My Galaxy S turns off randomly. It wont turn on until I remove the battery and put it back. It is running Android 2.2.1. Has this happened to anyone of you? Is there a solution for this?
Happening to me as well... Froyo Update screwed my phone, Planning to flash a custom ROM now... Lets hope that solves some issues...
Are you using Launcher Pro ?
It was causing the same thing to me on my i9003

I had done that a few days ago. The problem had stopped, but then started today again.
Are you running stock ROM? If yes I'd try to replace the phone.

Month old = back to service centre .
Flash rom = no warranty and possible bricked phone .

I'll flash a ROM and see if it solves the problem. If it still stays, I'll flash the factory ROM and take it to the service centre.

haha if it's me, I would not even try to flash a custom ROM. If everything is stock and it acted that way, obviously it is problematic. Send it back
I flashed Gingerbread. Problem solved. Its not happening anymore.
Well, I had exactly the same problem when I got the phone originally. I actually called my provider and got an RMA. However I decided to try and install a custom ROM and haven't looked back since.
I started with Darky's ROM and all those problems disappeared. If I were Samsung, I'd be giving Darky a job very fast. Lol!

23gb is the normal amount if you are running stock, not 25gb.

have you updated since seeing 25gb? i mean i have 25gb right now, but im running rastapop on android 5.0.2. rastapop removes some fat, so itll be a little more space left over. but when i was on stock android 5.0, it said 23gb.

25 is with stock but its just like the last 2 nexus devices sometimes when you flash stock you lose a little storage and a factory reset running stock recovery will solve this. I just had this happen. Here's a SS on stock ROM. When I flashed stock I had like 23 until the reset.

Stock recovery. Not sure about while a custom ROM is installed I always do the reset right after flashing stock.
So I finally updated to officially 5.0.1 and my 's pen won't work nothing pops up nor won't sense it on the screen. happen before when I flash a custom ron lollipop and I thought it was the romantic but others had no issues.. when that happen I did go back to 4.4.4 and it worked fine...
Any way to fix this? BTW I'm rooted now and I didn't check if my s pen was working before I rooted it..

Well right now I'm on stock 5.0.1 updated via kies.. then rooted CF.. not sure if updating using kies or odin to a stock fw matters.. I'll try it when I get home
Edit. . BTW I never got a pen to work on lollipop when I tried it while back on a custom lollipop rom. .
What is the cleanest way to update to bone stock?
Need to wipe stuff on twrp?
ok i flashed a new rom.. poprocks and im still not getting S PEN to work on lollipop.. WTH is going on with mine ? do i need to like update my baseband/kernal or something??

so this is what happen.. i was on 4.4.4 firekat and i flashed a lollipop rom i think it was the international one ported.. it worked fine but my s pen didnt work once i updated it.. so i went back to 4.4.4 firekate v5 and my s pen worked fine..
btw is there a way i can go back to kit kat 4.4.4? to see if my s pen will work again?
thanks
U would have to downgrade boot and baseband. Then odin back to stock and root. U should odin back to stock lollipop and then see if pen works then root

OK will do.. Odin back to 5.0.1 correct?
What's a for sure place to get the stock fw that's surely a good one..need them trusted ones lol
.. sammobile takes years to download lol
well i odin back to bone stock and S Pen not working going to try using kies again.. i dont think it will fix it...
at this point i think i need to downgrade back to 4.4.4
OK I think maybe I know why my s pen is not working.. maybe I need to wipe my internal memory too.. will wiping my internal memory not let me boot to download mode or twrp?
Don't want to be bricked or stuck in a blank boot up or something...
safe to wipe everything and boot it to download lode when done? I'll have my SD card out my note just in case I accidentally wipe the SD card...
Maybe something in the internal memory like a file or something preventING my s pen you work when I flash on 4.4.4 Roms and up.. always works when I'm on stock 4.4.4 or the fire Kat 4.4.4 v5 but if I flash a higher fire Kat 4.4.4 higher versions s pen won't work...
Thanks

You'll be fine. That's how I do it. I Factory Reset...then go into Recovery, Format, Wipe...hit Reboot into Download mode from within TWRP. It'll warn you that you have no OS installed...ignore, It'll then ask you to install SU I think, Ignore that also...and just go into Download MODE...connect to computer and Odin away!

As the title says is that even possible for the Note 4 ? I know sounds crazy but I want to know if it is possible. If it is, how? Please help ::fingers-crossed:
With my 910F it was possible. Thank God! Marshmallow looks like ****.. Maybe it's smoother than kitkat but the look and battery time wasnt as good as with kitkat.
To your question : download a kitkat firmware and simply flash it with Odin. Done and easy.

Actually I just saved my whatsapp folder to ext. SD card. Then I did a reset via stock recovery. But now I use a custom recovery to perform full backups . But you can install this after you did your downgrade.
You can downgrade from android 6.0.1 to 4.4.4 just flash old bootloader for android 4.4.4 and modem then flash the rom.
here's a video but I don't know if it's for the quallcom cpu version of the note 4 (It's for the sm 910 t ) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRDSRKjGhUw
Tried flashing 4.4.4 yesterday .
My device is n910g .
First I flashed lollipop 5.0.1 , then left the device for booting up and it dint booted ,cause i hadn't factory resetted my device, so after a factory reset it did booted up.
Then i flashed 4.4.4 and factory reset the device and it booted up properly.
Battery life is really amazing .

Was told N910c can flash back to 5.1.1 via Odin.
Perhaps you can then flash back to 4.4.4 afterwards?

I have an N910G and have gone back and forth between MM and KK several times without any problems. No need to go through LP to downgrade. (No matter how often I try, I just can't get to like MM!) Anyway, all you need is right here:

I used exactly the same firmware to downgrade from 6.0.1. And, of course a correct modem and bootloader. At first i flashed the modem and bootloader, using Odin 3.09, after reboot i pulled out the battery immediately. After putting back the battery, I switched the phone to download mode, and flashed the 4.4.4 firmware. Worked flawlessly. :good:
