Alarm ringtone/vibrate - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Hi
I just got the huawei p9. I went through the set up quickly so not sure if I disallowed permissions by accident but here's my problem. I've set the alarm but I can't change the ringtone or opt for vibrate.
The button is set to default and is unresponsive to touch?
Any ideas or should I send it back?

alarm question

i have the diamond but each time i would like to set an alarm i get a message telling me the alarm will not sound if the phone is set on silent, hence i am
just wondering if there are any alarm clocks for the touch diamond which will ring when set, even if the phone is on silent mode.
ideas anyone?
in silent mode the device can't play any sounds
the program you would need would have to change
the registry to force the device out of silent mode
to be able to make any souds
is this registry edit possible? i basically want it for use as an alarm clock in the mornings but i dont want to leave the phone able to ring if i were to get a call/txt while i sleep.
flight-mode accomplish that too without any 3th party software
This app should do waht you require...
Even the basic quick alarm with this application provides an audible alert when the phone is set to silent.
Check out G-Alarm
With the more complexed alarms with this app, one can set even the max volume of the alarm - so is independent to the WM volume control.
Hope this helps?
You don't need to do all that, just check the "sound alarms even if device is set to silent" box in the clocks/alarms menu. I put mine on silent every night when I go to sleep and the alarm wakes me up every morning, it goes off at the same volume that you last had the system volume set to before you switched it to silent.
cheers for the help people.

How to save settings permanently?

When I installed Dutty's ROM, it changed my alarm and reminders notification settings. The bubble that used to pop on the screen when the alarm activates is gone.
I can make it re-appear by changing the settings, but when I soft reset the device it goes back to the original settings.
How can I change the setting permanently?
Thanks guys.

Nobody knows how to keep their settings?

Email notification sound reverts to default unexpectedly

I changed my email notification tone to one I regularly use. On what seems to be regular random occasions, the tone is changed back to the default Huawei tone and vibrating when I get an email message is shut off. I then have to manually change the tone/vibration settings back again. Any idea why/how to fix? Same problem on my P20 Pro and Mate 10 both running EMUI 8.1

Clock alarm issues

Hello all,
I have noticed the following issues.
1. When using the built in Android alarm in conjunction with automatic "do not disturb" rules, the alarms only works for a couple of days. After that, it will not go off. I must turn off and then back on to get the alarm to sound in the morning.
2. When I use the huawei alarm in conjunction with automatic " do not disturb" rules, the alarm will never sound. If I unlock the phone, then the alarm will go off. I have ensured that priority notification was wet in the alarm settings and from the app menu.
If I "must" wake up, for example for a flight or something, it is impossible to trust the P20 Pro. I need to fire up my old iphone to make sure my alarm goes off. The last flight I had last week, the iphone saved me because the P20 wasn't interested in sounding the alarm.
Anyone else have these issues?
Yes I have the same issue! Very annoying
Kinda disappointed as I thought I've found the perfect phone
I have to make sure my DND mode ends before my alarm to make it work. The alarm override option in DND does not work
Fixed!!!
Go to Settings > Apps & Notification > Apps > Clock > Notifications
And turn on "Priority Display"
Now it works!
Your DND setting must be Priority. Doesn't work with alarm only.

Alarm Clock (MIUI Clock) and Lockscreen

I have an problem with my Mi9 with the alarm clock.
My lockscreen is secured by pin or fingerprint. When I set an alarm to wake up, an the clock rings, I have to unlock the phone before I can use the turn off buttons on the screen. Early in the morning this is very annoying .
I could not find any permissions according to miui clock, to override the lockscreen. When i install the google clock or any other i can give the app the permission to overide the lockscreen
The strange thing is, when I test the clock (for example alarm in 5 minutes), the buttons on the screen appears without the need to unlock. The problem seems to appear only when the clock should ring in the next hours
A factory reset is already done, with the same behavior.
Has anyone a suggestion to solve this problem?
This bug was introduced a few builds ago, it's caused by Do Not Disturb mode. You need to have the DND to goes off before the alarm.
I personally never had this problem

You are right, I have DND enabled during night.
I scheduled the dnd mode to disable 10 minutes before my alarmclock rings.
The last two mornings it works like a charm
thank you
I have DND schedule from 23.00 to 08:00and my alarm set to 7:15, and it rings every single day since i have the phone, and can disable alarm or snooze it from lock screen.
I was on EEA stable, on global beta, and now on xiaomi.eu 9.8.29, never had one single incident with alarm...
Same problem here...
Same problem with my phone as well. I do not set DND.
