You have adb drivers? if yes proceed to next step, if no, install them (google it)
Copy system, boot, recovery, cust to adb folder
Open a cmd with shift+ right click
Enter fastboot with volume down+power
Enter the commands from above... that's it i think...(just woke up so maybe forgot something)

did you succeed?
No I didn't because I don't have any working rom. I extracted the system files from two different roms but it didn't work.
I guess I'll wait for huawei to release the stock rom.

try with stock recovery and updaye.app in dload folder
I did. I used sd card. but when I enter recovery, only 3 options are there. 'reboot system now', wipe data/factory reset' and 'wipe cache partition'. When I select factory reset, it starts processing for 5-6% then it stop.

Did you create a "dload" folder in your sd? If not, do it and paste in this new folder only the "update.app" file (once extracted the whole rom) and try again, you have to restart the phone pushing both vol+,vol- and power buttons. I forgot doing this and finally it worked!

Another reason for this error is if you have device encryption enabled. In order to restore factory image, you first need to format /data to remove encryption.
I have no idea why this causes the error "cannot load system.img", but it definitely does.

I faced the same error. Error cannot load system.img. I figured it out after few attempts and a few images. It turns out I had an older version of ADB and I could only install old factory images.

I think you should put the update.zip in the /dload/ folder
but you need to extract that from the zip, if you open the zip file you will see a dload folder already, just put that at the root of your phone internal storage

Try making sure the MM Beta update you down is just called update.zip and put that in /dload/
then go to settings...update...press menu and select local update....and then you can choose the update you want to apply

Oh yes sorry.
Try placing the original download...named update.zip in /dload/ (don't extract any items from the zip) and then restart device whilst volume + and - is pressed at the same time
Also try a factory reset if you can't get passed boot...do that by pressing volume + when u restart
Also try downloading files again I've had corrupt downloads very often.
Read the threads about extracting boot.IMG, cust.IMG, system.IMG and recovery.IMG from the B145 update.app file using huaweiupdateextractor....it may help

Could you do some small tutorial how to flash via fastboot ? I found this post and i don't know exacly what should i do:
bgx said:
I boot into fastboot and flash via fastboot cust.img, boot.img, recovery.img, system.img, data.img (Hope that I haven't forget something) from the B145 full firmware extracted with huawei extractor.
Then reboot and do a full factory reset with stock recovery.
Reboot and then do the partialupdate B303.
After that again full factory reset.
And then it worked!

As far as I know, you need to go to settings and enable - OEM Unlock....but this option is only available in 5.1.1...its not available in B303 Beta...however it does return in B321 Beta.
However as you cant turn phone on you wont be able to get to settings...so you cant unlock bootloader

Can you explain how you got it? I'm on VIE-L09C432B360 and I receive an update to B370 but when the download finishes, the phone restarts and when TWRP tries to install the update I got an error (which I can't read). My guess, the update fails because of TWRP. So I want to reinstall the stock recovery. Can you explain the steps you followed? Thanks in advance.

No problem! Haha, lucky timing, I was about to head to bed.
Anyways, you will need Android-SDK platform tools, Huawei Update Extractor, which you can download here, and the CURRENT firmware file of your device, which you can download using Huawei Firmware Finder here. Here's how you do it...
1. Find and download your firmware using Huawei Firmware Finder. Go to the common base tab and enter your CURRENT build number in the textbox labeled "Model for find". Under the "type" list, find the one that says "FullOTA" and click the link under the "Filelist". This opens a new window with a list of links. Open the link that ends with "update.zip". That will download your firmware.
2. Open the zip file and extract the file called "UPDATE.APP"
3. Open the Huawei Update Extractor, and drag and drop the "UPDATE.APP" on the window. You will see a list of files. Select and right click "RECOVERY.img", and click on "Extract Selected" and set your file destination. This is the recovery software.
4. Once it has finished extracting, simply flash it as you would with TWRP.
Hope this helps! Don't be afraid to ask if you need more help.

Yep! That's how you flash the recovery.
Thanks. I hope you had a nice sleep.
Anyway I did it via flashify, but what I get is eRecovery and I think it's not the same as stock recovery.
Sorry to bother you again, but options are not the same than stock recovery. In eRecovery you haven't options to wipe, only download new versions and reboot/shutdown. As I don't know if stock recovery has been properly installed, I don't dare to install the B370 update.

Hmm, obviously that's not right... Have you tried using ADB to reboot into your recovery? Try opening a command window and try typing in "adb reboot recovery". That's usually how you get into your recovery other than turning on your phone by holding both your volume up and power button until you see the recovery screen. If that doesn't work try flashing again using adb instead of Flashify.

Hi @mechasnyper
I'm on stock B360, rooted and twrp installed. I got an update of B380 and as described by others I was unable to update through twrp. I tried your method, downloaded B360 firmware through FIRMWARE FINDER, when I opened "UPDATE. APP" in update extractor, I got two images of recovery "RECOVERY.IMG" & "RECOVERY2.IMG". I extracted "RECOVERY.IMG" and flashed. Everything went fine recovery flashed successfully.
After that I started OTA update. It started flashing but it is giving me error when reaches at 5%. Kindly tell me what is wrong?
My variant is: VIE-L29C185

Hey all, I'm in a similar situation in that I'm trying to restore stock recovery in order to receive the new B386 OTA update.
Problem is, I'm on B385 firmware and the last version available for download is B384. Does anyone know if it would be possible to extract the B384 recovery and flash that, or is that just a really bad idea?
I'd really rather not do a factory reset all for the sake of a Google security patch
After giving up last year I came back to try again and everything worked smoothly. Don't know why I had trouble the first time!
To anyone with a rooted device who wants to go back to receiving OTA updates, just follow mechasnyper's instructions and download the full firmware zip for your current OS version in Firmware Finder, extract and flash recovery.img, and hey presto.
Now to just sit and wait for the L29 Oreo update to arrive

Hello guys,
Can anyone please clarify to me the source of my problem:
I've tried to root my PRA-LA1 (Huawei GR3 2017 PRA-LA1C185B120) without making a TWRP backup of my partitions :crying: I wiped the data and cache but after that when accessing to system I am not anymore able to:
-access developer options
-setting Pin, Password or enrol a fingerprint
-doing a factory reset from security options
-uninstalling any app even those I've installed
I've already try to flash (boot.img, both recoveries imgs, system.img ) without any success but can't flash vendor.img (Command not allowed)

1- I have an UNLOCKED FRP and UNLOCKED bootloader
2- I Downloaded the B182 TWRP Backup from This Post Made By ChinHona used the rooted version from this link
3- I used TWRP to make a Backup of my own partitions just in case , and I made a full Restore Without oeminfo and Version
after that the phone has booted (after some reboots of course )and it's working properly but the version still PRA-LA1C185B120 to fix that I have opened my own version.emmc.win backup in a HexEditor and searched for every occurrence of C185B120 and replaced it with C185B182 reflashed it with TWRP with skipping MD5 Check and that's it.

Hello guys,
Can anyone please clarify to me the source of my problem:
I've tried to root my PRA-LA1 (Huawei GR3 2017 PRA-LA1C185B120) without making a TWRP backup of my partitions :crying: I wiped the data and cache but after that when accessing to system I am not anymore able to:
-access developer options
-setting Pin, Password or enrol a fingerprint
-doing a factory reset from security options
-uninstalling any app even those I've installed
I've already try to flash (boot.img, both recoveries imgs, system.img ) without any success but can't flash vendor.img (Command not allowed)
