Hi guys,
I bought this phone yesterday, and it's awesome. I actually love EMUI, the camera is jawdropping and it has an amazingly smooth experience with plenty of nice features.
I do however notice some ghosting/blur, especially when scrolling. It's not choppy, but it's quite annoying. This is very visible when viewing something dark on a white background (scrolling through text) or a white icon on a dark background. I can't really include video, as my old phone can't really capture it true to life, but it's similar to this, as in the screen doesn't seem to be quite "fast enough"
Does anybody else have something similar?
Same here...
Hi, I bought the same phone yesterday and although impressed I have the same issue and it's bothering me. Did you get to the bottom of the issue? If I can't resolve this the phone will have to go back I'm sorry to say as it's too noticeable to be anything other then annoying.
Hi
After a lot of wrestling with a repair center, I got a replacement which does a lot better.
Check out a display model (or a couple) of the phone and compare. Mine was super bad, and while it's still noticeable, it's bearable now.
I gotta be honest, I have no idea what ghosting you guys are seeing - mine is flawless. I would ask for a replacement if you can!

Checked out two display models, and both had the problems. I guess I just see it really easily.
Slightly happening on mine too, definitely bearable though and mostly visible when scrolling sideways. Especially in the app drawer in Nova.
i bought this smartphone today and the ghosting effect while scrolling is HUGE.
the smartphone is perfect for me but this issue is so bad..is horrible, anyone can see it.
The only problem I'm having us when my phone's getting really cold, like in the winter when I'm not using it and so it cools down, you can see a sort of "motion blur". It's quite strong, but it goes away when the phone heats up through use. Its not a problem for me, but are you experiencing the same thing ?

There iare P9, P9 Lite, P9+, with single SIM, double SIM, various customizations, builds/versions with Marshmallow or Nougat.
It would be helpful always to declare the build version, like EVA-L09c432b31 or so (btw I never had such problem with either of Nougat builds b378, b383, b386, b391 for the model/cust EVA-L09c432)

Hey guys, I currently own a myTouch 4g which I love, but I'm thinking about giving it to my wife and picking up an HD7. I love Microsoft's new OS and the phone itself, but have a couple reservations. First, I'm worried about the reception issues (death grip) that people are talking about. Anyone on here experiencing this? I'm also worried about the quality of the camera and the fact pictures come out looking pink. Does anyone know if it is going to be updated in the future? How are all of you liking your phone's otherwise?

there's an issue with reception? News to me...having had my HD7 for almost a month now and experiencing no problems at all with reception I reckon its an invention of the media (or Steve blow Jobs himself) to try to weaken the public perception of WP7s. Just because iPhone 4 is crap doesn't mean they have to trash others as well. But I digress... As far as camera quality...its a phone. Its not going to plop out perfect pics but they look pretty nice if under the right conditions. The 720p video recording is the same, under optimal conditions it looks great. The pink thing should be fixed, I'm pretty sure I heard it was a problem on the HD2 and HTC fixed; don't quote me on that though. As far as everything else about the phone...its amazing (excluding the missing features coming in Januarys update, already dubbed "WP8" by Chris Walsh), quick, smooth, never laggy or glitchy (cough Android cough) and is honestly just a joy. I've always been a phone hopper (mostly WM6 & BB) but I could definitely see myself staying the course with my HD7.
There are no antenna issues simply because the antena is on the lower back case and trust me the phone being massive it's pretty hard to squeeze that case even if you do it intentionally. However, if issues do appear it really might be an overall faulty device or some weak coverage.

Hey, a Romanian. My wife is from there and still is a Romanian.
Hi I have an HD7 and no problems with reception at all .. its on o2 UK.
camera is average, takes better pictures in daylight like all other 5mp camera phones..
But you will like a lot of the features of WM7 and guess some of them you will downright Hate
But still its fun and the screen is the best for browsing .. you definetely wont need to be on your comp all day
Hopefully by next year with the updates and more apps we will be rocking...
I think you will like it
i dont have the deathgrip issue although i do have a problem sometimes in my home but that is because it is very rural where i live but all in all, its a great phone
and i havent noticed the pink hue yet
Thank you so much for all of your replies! I think I'm going to pick one up today. I'll let you guys know.
Hi guys,
just received this phone for a test.
Phone is really great, filling in hand is awesome and you lose the feel about its size after few minutes. Phone is fast, maybe not fast as Nexus 5 which I have also because LG put really a lot bloatware, but it is extremely fast. Battery is also great for now, but I have been using it for today only. We will see in few days that.
Besides good things screen is bad. You can see the noise and its really annoying. I could say this is the only disadvantage at this point.
turn the brightness up to 70+ and screen noise goes away.battery is the best on any phone out there
Congrats but if everyone makes a thread on first impressions it's going to be a mess up n here. lol

Yes, it not notable in daily use outside, but only at home and in office where I am more focused on phone and on screen.
But it is particulary notable when watchig movies. But you adapt to it of course. Human is designed to adapt.
One minus on screen is ghosting or how you call it. Example, you are on homescreen and you enter in some dark app you can see the shadows of icons in background for five second aprox. Or skipping fast between apps also show this effect sometimes.
Besides this issues with screen, there is no issues. Phone is great, rock solid build. Would say awesome.

I feel exactly the same after playing with one in the store for a while. The grainy look doesn't bother me and if you turn up the brightness it goes away. The ghosting is what really got me. I loved everything about the phone but that ghosting I couldn't handle. I'm going to wait for the G Flex 2, this phone is almost perfect so if they fix the minor issues with the screen and don't screw anything else up the G Flex 2 will be my next phone.
Proven to be an interesting phone
It's proven to be an interesting phone thanks to its curved, flexible body.
Featuring a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 720p display P-OLED display with colors that have a certain pop.
I know since G Flex 2 is just announced. I actually like the Flex. Just wanted to know if anyone has any peculiar inputs about it. Things I need to be careful about...?
Does anyone get a headache due to the bent screen?
Thanks!

Great phone, IMO I like the design of the old flex better than the new one. I was planning on updating because the phone does have a sub par screen ( eg: the slight ghosting and 720p) but I couldn't go without the notification light on the back! No headaches from the screen at all, the real headaches are from the small number of devs working on this phone! Once the flex gets lollipop this phone will be golden.
would buy

Thanks so much dear friend...I was just wondering if reading books is an issue. The 5.5 Flex2 would be great I know.. But the price is great too and this worries me.
The Flex original looks awesome...not very worried about the 720p display unless its a real hindrance.
I would mostly be doing:
Texting(WhatsApp)
Instagram
Flipboard
Google Books
and other regular browsing.
Occasionally movies watching...
What do you recommend then...the new Flex or the Original?

Then i would definitely recommend the first one. Bigger battery life, bigger screen and MUCH smaller price tag.
The screen really isn't even noticeably an issue unless you are on lowest brightness all the time (like me), but even then the screen is still pretty nice looking. The flex's poled screen would be great for reading with a black background on white text because it really produces deep blacks and uses no battery doing so!

I've heard a lot about the legendary battery life...let's see how the Flex2 is priced..but so far...the flex original is my fav.
Thanks again..also...does it slow down with a tons of apps installed/?
Well, the gf2 is going to be priced higher than the g3. So expect 250$ to 350$ carrier pricing.
I've not experienced any slow down with tonns of apps installed.
Make sure though, if buying online, not to get a Chinese or Japan version.
I've been very happy with my flex, and came from the note2 which has mega dev support.
The 720p p-oled screen isn't as bad as many say. If you hold it 3inches from your face, you'll notice its not perfect, but at a normal 12inches or more its just fine.
Battery life is just stellar. There isn't much bad to say about it, other than taking slightly longer to charge.
All in all, if you want a large screen, top shelf battery life, and a dam near unbreakable phone, then the OG Flex is definitely not a bad choice.
on my flex last night I got 6.5 hours of screen on time and 17 hours on battery and was only down to 25% battery life and it said estimated life left was 3 hours
Thanks both you guys! Looking forward to get the Flex!!
na
Run run run FAST Dont waste your time on the FLEX
I wish there was a way to NOT thank someone, other than just not THANKING them...? Ickyz, ? indeed.
Really like this phone. Except the lack of development.
As far as F2 smaller screen & poorer battery life. If the F2 unsubsidized price is the same as the original ~$940 USD it's going to keep a lot of people away.
If the Flex was the same price as comparable Samsungs it'd have just as much development. But pricing it $300-$400 more than the Samsungs is crushing the development of it.
I'm not sure how many of you experience this issue, but I definitely run in to it now and again especially when using the XDA app coincidentally. On certain grey tones at low brightness and in night mode, you can get situations where you know that the screen should be a uniform gray but it just isn't. I get some areas of the screen that are definitely darker than others. It's not noticeable usually during the day or even most of the time at night, but it bothers me that it exists at all. This was a much bigger problem on some of the initial units and is much less of a problem now. It really makes minimal functional issues but this doesn't seem to be a problem with other amoleds. A bit disconcerting quirk of my favorite smartphone.

I noticed this when I got my OP3 back in June, I wanted to contact OnePlus about this and get an exchange but didn't seem worth waiting another 3 weeks for a phone. Someone on the forum got an instant replacement though.
I sold mine because of this.
I sent it to replacement 2 weeks ago. The new one is on its way though. It should arrive some time this week, hopefully with no problems.
Yeah mine has the same issue, not sure what to do
My phone is manufactured in August 2016, just noticed it yesterday - when the screen should be dark, left/top side of the screen seems to be lit little bit more - lighter gray than the rest of the screen.
Going to root in a couple of days, normally would just would send back, but don't want the ball ache of waiting a couple of weeks for a replacement. Should be able to minimise with different themes
Got my replacement phone, also with the issue but less noticeable. I think I'm gonna stay with it.
EDIT: Forgot to tell that in the previous the problem was 'top-to-bottom' and in the new one it's 'left-to-right'.
I want to buy a Motorola Edge 20 Pro but i want to ask anyone with a Edge 20 Pro could you please check if there is discoloration or tint issues in the display and sent me a picture I would really appreciate it. I am thinking of buying this phone but i held off because I wanted to know if the screen gets a green tint when viewed in darker apps like a dark mode of chrome or anything similar with a dark grey background. I have heard oled sceens tend to have this issue.
I myself used 2 phones with this issue they were the Poco F3 and the Pixel 6 and i both returned them for the green tint issues.
Bump
I noticed that last night actually. I was watching some videos and screen got really dark, and top of my screen was a bit brighter for some reason. I downloaded black picture, and put it on full screen, and then I dim the brightness down, and yeah, same result.
I would not recommend this phone to anyone. I have a touchscreen issues, entire UI is bugging, camera quality is awful. Fingerprint sensor is unresponsive at least 30% of the time.

Weren't the touchscreen issues supposed to have been sorted via a software update earlier in the year? What problems are you having with the ui? The camera does seem to get a lot of complaints, your not on your own there.

Im still have issues of some double touches.
https://www.reddit.com/r/motorolaedge20/comments/uul4q5
My issue looks like this, Ive tried launchers, just stock UI, to hard reset my edge 20 pro, and use just stock ui, but after a while, same bug is happening.
And for the camera, you have tons of complaints as well, tho they made it a little bit better with last update, users waited a year for that lol.

Alright so i have been away for a little while, but now I’m back and i have to say that you’re right about the Motorola Edge 20 Pro I actually bought that phone because I thought let’s give it a chance how bad can it be? But boy was I wrong, because the phone had many problems. First of all. Lag issues, like everywhere. Second of all. Screen issues, black crush, green tint on the top of the phone and red tint on the bottom of the phone. Software was laggy and touchscreen was unresponsive. So I returned the phone and finally got a refund.
I've reached out to Lenovo support. They asked me for a lot of bug reports, which I have provided.
What I've noticed lately is a burst of touches that happens sometime. Like, I'm typing a message "what's up?' And phone would just glitch and act like i pressed 10 of letters "p", 'Whats's uppppppppppp" With all vibrations for every letter.
Also, double touch function on finger print sensor is not working like 70% of time. And just like a strawberry on a cake. Every time you reboot/turn off and on your phone, this function will disable itself for some reason.
I've have Sony xperia J, Sony M2, Sony XA, Motorola g6, Moto g6 play, Redmi Note 8 pro, and now Motorola edge 20 pro.
So far, this phone is the worst phone I've have ever had.
It's not worth this money nor your nerves to deal with all the issues this phone have.
I didn’t even need to contact Lenovo directly I just contacted the store told them my issues, but they ended up sending me a new phone (The same phone) even though i said I didn’t want it anymore. At first, I had some trouble returning the phone afterwards, I returned the phone to them which took 3 times to walk to the store and back because there was some sort of communication issues and that’s why they returned the phone to me even though i sended it and demanded a refund which they agreed upon eventually but then sended the phone back and yadadadadadadadadda. End of the story is that I eventually, headachely returned the phone and got my money back. Because the store was so nice and actually told me that i will get my money back which is better then contacting lenovo and going through the stupid hassle of trying to contact them and them saying that “they will help you and yadadadada” Because let’s be real the manufacturer just wants you to keep the phone lol.
Sorry for the unorganized post just woke up lol
I took this phone over Yettel carrier. So I will try anything before trying to return it. As it will be really difficult.... The phone must go to the official service center 3 times before they would be able to process a refund to me.
And I need phone so. Yeah, im stuck with this unresponsive, piece of glass and plastic.
Can’t you just use one of your other phones? As a back up (Unlike me who has them all with broken unresponsive screens) lol.

I sold my Redmi Note 8 pro to get this junk. FML
Got my refund back, and i don’t know which phone to buy.
Sorry to hear all these bugs about the phone. Mine had a recurring rebooting problem. Sent to official Motorola repair (3rd party, Roadhound), but they can't replicate the problem. I made a video about it here:
Motorola Edge 20 Pro Rebooting Problem
Random reboot before and after Motorola Service checkup.
bit.ly
Finally returned to my JBHiFi store (AUS) and got a refund. Got a Zenfone 8 and never looked back.
