Forgive my ignorance if this has been answered already, but I have not found a thread for the Kindle Fire HD 7" that poses the same question.
Why does my stock (brand new un-rooted) Kindle Fire HD 7" not sync properly with my Gmail account.
Email seems to work fine, but will stop from time to time (message states it is unable to connect to my account)
Calendar only shows my main calendar, not other calendars (I am more interested in the sub calendars)
Contacts syncs random contacts and displays several hundred less than I actually have
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how was it resolved?
I answered my own question. I used Google and Exchange. My Contacts are there, but now my calendars aren't syncing.

because your device don't have Googleloginservice.apk in system/app, you can search on google and find it, then past it into system/app and change permission rw-r--r--...good luck
I use Google as my contact repository and make a lot of use of groups.
As the built in Kindle Fire HD person app does not touch groups, what route is there to having all my contact information on the Kindle. I use aContact on my phone which gives a nice interface to the Google contact data but I can not work out how to get the native Google contact data synced to my Kindle.
I have followed another thread and have Sync Settings installed and can see the Google sync settings and on the Google account there is no contact option. The only contact option is on the Exchange and Amazon accounts.
Any ideas how I can get the Google contact data to sync.
I wish I had a better answer but I have loaded several google apps on my hd and in the "people" app that I believe is amazons I note my google contacts are in it...
I'm guessing it autoloaded the list into it

I'm Japanese and i have "amazon.co.jp" account and "amazon.com" account.
There are a lots of Japanese books I want to read are not sold at amazon.com but.co.jp.
I mainly use amazon.com account (Prime).
So what I'm doing right now is I download books to my pc and upload to device by usb.
The problem of this method are two.
1st, I have to first logout my from ".com" and log in back with ".co.jp" account with my Kindle in order to Amazon web site recognize my kindle. Otherwise I Amazon web side won't even show the choice of "downloading by USB".This is very pain
2nd, Since I'm uploading books directly to my kindle, The books are not syncing to cloud. If I open those books with other device such as my iphone, the book is not there....
There must be somebody else experiencing same problem. Please help!
I rooted the device and used my google account.
But it is a gift for my wife and now the calender does not get the info from her google account.
Maybe this is because google play uses my account.
How to proceed to switch google play to her account?

This worked for me. My account can't post external links yet to so google "Change the account of the Android market on the kindle fire". Look at the 4th post on an androidcentral thread.
I have a Kindle Fire (KFSOWI on Fire OS 4.1.1 [11.4.1.1]) and I have sideloaded several Google Apps onto it (G+, Youtube, Gmail) as well as the Google Framework apps (Google Login Services, Google Services Framework, and Google Play) and they all start without saying something is missing. However, when I try to login to any of these apps, it tells me that my password is wrong (I have tried many times, so I know I am entering it correctly). I have 2-factor authentication enabled on my account, but I don't think that is affecting it at this point. I'm not sure if I have the right versions of all the framework apps, as I could not find recently updated downloads for them. Are the versions wrong, or am I missing something?
