Yesterday I have opened a thread what you can read here. Now I opening another because I have talked with Huawei and I can garantee that all versions of Marshmallow for P8 Lite and probably for P8 as well, are UNSAFE and POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!!!
I strongly recommend to everybody to make a full backup on P8 Lite (probably on P8 as well) and FLASH THE STOCK ROM URGENTLY.
All Huawei P8 Lite is affected and Huawei have no idea at the moment how to fix it. They misleaded you relating the ecryption of the phone. The latest version ALE-L21C432B574 (for dual SIM) are unable to encrypt the phone. Even if you think it is encrypted IS NOT.

The rom is not unsafe, nor it is potentially dangerous. It's useless to try to panic everyone, the problem is just that the encryption doesn't work properly, it doesn't surprise me enough, the keymaster is disabled at the kernel.
But oh, they don't release updated kernel versions anymore...

The phone is NOT encrypted at all. Ergo FBI, CIA, NSA, any kind of police or your neighbour can easily get everything from your phone.

This is a joke right? If the NSA wants to access your phone, they can do it, you can encrypt it or not, I am not going to explain why because it's ridiculous, as well as your PC.

I warned everyone that ENCRYPTION is doesn't works at all on no one P8 Lite and P8 device. I have trying since one week everything and I talked with Huawei telephone support in Ireland, Switzerland and in Hungary and they working to resolve somehow this issue. Second, if you are using a 16 character long password as I do with special characters and numbers there is no way mathematically that NSA or any other agency get into your phone because in my case they minimum need to try 185302e31 possibility. (After 30 wrong password entry the phone will be stay encrypted forever). But we are talking about a different and very serious issue.
Impossible encrypt the phone. Now let's say you somehow an exceptional from this. Please go to the settings and change the password or screen lock. Reboot your phone. Now the phone will don't ask you before booting up. When the phone booted up go again to the setting -> lock and password and set it to NONE.
I am very sure that you can do and this mean my friend that your phone is NOT ENCRYPTED.
I kindly request you that the next time try or do some research before write here your bullsh** when I am trying to help thousands of other users.

This is my last post here. Encryption works, period, just open a thread at the support section and We'll try to help you figure out what you're doing wrong.
You obviously lack of the technical knowledge to understand how government agencies can get into your phone, so I won't explain it to you.
You said you called a moderator, I'd love to see how justice works at XDA, I am not very pleased so far.

For those of you who don't feel like reading 9 pages of posts, here's the rundown:
JockyW2001 did a lot of work, cooked the Prod ROM and pre-pro Rom.
He then pinpointed the NVRAM entry that disabled GPS on his Kaiser, and recommends that someone with a prod S730 test it. You should donate to him.
Dumdidum has a pre-prod S730 and did a whole lotta testing.
Good luck getting any of them to write a nice tutorial for us n00bs, though.

My opinion is that there isn't security exactly, but an automatic rewrite taking place; as in, something saying "return NV values to this value," that, in itself, is a single value somewhere.

Ok. I have a preproduction Phone with working GPS, but it is veeeeeeeeeery slow and is crashing all 10 minutes (no ****)
So I decided to give it a go, and I've updated the ROM here.
It's a Test only, not for sale.
1. Thing: It's very fast now. But I think your productive devices were fast before
2. Thing: COM4 doesnt respond yet.
I'm happy now because I can finally use the device, and I'm trying to implement the GPS back. I'm sure that this has to work because I have a working GPS antenna in the device.
Btw. it's english after flashing, Languages included are:

Romana RO
Some greek or russian
UK English
Magyar

The best result will be if you obtain the same behavior as pro model - only one or two satellites without fix = working GPS probably not depends on antenna, only on sw (hope).

You should have flashed this new ROM in parts. First OS and then radio. It would have been very interesting to see if the radio is sufficient to get GPS going. Anyways you will be a good tester when it comes to flashing my cooked pre-prod OS
I have just finished cooking the pre-production OS, please download "Wings-cooked-OS-pre-prod.zip" from XDA FTP and flash OS.nbh with the attched RUU Updater. Put OS.nbh in the same directory as the unpacked RUU Updater files.
EDIT:
On the XDA ftp site I just posted the file "Wings-cooked-OS-prod.zip" in /Smartphone/Wings/ROM (Production model)/
I also cooked the pre-prod OS which is file "Wings-cooked-OS-pre-prod.zip" in /Smartphone/Wings/ROM (Pre-production model)/
I also attached the Wings ROM Updater tool which was extracted from the official ROM.
Cooked pre-prod and prod OS ROMS are finished, see my previous post.
Have fun! perhaps the best idea is that Dumdidum tries first.

Great work Jockyw! Maybe the result of your work is adept for new thread aka Try the prepro ROM on your s730 to check if GPS works.
So guys, who will be the first, who will check if pro model with prepro ROM has GPS? Then we can make the mix of both ROMs

I just flashed the prod OS ROM on my Kaiser and it works fine
The only problem is the keyboard mapping
I will now flash the pre-prod and let you know if it that also works. Anyone with a HardSPL can then try it on a real WINGS
PS: Of course I will test GPS with both ROMs
I have interesting news
I'm running GPSTest.exe inside the prod Wings OS on my Kaiser and I have a fix. This means that if the software is crippled then it must be done in the radio part. That fits exactly with Dumdidum's experience after he flashed the full RUU.
I will now flash the Wings radio and should then no longer have a GPS fix. And then I will post a link to a Kaiser radio which will hopefully give you the long awaited GPS

She stated that a Nougat update will be coming to the P8, not anytime soon, but it will most likely receive the update. I reside in the UAE (Dubai), and I don't know if what she said applies to all the P8 variants available by region, or if it will be only for the Middle Eastern variants (that being UL-00 and UL-10).
Hopefully what she said is indeed true and is not just giving us false hope. Her response was completely different from what I had received from Huawei Arabia's facebook team, that being only seenzoned by them. :/

this information has absolutely no value if it comes from Huawei employee, they dont know anything about it, they are just guessing and often they can not even help you with basic problems, huawei already released list of devices that will get nougat, besides, gpu doesnt support Android 7 API, so there is zero hope, and dont forget, may users that contacted huawei suport about update got reply that it simply can not be updated due compatibility restrictions

It's custom ROM for a old device. It doesn't have to support the same functionalities and it doesn't have to provide the same reliability as OTA update for not so old semi-flagship device.

You have to realise that we are talking about OFFICIAL update that that has to be approved by google, that means official android update for mobile of any company has to be fully compatible, including new API, you can not compare that with custom unofficial roms, they dont have to have the same functionalities and google has no power to cancel it,

It can because it supports OpenGL ES3.1 which is mandatory but Vulcan isn't. So it's up to Huawei.
In fact, as I said I is only Huawei's decision and hopefully not make the assholes and update you can not abandon such a former top range which also made them important
It's not. No manufacturer will update a device with Vulkan incompatible SoC.

It's not only about being done - it's about being fully functional and reliable. That cannot be done. Sony failed at it as well - they did Nougat beta tests for the Z3 and the results were dreadful.

Files have been downloaded individually as downloading it all at once gave an error.
I only replaced the first 4 files.

According to http://www.galaxys6edgeupdate.com/galaxy-s6-edge-stock-firmware/g925aucs7era2-att-g925a/ you can upgrade directly to ERA2, since you flash the entire stock rom, not only the upgrade.
remenber that if you upgrade to Android 7 you will lose the possibility to make the root access on the phone. From version 6 onwards the bootloader is locked, this means that it is not possible to make root.

.pit files are only used to tell Odin which file names to program to which "partition". Even if separate images are used, Odin will treat them as a single image. For example .pit file tells Odin to program modem.bin file to MODEM "partition", zImage to KERNEL "partition", etc.

After i downloaded this ...my browser just opens and jumps to click bait ads ....phone just sits there then BOOM it just opens up the browser and ironically says your s6 edge has a virus....if i open apps regular google apps ...bang a big A%$ ad just appears....cant downgrade ..have to get a whole new phone until someone post another update so i can go from this to that one..im sure there is a modded app inside one of these stock apps like amazon where the virus is ...but thats my fault for trusting random people forgot there impovershed trolls out there trying to reset ebay passwords to charge products to your card just to sell at some run down bodega...

After just posting this ...i got a notification from wish.com (thats not even on my phone).....so i pressed and held the notification to see which app sent it ...and low and behold it was a app with a all white icon with option to uninstall...uninstalled BANG no more random pop ups ..im sure there are a couple more.

ive been trying to get this to work, but all i get its the same DRK error in all times,
Ive checked the files each one in their specific place,
had to do a factory reset, but ends the same
i went from 6.0 qcf1 to this one, apparently some people got it working but in my case i got stuck in this screen in recovery mode.

I'm just in contact with him and multiple other maintainers for our device. We like to maintain ROMs as a hobby, and I don't like it when users don't like the developer from a few errors and mistake they've done when they're first exposed to a new device, so I stand up for them.
We were all new to something at first and would make mistakes. Putting the developer down from a few mistakes he made at the start will not make him a better dev, and everyone should encourage the dev and/or help them for when they get something fix, instead of discouraging them for that.

As of now is not mistakes is kang (I don't really know if it pranav showed evidences) but that up to you devs to resolve those issues.
Us users must use whatever rom/kernel etc we like and if i dont like a certain dev for some reason simple not use it.

see I tell you something. Those who sync sources are just do nothing for the original are not developers for me. The real developers are those to me who write code. Who fixes those RIL related issues. Those who just synching and just posting random builds are nothing just not doing anything. Its someones else work right. So i have no idea what as per you is developer idk about it. .. Bro he don't know how to give proper credits in XDA and just compiling ROMs and create a thread name it as official and first he must learn and then use the XDA share it to others

After lots of fighting with OnePlus about this, I finally managed to get my hands on the MSMDownloadTool and drivers for the Sprint variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
To be honest, I was EXTREMELY tired while writing this, and need to get some sleep.
There are other posts explaining how to use this tool. I will update this thread with links to them when I have time.

Know now that I am not posting this as an instructable for those that do not understand the sensitivity of the files that can be pulled through this method.
If you don't know how to accomplish any of the steps, you probably shouldn't be doing this. If you do pull partitions from your phone, do not share them with anybody you can not trust. Do not post them here, or anywhere for that matter.
If you are asked to help by providing partitions, do your research. Are they recognized developers? Have they helped other people? If you feel they can be trusted, then it is okay to share them.
1)Download MSMDownloadTool rar file
2)Start MSMDownloadTool with Admin Privileges
3)When MSMDownloadTool starts, hit F8
4)A screen with partitions will pop up
Select partitions you would like to pull, and input ”oneplus" as password.
Hit ok
You will notice now that a new "Read Back" button has appeared. DO NOT HIT IT YET!
5)Boot phone into EDL:
There are two methods of doing this with the OP7 Pro 5G.
1: ADB REBOOT EDL
2: Shut phone down with no USB plugged in, hold both vol up and vol down, then insert USB cable
6)AS SOON AS YOU SEE YOUR PHONE APPEAR IN THE TABLE, HIT "Enum" BUTTON, SELECT YOUR PHONE IN THE TABLE AND HIT "Read Back".
Note: If your phone disconnects before you have the chance to hit "Read Back" start back at step 5. Once Sahara starts reading, the phone will stay connected.
7)WAIT....
8)Once complete, your files can be found in the root of your system partition (The easiest way to collect them is to sort by "Date Modified")
9)Give yourself a tap on the back. BUT DON'T FORGET, there is sensitive information in the partitions.

Yes and No. Currently there is no Rom to crossflash to the Sprint OP7 Pro. As of right now, it is just a way to recover from a brick for devs.

Not currently, unfortunately. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure they patch the global ROM to work on T-Mobile devices. So, if that is indeed the case, we'd need to do the same to get it to work on Sprint, however that may work. People such as myself are looking into ways of remaining on stock ROM and unlocking the bootloader so you could retain 5G and all Sprint features. I worry that moving to Global would effect more than just 5G, since Sprint is a CDMA carrier, with things such as VoLTE/VoWiFi. I could be very wrong on this though, it's just baseless speculation. We won't know till we try!

The apn issues cause the Lost of MMS volte and mobile data. Does anyone have a stock image I can reflash back to for GM1925 / GM25CC for sprint please?
How do you actually use this .rar file in the msmdownload tool? The file cannot be extracted, says it is damaged? I've tried downloading a few times with no luck

Got this taken care of. Had to use "ZIP 7" to extract the files correctly. After that, all worked perfect. Thank you devs

What steps did you follow in the MSMtools? just start?
If I decided to go back to Sprint Stock from European, say I want to sell the phone, can I lock back the bootloader?
Hola buenas chicos soy de Nicaragua tengo un One Plus 7pro 5G ayer quise pasar a la europea pero no me gustó que la información del teléfono no salía y volví a la sprint que tienen acá en el foro pero no me sale 5G ahora solo me muestra hasta 4G que puedo hacer para volver a tener habilitado los 5G en el futuro

Oh, I also pulled all the partitions from my Sprint OP7 Pro 5G. If any recognized dev would like to take a look at them to see if we can't get this variant free from it's bondage, let me know.

What are the steps to unbricking? Just plug in and press start? I'm about to try converting to EU and if it somehow messes up I don't want to be stuck. Being a noob with flashing sucks
