Hi folks,
you might have noticed, that there's some interesting progress in porting the linux kernel to the Xperia X1 (a.k.a htckovsky).
See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541002
Once the kernel has nice hardware support, we are able to run some alternative OS on our device.
The most popular is obviously the Android system.
There's already some Android package you might call a proof of concept, but there's much more work to do. Mostly on hardware support.
At some level of development it maybe very helpful to get some deep insights of the hardware.
This sometimes leads to a helpful and useful project.
See here:

The best i could think of is getting access to one of the debug interfaces of the X1.
I already got some assumptions about that but i really need some hardware to fiddle with!
See here for details about the hardware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569111
So if you got a hardly damaged device, a bricked/broken X1 mainboard, please tell me.
Maybe we'll find an arrangement to put this piece of electronics into the service of science
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers,
scholbert
I'm about to send my xperia in for a housing change. Today I pland to bring it to my T-mobile store and there they most likely send it to a Sony Ericsson Service Center. My question: I still have wm 6.5 on it. Does that matter when I claim mechanical flaws? Or do I better change back to wm 6.1? Because I'm afraid they would not touch the phone if they see that it's wm 6.5 on it!
Please help me out! Thanks in advance!
If they see 6.5 they'll declare your warantee void. Then they wont repair it within warantee. Harsh, huh?
However, this is just a corporate policy, and it's at odds with EU law. So, while you could force them to repair it, you'd probably have to take court action. Easier to just put 6.1 on unless you fancy a challenge
Okay - it's strange and I did not think about it in the first place - mechanical claim but take care about software...hehe. But I guess I will just flash it back to 6.1 and install original HardSPL again. Thank you at 45

That's correct. Any kind of "tampering", software or hardware, will void the warranty.
Be sure to flash the stock ROM first before reverting to stock SPL. The other way round might brick it.
Hello all;
I know some people who have tried flashing ROMs in the wrong way, or used bad ROMs, or maybe used ROMs for other devices on theirs, which made them end up with a dead device in the end.
And because HTC doesn't support such misuse of the device, you might end up throwing the device away...
Anyway; if you have a dead HTC Diamond, or any other HTC device, I can fix it for you.
My prices are cheap because I deal with such devices daily, and it depends on the damage happened to the device.
For more info; please don't hesitate to PM me.
Good luck all
Where To Send It To?
Hello there. May I know your location? And how much is considered cheap?
