Hi all,
I started down a slippery slope which was what I hoped was an easy task of upgrading a relative's android phone to a later version into a several day ordeal with a broken phone.
I have a Vodafone from germany HTC One S. I wanted to upgrade to android 4.3 which seems to require a firmware update, but I'm having a very hard time finding the correct version of the RUL to apply.
Can someone help me if you happen to have that wonderful file laying around.
Here's my device's: fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 2.15.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 1.15.50.05.29

I'm currently running:
Android 4.1.1
Software Number: 1.14.709.16
Kernel: 3.4.10-gf987dcd
I would really really appreciate it if anyone had the correct RUU or could point me in the right direction.
Thanks so much.

It's 3.16.161.10 (not 3.16.161.11) and so will require you to achieve s-off or to edit the version-main to .10 from the /misc partition before you can flash it. You should find the info how to do that in your device specific forum.

Thanks

Sorry about posting on the wrong forum, I'll jump on there if you guys haven't solved my problem already.
I had S-off before, but it sounded like I needed that bit to be turned on in order to do a firmware update. If that's not the case I can turn that off again easily enough. Thanks for the file, I'll give that a go and hope it fixes my problem.

Hello XDA,
I recently unlocked my HTC One and flashed several roms on it, both Android Kitkat cm 11 and the unofficial Android Lolipop cm 12 as it just came out, that didn't work so I tried Liquid Smooth.
Now for some reason I am unable to make any calls, I tried setting the APN manually but it did not allow me to do so. Searching manually for networks results in Error while searching for network.
I tried installing several firmwares and radio's but with no success.

I have been on the wrong track all the time then, I thought so to when I searched the PN on Google. But when trying to flash a Sprint rom it told me I was using a M7. Then again I possibly did not have the right firmware when I did that. I'll try flashing different files.

Hi guys,
To make a long story short, I messed up my phone to a soft brick, revived it, and am now trying to get it back to near normal. I am currently running 6.09.401.12 odex rom by mike1986 on my at&t htc one m7. Question is, is it possible to get an ota update by downgrading my rom to an at&t rom lower than 5.12.502.2? And then get an OTA update? As an aside, on mike's rom (for international htc one) the gps takes a very long time to lock and only shows a blue dot on google maps/no compass mode. Dont know if this has to do with different type of rom or not. So how can I get back to stock while being S-ON? And I accidentally deleted my nandroids while wiping my pc (I know really stupid I did not flash a new radio/using stock radio. Here is output of system getvar:

Hello folks,
I've been trying to update my evolution HD ROM lately, and it went wrong.
I can't tell you what happened exactly, but what I can tell you is that after a succession of bad repair maneuvers, my M7 is now relocked, and has no OS at all.
I tried to unlock it again, but nothing works until now.
Can someone help me?

First edit your post and remove your IMEI and serialno.
Did you relocked the bootloader with the custom recovery still installed on your phone? And now when you are trying to unlock, AFter selecting "yes" it hangs at the "entering recovery" screen?
I just solved the problem, while you were replying.
Yes, I locked the phone with the custom recovery still on it, causing the phone to reboot each time I wanted to go to recovery.
But I managed to unlock it using the HTC dev website.
Thank you for your help !
Btw, an honnest question: why is it important I don't display my Emei and SN?

Someone could potentially clone your phone. IMEI is unique to each phone. Its like a social security number but for a phone.

My problem is getting it to 6.20 or 6.16. I need a rom that will work on this phone. I can promptly supply rom info for the 4 that I have found but don't work. I've tried all manner of installs and gotten all the errors. I had the best results putting the rom on the micro sdcard and renaming it 0P6BIMG.zip, wrong model or file too large, but it does load if it works at all. I will work with whatever I can find but want to get it and the firmware to android 6 and get a good backup before I go further.
If ANYONE can point me to a rom that will work on this phone PLEASE, PLEASE give me a name or version no.
I know this phone is ancient, but I would like to hear from anyone who has successfully worked on one.
ps: I don't want to have to break into the roms if I don't absolutely have to.
Thanks....
