Hi everyone,
I have a HTC One M7 device (M7_UL), with these specifications :
S-OFF
HBOOT 1.54
OS-2.24.161.1
I flashed everything (recovery, custom rom, etc.) but I just have the warning message when my device boots ("this built is for development...")
I wanted to remove it, so I have to flash my hboot.
In this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42379041#post42379041, I've found a hboot 1.54 that I can download and modify by myself with hex-editing (as explained in the same topic).
My only question is : regarding my current base (2.24.161.1) and because the hboot 1.54 proposed is for the base 2.24.401.1, could it be possible to flash it without bricking my device ?
By the way, except doing a Nandroid Backup, is there an another deep backup which can be done to save all the partitions ?
Thanks a lot for your help !

Hi all,
I don't know why I've done this, but I want to revert. Because I've done a very big mistake!
I've flashed official sense 3.0 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but I wanted to gain S-Off. First, I've unlocked the bootloader by htcdev. It has successfully done. Then I flashed the recovery. And I tried restoring one of my older backups.
Now my phone is not opening. White screen shows then does nothing. I've a gold card. And tried re-flashing sense 3.0 rom but after loading PG32IMG.zip, Something like "No image or Wrong image" shows for a sec then it goes back to the fastboot menu. So, I cannot flash the same rom. I relocked the bootloader, so it's now RELOCKED S-On.
My mainver is 3.08.405, and I have two options:
* Flashing RUU with mainver 4.08.605.3,
* Or, Flashing RUU with mainver 5.10.605
I want the first one but I cannot access due to server meintenance. Can anyone upload the RUU again for me?
I don't want the 2nd one because it's HBOOT version is 0.98 which cannot be rooted. If anyone knows how to root IncS with that HBOOT or how can I upgrade HBOOT version to 1.13 or 1.16, greatly appreciated!
Please help.
Thx.
Never mind.
This thread was very helpful to solve my problem:

Thanks anyway.
Hey Guys,
i hope you can help me.
I restore my mobile phone with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359555
This worked perfectly, but i has no warranty longer because the warranty is over.
I will install a new Display at another time, may u read my thread with this stupid display^^.
Now i wanted to get s-off on hboot. I unlocked my phone via htcdev and i installed revolutionary (Recovery) over fastboot and flashed my recovery. So i could install a custom rom.
But my HBoot is still longer S-ON with the version (2.00000). How can i set it on S-OFF? If i install a custom rom i have always to flash the boot.img in fastboot, otherwise there is a white HTC background at the bootin'
Sry for my english, all i have to say for my excuse is "German..."
If you're 2.00, you have to downgrade to one supported by revolutionary
You'll need to downgrade to 1.09 or 1.13, there is a thread on how to do it, I'd post link but on phone and connection is slow atm
Hi EveryBody,
Since i made the official ICS upgrade given by HTC, my phone began to shutdown when i was in bad reception zone..
So i made some things to attempt to avoid this problem :
- Hard Reset of the phone (the problem disapear few days and come back)
- S-OFF, rooting and installing 3Musketeer Total NoSense ROM (the problem disapear few days and come back)
Someone told me to downgrade the radio of the phone only, but i cannot find any files and commands to do that. All RUU i can find are complete roms.
Does somebody can help me ?
Thanks a lot !
Here are my informations :
Android : 4.0.3 (i'd like to stay on ICS...)
Radio : 20.70.30.0832U_3831.16.00.16_M
Kernel : 3.0.16 [email protected] #7
Build : Vertigo's Total Senseless v4.1.1
Nobody ?
Here is what you can do:
1.Install a GB RUU.
2.Root it.
3.Download XL Multi Tool from my signature.
4.Flash ICS S-OFF Hboot. (via tool)
5.Flash Recovery for ICS via Fastboot (via tool)
6.Install any custom ROM you want.
Note that this method was not tested, it is theory, so you can give it a try if you want, if not keep searching around
to downgrade radio you only need S-OFF.
Make S-OFF
Flash radio. (Extracted from RUU)
Look to my guide. Link in signatue.
Lexmazter - if you have stock 1.28 hboot you can't flash any thing older than this hboot. You will get error. Only S-Offing helping.

I know you can't flash something older, thats why i said to go to GB first and then upgrade the Hboot only, in other words, what i said there is to go back to older RUU and after that upgrade everything manually - Hboot, Recovery and after that the ROM
Thanks a lot guys, i'll test ASAP and tell you if it worked !
I have Htc one m7 801n htc_europe with 4.4.3 android and Hboot 1.57.
Is it safe to root this android and hboot because i read that some users have problems with this configuration (here and on other sites)? Something special about rooting procedure on this hboot?

Whenever you root or modify any phone, there is a element of risk no procedure is foolproof or certain for each device. Best you could do is follow the procedures closely and if you have questions get answers to them before proceeding. I do not know of any special rooting procedure for the hboot 1.57, however it is difficult to achieve S-OFF with your hboot.
like majmoz said, there is nothing different rooting the M7 on hboot 1.57. Just make sure you know how to get back to stock before proceeding. Going back to stock will often require S-OFF and like majmoz said, Its a little more difficult on hboot 1.57 and even impossible for some phones. If you don't care about going back to stock (i.e no more warranty) then you'll probly don't need s-off but you will be stuck using custom roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one#root
Well, for now i will use the stock, just want the root and custom recovery. I don`t care about the warranty.
-edit-
all went fine
-EDIT2-
after installing UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65 and power off the phone starts to restart on 40 seconds after boot... good that i made backup right after install of the recovery
Hi Guys,
1. I'm on S-ON with hboot 1.57 - is there currently any free way to S-OFF the phone or is it Sunshine only?
2. The roms here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/ - Can I flash an appropriate one when I'm on S-ON with my hboot at 1.57, or would I need to go S-OFF.
I basically want to flash to stock to fix a blank IMEI, baseband and OS / firmware... I also want to update the firmware so I can safely use the Viper ROM... I've currently got it installed now and it looks ok, minus the fact half the phone's info is blank and I can't make a call I'm assuming flashing to stock will fix this.
Thanks guys!

no
these are old roms (your phone is running a recent firmware) but yes it can be flashed with s-on
You already have another thread for the same topic why creating another one?
Thanks Alray - I really just wanted to know if it was possible to S-OFF on 1.57 without having to spend the $25 - I thought that was pretty specific and aside from the issues with my phone, hence the new thread
I'm downloading the files now and will likely S-OFF later on, thank you!
