FlashFire or Titanium Backup are good starting points. Note both are dependent on a working rom for backup -and- recovery as there is no mechanism for using a custom recovery with a 5.1.1 bootloader.
By full backup I meant "stock firmware".
I found it, and installed. Sadly didn't fix the problem I have with my fire. ?

Yep - that's a hardware item. Amazon will exchange it if under warranty.

I recently installed the Titan Prime Rom for my xt1064. It started glitching out so I decided to go back to my stock firmware. The only firmware that I have found is from this link: motofirmwaredotcenter/files/category/38-titan/ (first one)
Anyone know if this firmware is flashable? I plan on using the following guide: techtrickzdotcom/how-to/how-to-reinstall-official-firmware-on-2nd-gen-moto-g-2014/
I wanna go back to fully stock because I don't have any backup phones in case this one bricks or something. Some advice would be greatly appreciated too!

Look at this thread, it should have everything you need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore-t2957167
BTW, I'm suprised you had that many problems with Titan, I'm using the 1.02 Unified and it's been rock solid on my XT1064. Not one glitch or problem.

My Volume up button has stopped working. And when it does work it brings volume up all the way with just one click. It might be a hardware problem but i'm restoring to stock just to be sure.

Let me know how that restore works out for you. I haven't used it, but I'm curious as to how it went on the XT1064.

Worked perfectly. Even restored my recovery back to stock.
Can I just restore the backup from twrp on multiple Fire tablets? I want to setup 4 exactly the same.

No problem.
I just restored a twrp backup from one Fire to another. Seems to be no problem.
Hello,
I have a Gen 1 Kindle Fire I would like to root and install a full Android OS -- I'm thinking Kit Kat.
The easiest way looks to be to use the Kindle Fire Utility 0.9.9, but as it runs, it tries to download from broken links and so doesn't work.
Is there a full KFU out there that doesn't need to download anything? What are my options here?
Thank you.
Regards,
Josh

KFU does not root 6.3.3 or 6.3.4

Well, dang, I coulda' sworn it did.
So I need to use Saferoot. How would I go about unlocking the bootloader, or installing a custom bootloader? Will the option on KFU allow me to install a custom ROM?
I apologize if I'm asking questions covered in the thread you referenced. I grew up in the DOS/BASIC/C/early Windows era and am still trying to transition to Android and its terminology.
Thank you.

I'm diggin' your Shadow screen name. I listen to OTR in the shop while I work and get to hear the originals a lot.

Hello,
I have root now (thank you!), but in KFU option 6, random.kennocha.com is timing out. Should I just side load the Google Store after installing the new OS?
Thank you,

Hello,
I got it figured out and am now running stock Kitkat.
It seems the TWRP version needed to be higher than the 2.2.x that was included in the package I installed. I just upgraded to TWRP 2.8x.otter and it worked very nicely.
It's been a heck of a learning curve the past couple days. I'm used to just typing "format c:" and going from there!
Do you have any suggestions for the Google Play Store? I've not messed with that, yet.
Regards,
Josh

Hello,
It's 4.4 KitKat. I figured out Play Store.
This is getting fun. I'd like to see the Android architecture, though. I was A+ certified years back, and the class books were good for studying Windows. Are there any books on the Android OS you know of?
Regards,
Josh

You can't; bootloader (thus kernel) remain locked.

Thank you for your answer. Too bad, I hope that someone competent will find a way to root this version, if not at least a way to uninstall Fire launcher and other system applications.

- root is very unlikely
- but there's still a lot you can do: https://forum.xda-developers.com/am...-to-make-50-amazon-fire-tablet-stock-t3710158

Thank you ?. I have already made these changes. I would have liked to free some memory by uninstalling some applications. We'll see.

Hi! On another thread, I think, I found that if you turn the screen off, wait about 5 to 10 seconds, then turn it on again (by touching the on/off button at the top), the install button goes orange and you can install. You have to do this process for each separate APK - hope it works for you, too! (I'm on 5.6, too)
