Video brightness not in control - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just rooted my lenovo k3 note k50a40 using the cmd method but ever since whenever I play a video in mx player or internal video player or any other player I can't control the brightness. Sliding on the left side just shows brightness increasing but really doesn't increase the brightness. Can anyone tell me why I'm having this problem?

Someone say something

Navigation sound cutoff problem

I noticed recently that navigation cutoff my stock music player and restore the music differently than what I can remember.before it used to lower the volume then cutoff, announce the navigation alerts, and bring back the volume of the music nicely. Now, it chops off the music announce the navigation alert, then resume the music at full volume, fade into a lower volume and back up in full volume. I tried clearing the days for both music and navigation, disabling cm sound settings for sound focus, tried all the options in the stock music player settings regarding to sound focus. Can announce do a small test for me?
I'm using cm6 nightly 203, the latest car home from the market, the latest navigation from the market, and the stock music player from the nightly.

Similarly I have noticed that when listening to Pandora while using the navigation, the music will cut off for a navigation announcement but then the music will not resume. I have to physically press play to resume Pandora playback.
Very annoying
Yeah, that's always been the case with pandora. I believe it's more of pandora's bad implementation rather than android. Hopefully pandora will implement the resume on their next version.

Any way to change obnoxious "Over the Horizon" media volume preview music?

When adjusting media volume the Note 8 plays Samsung's signature brand music, Over the Horizon, to help gauge volume. (I can't post links here yet but Samsung has a youtube video of enthusiastic jazz dudes recording the song in a studio.)
Over the Horizon is far too obnoxiously loud for this task, esp with headphones. In contrast the Note 5 had calming spa music as its volume preview.
And, yes, I use a volume profile widget but frequently need to adjust the media volume depending on where I am, what I'm doing, etc.
On my locked Verizon phone I can't delete or modify the file at /system/media/audio/ui/media_preview_over_the_horizon.ogg
Any ideas?
Thanks,
KCB

Samsung Internet 9 - No video Touch Controls or gestures

I just switched to the S10+ from the S7 and i noticed in the samsung internet browser 9.0 does not have the video brightness and volume touch controls or gestures as they did in samsung internet 8.2. Am i just missing a setting or did they remove this feature? If they did remove it..is there a way to enable it or is there another browser that has these controls? Or maybe even a browser that allows to play a video on an external player like vlc?

S10 Won't recognize HDR video files while playing them

Hey!
I recently downloaded a few mkv HDR files to the phone, but when playing the files, it didn't activate the HDR feature (washed out colors and bad contrasts) in VLC or the native Samsung video app. How come and how can I watch HDR content? (It does work on YouTube HDR videos...)
Thanks!
HDR content is HIT AND MISS. Some will look fine after adjusting the brightness and contrast, some devices require Auto Brightness and Iris to be turned off. and sometimes a codec can fix the problem....
Have you tried using KODI and adjusting the hardware and software codec settings?
But honestly, HDR on a 6 inch screen isn't doing you any good. 1080p Will consume far less data and will look the same on that tiny screen. Unless you're using HDMI out to a screen over 50 inches, i don't see the need...
HDR has nothing to do with the resolution (and the fact that you should be watching it on big screens). HDR is about dynamic range and the color range which is perfect to watch on a high-end screen of a premium smartphone display like Galaxy S10.
