reset the device.
If the hard reset doesn't sort the issue you will need to send the phone to
repair.
Note: hard reset will delete all data from the device, you need to save your
personnal files and synchronize your device first.
I can confirm we have recently released a new ROM update for the Mteor.
?
Due to the complex nature of this ROM update we will not be offering this
download via our website. Instead we are offering it through our network of
repair centres.

does anyone know what the turn around time from being received to being sent out from HTC is?
in regards to a software update and a repair/replacement which would include any tests they'ed need to do.
thanks
HI, just try to deactivate the Umts Bandselection... means don't choose Auto .... just try GSM only....
i have Problems to when have activated the AUTO feature...
steve
i have done, thought it fixed it for a whole day aswell, however it seems to make it happen less but it still happens a few times a day
well got the phone back, they actually replaced it so got a new 1 out of the mix and the fact i bought it off ebay second hand - bonus!
the dropping of calls still occurs but it seems its the 3G orange payg sim i have. i will try and get a new one out of orange on saturday and see if that works, i know its the sim as i tried a orange 2G payg sim and it has no problems whatsoever
so its oranges fault and HTC's for not making it work correctly with the sim.
Dan
No new rom on it then? ;p
the rom had a .3 at the end of it instead of .1
the radio was the same too.
My MTeoR arrived today. I also have a "3G sim" or whatever they are.. the one that came with my Nokia N95. That same sim has worked perfectly in my E50 for the past three months, but in the MTeoR I am frequently being disconnected during calls, and even when the phone is off-call, the display changed from "3G Orange" to "No Service" quite frequently.
This is no good
wow, i know it doesn't help its nice to know its not just me breaking the phone like i seem to do to everything electrical
by the way t-mobile, vodafone sims i have work fine in 3g mode, its obviously a orange problem. i have e-mailed them again asking if its a common problem. all i can say is you do the same and maybe our collective voices will be heard.
OK guys, here’s the deal… I have a big problem with my MDA Compact IV (T-mobile’s version of the HTC Diamond). As it is a simlock free device, I’m using my Vodafone sim card. I hope one of you experts can help! I’ve been through just about the entire internet and this forum and found that there are more people with the same problem, but I haven’t found a working solution yet.
What happened:
- I got my MDA, didn’t like the T-mobile branding so before even using the phone with the original software, I’ve upgraded to SPL-1.40.OliNex, Radio 1.00.25.05 and the original HTC Touch Diamond 1.93.404.1 Dutch Stock ROM.
- I also installed a few programs like Klaxon, Tomtom 7 and S2U2.
- After a few hours of playing with my device I noticed that there were some problems with the sound. When I receive a call there is no sound, when I answer the call the caller can’t hear me and I can’t hear him. Same problem when I make a call myself. None of the systems sounds work. This can only be solved after soft reset.
- These sound problems occur completely random. Sometimes it works for hours and sometimes just minutes after the reset.
What I’ve done to try to solve the problem:
- I de-installed all the programs, but did not fix the problem.
- I went over all the sound settings, but did not find anything wrong.
- I did a hard reset, but this didn’t solve anything.
- I returned to the original t-mobile stock ROM. This also wasn’t the solution.
I’m getting quite desperate here. I love the phone, it’s looks and possibilities, but it’s a real problem if you can’t even use it to make and receive calls. I still see that as a basic function when you buy a phone
EDIT: OK guys, finally after nine weeks of waiting, calling and emailing the repair center, I got my device back and what do you think....? Problem fixed! It turned out to be a hardware problem. I don't know exactly what they did, but my phone works just fine now. I reflashed to the AZTOR NLD ROM and now I'm the proud owner of a working phone! Big thanks for all of your support!
Reinstall the stock SPL and stock ROM and take it back under warranty - sounds like a hardware issue to me. I haven't read about anyone else with this problem and since you seem to have already tried most software related fixes I'd start looking at the hardware. Just wait until you lose sound one day and then take it back so they can see the problem first hand! I can't see anyone arguing with that.
I had the some problem, only once, and it was because of installing some cabs (I don't remember which ones, though). The speaker didn't work at all.
I suggest that you put a new lite firmware (Swift works great to me!) and try for some time
Well I've had the same problem and apparently UK Orange know that its a hardware fault and are replacing my handset tomorrow.
I've tried every rom going and every radio going and still had the problem which definately suggests its hardware fault.
If you can I'd return it to your sim provider and get a replacement.
Still no solution
I just returned the phone to the shop. I'll keep you posted...
I had the same issue, returned it to the shop.
They will swap it with another one since it's a hardware fault.
Same problem. I send back Diamond to HTC.
I hope that they'll change it with another without problem.
I had the same problem with one of the early unbranded Diamonds. HTC Europe replaced it as being a sort of DOA (dead on arrival) without any restriction. It took some weeks but all ended well!
Hi, so just a quick explanation. I work for a UK phone retailer, and we see a huge amount of the Galaxy Ace with network issues.
There's no official word on what the problem is. I thought these forums would be a good place to see if anyone has an answer.
I've had a look here and seen that the FAQ suggests this links to missing IMEI, but that doesn't seem to be the issue in most cases. In fact, the missing IMEI seems to be a separate issue, or possibly the final outcome of this one.
The issue I see every day is the phone loses it's registration with the network, and shows Emergency Calls Only. A restart will fix it for a while.
In these cases the IMEI is fine.
It doesn't seem to be linked to any network in particular, I've seen it on most of them, including network branded handsets. SIM card swaps do nothing to help, it was suggested there was a software update to fix the issue, that doesn't seem to work either.
A search on Google seems to indicate this issue affects Aces around the world.
Has someone figured it out properly yet?
(I'm just a lowly sales person, I have no actual influence within the company, I just want to know for myself and my own customers. I've avoided selling the Ace for around 6 months now due to this issue, )
Hi at all,
I have a problem, which will only affect a few:
I live close to the border of my country (Germany), so that my cell connects to the network of the neighboring country. Somewhere near the update from Android 6 to 7, my phone stopped showing my home carrier network (o2) in the manual network selection. Literally all other carriers are shown. This is super crappy, as even with disabled data while roaming, the phone used some data in the neigboring country.
Annoyed by that, I did the manual update to Android 8 to see, if this solves my problem. Unfortunately not. As EMUI is also not my favourite of all time, I tried the OpenKirin LineageOS, but still the same. Does anyone have similar problems or know a solution? I owned a Samsung phone in the past, where I manipulated the radio image for reasons. Does anyone have experience with that on the Huawei?
Addendum: In my ancient HTC One, manual network selection with the SIM card works find on a custom ROM. The mainboard of the phone has been exchanged by Huawei, so I guess hardware is also not the issue.

Hi,
Today I was changing the Carrier aggregation file in a SM-G970U as I did some time ago but after the filo was uploaded and phone restarted I'm getting an intermittent port reading between "Unknown" and SDM855 with blank ESN field.
The phone restarts itself from time to time and is like modem dissapear, no signal and a hang up every time I use the dialer.
Could you help me to take my phone back to life?
Thanks.
Why no one replied to help? What is happening here with the community?
@Sig20, did you fix it? The repair should be possible from EDL at least.
However it is strange that these things are done manually and not by the manufacturer?
I am appalled by the lack of proper software for these machines.
Shame on Samsung Shame shame shame.
Thank you very much for your kindness @Network_Pro .
Unfortunately I had to send the phone to repair because I couldn't fin a software to fix it myself. A forced firmware update didn't work.
Just in case how is the process to use the EDL?
The reason why I had to set the CA combos is the phone model is the US and works ok here in Chle but no Carrier aggregation. After changing the CA Combos it works.
For example like this
In the video the guy said no loader yet for the specific U version (Bit version)
However the loaders usually can be found in the tools such as Miracle tool etc. (searching with yandex reveals some information)
The repair center, did they fix it by software or they had to replace the board?
