Hi I am new to this forum though have been scouring information for a while, I have finally run into a problem where I could do with some help:
I have just unlocked the bootloader using HTCdev, all is fine. I downloaded twrp 2.8.5 from the official website and followed the instructions. The problem I face is that the hardware combo doesn't boot into recovery and so I appear unable to boot to twrp. All the buttons work fine.
I tried fastboot reboot bootloader and that also didn't allow me into twrp.
The phone is locked to vodafone uk and their splash screen comes up before HTC probably when I should end up in recovery.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Nevermind I have sorted it. Had to enter the menu item recovery
Have you tried vol up + vol down + power until the screen goes black and then keeping the pressure only on the vol down key ?

I was trying to root my one for the first time. I followed someone's tutorial online, and everything was perfect at first, until I got into using TWRP for recovery. I used version 2.5. After I got into it, the touch screen is not working. I stuck in the lock screen now, not able to unlock, not able to restart, not even able to power off. After some digging, I found out that probably I should have used the version 2.6 instead in the first place. Now my question is, do I need to wait until the power drains out before I could do anything else, or if there is anything I could do to restart the phone and do this recovery process again with TWRP v2.6? Thanks.

It is because your phone has updated firmware with the updated touch drivers. twrp 2.5 does not support the new drivers as 2.6 doesnt support the old drivers either. Download official 2.6.3.0 img file. reboot into boot loader. If you are stuck on twrp hold power button until phone turns off "10-15" sec. Hold vol down and power to get into boot loader. click fastboot. Use your computer in terminal or command
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7.img
obviously you have to be in the directory with the img file. Search twrp in google to get newest img file

I have exactly the same problem.
But I can't hard reset the HTC ONE via volume down + power button...
Can't access the phone via USB attached cable and the common tools... :///
Do I have to wait till the battery is empty or is there a further solution?
Try opening the back cover and removing your battery and connecting again(btw its easy to remove the battery on a non removable battery mobile, unless you have a finger print scanner at the back side)...now switch on the mobile........you cant charge your mobile while it is switched off....so you have to charge your battery in the frozen twrp screen and later you have to remove and connect the battery to operate your mobile(you can charge your phone normally when it is switched on)...i tried this, works fine with my HTC 826..................
BTW if someone found a solution,,please help us to remove the frozen twrp screen....I think this would help
lol same problem, i powered off the phone, then power up it, (redmi 9 lancelot) and its in chinesse lol, hten i forgot to change the leanguege and reboot it, now waiting ;-;
Hello,
I tried to flash Slim ROM on my TMo HTC One and I accidentally soft-bricked it.
First, I unlocked the bootloader, put the zip folder in storage and then went straight for flashing a ROM.
Since then, I am stuck in a bootloop even when I try to run recovery - I flashed TWRP.
Can anoyone help?

yes, this is pretty simple:
You can boot into your bootloader by pressing the power button for a long time and if the display turns off, press the volume down button and hope you jump into your bootloader.. try this out until you manage to get into your bootloader. If this doesn't work, you should hold your phone below a bright light so the sensor recognizes it.. then play around with your power button and volume buttons and you should be able to boot into your bootloader. Then connect your phone to the PC and use this fastbootcommand after you navigated to fastboot on your phone:
Code:
fastboot erase chache
Now you should be able to boot into your recovery..
If it helped, hit the thanksbutton or ask other questions by quoting my post so I get notified and I can answer
If you managed to enter the recovery, say it, I write further instructions... Because if I write it now and the steps above didn't work... I wrote it for no reason and yeah... just say it

thank you for your quick response, unfortunately, after erasing cache before and I still got stuck in bootloop (didnt work this time either).
Entering Recovery... appears on top of a screen and nothing happens for a long time before the phone reboots itself

I would simply reflash recovery (maybe a different one) to make sure it's not the file you have

ok.. in that case we have to do some other stuff..
Download the TWRP recovery, it's know to work better than CWM at it's current state, you can download the file for your HTC One here:
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7 (credits to: http://teamw.in/ thanks for your awesome work!)
Then when you are in the fastboot mode, use this command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "C:\pathToYourRecovery\recoveryname.img"
Then boot into recovery... and if this doesn't work too, try this command:
Code:
fastboot boot "C:\pathToYourRecovery\recoveryname.img"
If you were able to get into the recovery, or if you were not able, pls answer
!! :good: It worked and I got successfully booted the recovery, I think I was flashing a wrong version of twrp before
Hi,
I'm very new to rooting and such and only followed guides a read forum posts to get to where I am now.
My phone is rooted with stock ROM and SU, the bootloader is unlocked but no S-OFF (don't think it's possible on the mini 2 yet anyway). The new OTA update last night installed when I got home and charged my phone, then the phone just shut off and every time I tried to boot it would go straight into TWRP without showing splash screen or bootloader (even when holding power and the volume down button). When it's in this state the touch screen doesn't work and the power button only locks the phone. Holding power + vol down in this state doesn't do anything.
I have to let the power drain completely to get the phone to boot back up but it immediately boots back into recovery and then I can use ADB to force the bootloader to appear, but when I flashed the stock recovery that I found in these boards, it messes up the screen and all it shows is static with some artifacts. I have to let the power drain again to get back into the bootloader, and from the bootloader I can get the android OS to boot but I'd like to fix this completely.
I guess I should also mention that even after flashing the stock recovery the phone will still boot back into TWRP after I let the power drain so I think that means that the stock recovery isn't taking?
The twrp problem you mentioned is known, hope it'll be fixed soon. Are you sure you typed the right command to flash stock recovery? Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img?
If you get stuck, the combination is power button and volume up, not volume down...

Unfortunately I was using the wrong ADB command, I was typing "fastboot boot recovery.img". This seems to have fixed the problem so far but I have yet to try rewriting TWRP back to the phone and I probably won't until theres a fix or unless I need to.
Thank you for your help.

I had the same problem. It happens when I reboot with my phone when charging.
You can reboot your phone by holding vol up+power button.
Hi,
i've recently unlocked the boot loader of my honami and flashed
philz_touch_6.08.9-honami-FIXED-4.3_fw-290-DooMLoRD
as recovery and as boot to be able to install a custom rom. I've have installed pac_honami-lp-Nightly-20150413. Now i'm not able to enter the recovery upon boot via hotkeys (vol up/down, camera button). However i can enter the recovery by selecting the option rebooting into recovery from within the running rom.
Edit:
It was a problem in the rom. I recognized that i had taken the wrong version. Using a more recent version, the problem was gone.
Anyone has an idea what i had done wrong and can help me out?
Thanks very much in advance!
Hi, as the title says, i can't boot to twrp when the phone is powered off. It will ignore what i push and just boot into cyanogenmod.
It used to work at some point, also i can get to twrp if i restart via the twrp app.
I should probably just reflash it?
If I'd somehow lock me from the os while experimenting, i could still run twrp via fastboot in ?
kind regards!
