Viper4Android is working on Android 5.1.1 L09 - L00
I'm sorry for my bad english, but i try to do my very best
What you need:
- Unlocked Bootloader
- Android 5.1.1
- Custom Recovery (TWRP)
- 4 Files at the end of the Post
Instructions
1. Download the 4 Files and put it in your Phone Storage
2. Boot into TWRP and flash the files in this order:
V4A_MXP.zip
Viper4A_Soundfix_LibFiles.zip
Viper4A_Build_Prop_Tweaks.zip
*Wipe Cache & Dalvik-Cache and reboot*
3. Open V4A and install drivers and reboot
4. By now, u should have a normal working V4A under normal mode but without neon support. Continue with next step to fix this
5. Open V4A and uninstall drivers and reboot
6. Now you need to uninstall V4A, but you need an app for deleting System Apps like Titanium Backup
*reboot*
7. Install the normal Viper4Android APK (End of this Post) not the .zip
It must be installed as a user app not a system app
8. Open V4A and install drivers. Now it will work with NEON Support under normal mode
HAVE FUN!!!
If it works for you, please give me a thanks!!!
Works great on 5.1.1 UL00 B146
Hello everyone, my question is simple: is there a way to install Viper4Android on Oxygen OS 5.x?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1an_JvpfjR_KNQJYeidqKBTJJeL_Bnddj/view?usp=drivesdk
Should be rooted
Use test fix apk
Use oreo audio library

it does not work. I have already done it many times and when restarting it asks again to install the driver
Viper4Android requires permissive SELinux to work in OOS Oreo. Turn on developer mode in the Viper app and use it to switch SELinux status and see if Viper works (provided that you've already made the necessary changes to audio libraries). Your phone will reset SELinux every time it reboots though, so you will have to manually disable it again after every reboot. Alternatively, you can set up something like Tasker to automatically switch SELinux into permissive mode on reboot using the following shell command with superuser privaledge:
setenforce 0
Am using viper4android on oreo for weeks, follow these steps:
1) install magisk 14.3 in twrp and reboot (I reccomend latest blue_spark version of twrp), get magisk here
2) Install Magisk Manager, get it here
3) Download V4A from here
4) Go to Magisk Manager and click on Modules, click + icon and choose V4A zip you just downloaded, reboot device
5) you are done, enjoy working V4A

Just curious... Why the Mega links? All those downloads are available through official sources.

Of course they are. Get it wherever you want, it is your choice. This was faster way for me to include dl links and I can say that combination of these files works without any issue. I cannot guarantee when you get different version on V4A it will still work.
For example the V4A module available in Magisk Manager never worked for me on any Oreo rom.

It didn't work for me. When I open Viper4Android and try to install the drivers, it gives me an I/O error.

Try this one flash using TWRP and choose only v⁴a and Dolby other just skip or uninstall set Linux to permissive
And even if this doesn't work again flash and select uninstall for every option and try test fix APK it should fix io error

Don't bother telling me it doesn't work when you clearly didn't follow the steps above. On top of that your ROM is already messed up. Start with clean flash and follow the steps above.

Thank you, I already solved with the classical procedure for Nougat, deleting audio_effects.conf and installing the test fix apk but with SELinux Mode Changer in order to set SELinux to permissive too.

"don't bother"
Dude, calm down and relax.
"you clearly didn't follow the steps"
I followed every steps you wrote, and they didn't work for me. Did you watch me working with my phone?
"your ROM is already messed up"
No, you didn't watch me working with my phone, otherwise you would know I have the absolutely clean OxygenOS 5.0.
Too much arrogance.

Of course you didn't follow my steps as this error you got never comes up when you use my files I have uploaded for you. There is no need to play with Linux mode nor the I/o fix etc. I have flashed these files on many oreo ROMs, in total like 30x and everytime works as a charm. So before you say something doesn't work, make yourself a favour and do a clean flash because clearly you didn't.
Only trying to help you.
I've only ever had viper working on Oreo on the 3t with SElinux permissive. there are other threads where others have said the same.
I've tried multiple v4a magisk modules all of which have given me abnormal status.
If you wish to get it working inside the following magisk modules
Magisk SElinux Permissive script
Viper4Android FX for magisk v14+
Apart from that I think we may have to wait for an update to fix the SElinux permissions for enforcing

You don't understand me, or maybe you don't want to. I did a clean flash of the OxygenOS 5.0, then I flashed your Magsisk 14.3 zip. After that, I installed your Magisk Manager apk, and I added your Viper4Android module. Everytime I tried to open the Viper4Android app, it was always asking me to install the drivers, who always failed because of an I/O error.
So has anyone installed Viper succesfully? I tried Nexus5-32GB's solution, but the magisk module would not install, there was magisk_merge.img mount failed error.

Try my solution. I followed the Nougat procedure, deleting audio_effects.conf and installing the test fix apk, but setting SELinux to permissive too.
V4A showing that to install driver I need to have Busybox, I installed BusyBox and the driver installed later rebooted. But again when I open it, It is asking to install driver and reboot. I am running V4A version 2.3.4.0, OOS 5 Magisk 14.6 and Manager 5.5.0.
Not able to find V4A developer mode, appreciate some help, please.
Hi guys,
So I installed via twrp dolby atmos v2.1.0, and maybe it's a wrong version for my phone. It doesn't do anything about improving my sound. How can I uninstall it by flashing a zip file or manual deleting?
Hope you can help me guys.
P.S. I alreasy tried flashing the uninstall_dolby_atmos with a size of 1.43kb. it doesn't work either.

Dirty Flash the ROM zip and gapps. It's that easy.
This will overwrite the system partition and remove any other stuff from system.
For easier usage I'd prefer magisk module of Dolby.

Steps to Install ViPER4Android on Android 10
1.Download the latest ViPER4Android v2.7.1.0 APK
https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx
2.Install the downloaded APK on your Android 10 device using a file manager app.
3.Launch the ‘ViPER4Android’ app but do not install the drivers right now.
4.Open ‘Magisk Manager’ and go to the ‘Downloads’ section of the app.
5.Search and find the “Audio Modification Library” module and press the download icon next to it.
6.Tap on the ‘INSTALL’ button to install the module on your device.
7.Magisk module installer will prompt you to reboot but do not reboot your phone yet.
8.Now go back to the ViPER4Android app, tap on “OK” to install the required V4A drivers.
9.Grant the Superuser permissions to the app when prompted.
10.After the drivers are installed, the device will automatically reboot.
11.Once the device reboots, go to ‘Magisk Manager’ → ‘Modules’ and uncheck the ‘Audio Modification Library’ to disable it.
Now head back to ViPER4Android, repeat the driver installation process, and let the device reboot.
Once the device boots, launch the ViPER4Android app. Now, if the drivers are installed properly, you’re done! If not, only then follow the steps further.
Go to ‘Magisk Manager’ → ‘Modules’ and re-enable the ‘Audio Modification Library’ module.
Open ViPER4Android, install the drivers when prompted, and let the device reboot.

2.Dolby Atmos not working on Oos ob7 OnePlus 7 pro. Instaled like a module with Magisk Manager.
I follow the guide. FC on anything i touch in the app. All the time. It stuck on "MOVIE" settting. Does not take other settings. Does not set the Eq at all. FC :crying:
I use/test this: [Q-10]Dolby Digital Plus_v.6.8-[UNiTY][Light]_by_repey6-20191212.zip
This method didn't work because you must disable with titanium backup the default dolby integrated with oos 10 first, then install the magisk dolby mod.
Other way it's installing xxx_nolimits and set dolby in his script profile, the mod disables the integrated dolby in oos for you.
I followed your steps to install Viper without problem but DDPlus shows error after installed it. One key step you have forgotten to write it down: Need to install "magisk_selinux_manager" in magisk, then DDPlus will be working !

try uninstalling mods and upgrade magisk, if you have the latest install canary build.
The Dolby app stops continuously (even with SeLinux Permissive and BusyBox installed)...

If you're still on pie, this mod is a better alternative to viper. It works great and settings can be changed via xml file. I use it together with Dolby digital. It's a little known port but I've used it for a while now.

Hi, I have the 7 pro but it should work on your device. Do NOT flash on Android 10. You will end up with a crash dump. If you move to 10, ensure you uninstall it using the uninstaller. Removing module is not enough. Flash module in twrp. I've moved back to the 4.2 version. More choices to edit. Reboot and flash corresponding xml zip. Wipe cache and reboot. Go to system/etc and find soundalive folder. In it, you will find xml. Use text editor to change values. When first opened, it will be incomplete. Change a Bluetooth setting, save and exit. When you go back in, the xml will be fully loaded. Follow the instructions in the thread on how to change values. It really is a good mod. Together with Dolby digital and ice sound, my 7pro sounds louder and clearer than a Note 10. Good luck.

Thanks for the immediate response,
Please correct me if I'm wrong @tropical cactus
first I need to flash 4.2 version via twrp then reboot to system
then again reboot to recovery and flash corresponding xml but this time wipe cache & dalvik cache before rebooting to system.
I'm going to use default settings and I'm not have any plan to upgrade to Android 10.
Do I also need to install sound alive apk? If yes, then please provide the link for the same.
Regards.

Yes, flash both in twrp. Doesn't work if flash in magisk. Download 4.2 and soundalive _r6_son.zip. The xml will give you control over the sound, like on a Samsung phone. There's tube amp effect, bass and treble control, surround, concert hall. If you don't want that, just flash 4.2 or the latest 4.3.1. Remember to flash old version to uninstall before flashing new one. Forgot, no uninstaller. Just flash same zip to uninstall.
I tried a lot of methods to install ViperFx on A12 but it didn't work out unfortunately for first 7-8 tries. Found this guide on YouTube and it worked out perfectly.
1. Go to Magisk(23.0) modules section, download Viper4android and install it.
2. Then install the 'ViperFx fix' module from below by clicking on option 'install from storage'.
3. Open Viperfx app, download driver and Done!!!
4. Bonus:- Download this file IRS. Go to Android/data/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx/files/Kernel and paste the contents of the irs folder, not the irs folder itself.
Worked, thank you!
Tried it exactly as above but doesn't work in S22 Ultra. The same driver installation loop ...
