If you used my ROM before replacing the screen and everything was OK, then my ROM probably is not the issue.
You could try recalibrating your battery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1024867
If that doesn't help, you will have to get a new battery. (good thing our battery is removable )
There might be other reasons why this happened to you. Try goggling a bit more. It might yield some success.

Hey guys.
I just bought a Dream to someone, I wanted to try after so many years of Windows Mobile.
I have a HC battery (1600 Mah) and I'm not sure if this is the problem (poor quality battery maybe?), but I can't pass the day without a big utilisation. Just a few SMS and calls.
The phone has been flashed with a cyanogen Rom, and in the battery utilisation, I can see 40% screen and 40% GSM sleep. I think it's really huge and I am wondering if there is not an issue with the radio Rom.
Thanks for all the advices.
Since you got a new batt you could try wiping batt stats from recovery then letting the batt die and recharging it to calibrate it.
Thanks for the answer, but the battery came with the phone . I bought it on an Android forum.
I did a swipe on the first boot anyways.

Might be worth wiping battery stats from the recovery console and then re-flashing the ROM. If the battery life is still terrible after that, then i imagine your battery is screwed.
Ok thanks, that's clear now.
How to do that exactly?

If not I suggest you get the Amon_Ra recovery
I'm on the Fasty 2.3 rom and I just cant seem to go more then 12 hours on battery life even on light useage. The only thing I keep on is my 3g service, which is all the time. I've also tried using battery calibrationaters (lol) and none of them seem to calibrate my captivate.. I think. What's a good app to monitor my battery and also an app to help me calibrate my battery in case I'm doing it wrong somehow?
I calibrate by charging to 100% and then rebooting my phone but my phone seems to drain at the same speed no matter what I do. I installed Fasty from stock also.
Chechk the battery what is using the battery, maybe it's the android OS

And what if it is indeed the android OS?
Remove the battery and put it back say about after 15/20 mins, This has helped some members to solve this issue. Just give it a try.

Lol, I've been reading and I guess there's a bug with the Android OS or something and it'll run high if your phone is on for a long time. The fix is just to restart.

That did it! I charged my phone up to 100% then i calibrated it. Shut off my phone, took that battery out, grabbed a plate of food and decided to watch Despicable Me, finished my meal and then put the battery back and now my phone is at 67% after 18 hours!
Great, Thats amazing 67 after 18 good going mate.
That's strange, my battery is inaccurate. When it arrives ate 17% it dies, when I start charging again it starts at 1%, then when arrive at 80% it appears at 100%
Something is really wrong, I dunno why.
I already tried wiping the battery stats (on recovery), but still the same thing.
Any help? Any app to fix it?
Thanks.

The battery seems physically dead. Calibration is bullcrap anyway, it proceeds automatically once you reach 100% battery.
My phone is buging. Can you help me? Thank pro.

You fixed it?

Maybe try wiping battery stats in cwm recovery and reflash the rom ur using I had this issue but mine used to die out at 7% or so after I did that haven't seen battery issues since then I'm on miui rom might work for u too. I think it happens if you flash new roms a lot at that time I was experimenting with all kinds of roms then stuck around with miui since I believe its the best

Maybe it's the battery
I had to change a few days ago 'cause it started to heat up, and it lasted very little without charge.
When I remove the battery, I noticed that it was swollen.

Try to flash a clean Stock with Odin, and the next time, ask for it in Q & A Thread!!
Thank you for your attention
First, clear your battery stats.
If that doesn't work, reflash your ROM or try another one.
If that also didn't work, remove back cover and take out the battery. If it is swollen or shaped weirdly, that is the end of your battery and you'll have to purchase a new one.

CM Roms use Firekernel which takes up a lot of battery. When I used CM, I got about 5 hours battery.
I would suggest to go with a stock rom, flash battery extender kernel, or spacekernel and flash some scripts like 14 toggles and others. It would be like a CM experience only.:fingers-crossed:
Hi All,
I am using following ROM and Kernal.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315448
And I am having terrible battery issue, it lasts no more than 6 hours.
Am I using a bad combination?
Please advice
Santosh
I searched the thread you posted for a word 'battery' - it popped 159 results, most of them regarding high battery consumption. Maybe it is time to consider changing a ROM?
Remember that active sync, max brightness, wifi and especially 3G connection are battery drainers. When you don't use them, turn them off.

And if your battery is getting old it might be a good idea to get a new one. Mine died at 2years of age, replaced it with a anker 1800mAh and i had twice the capacity of the old one.
