INSTALLATION
1. Install zip from recovery
2. Follow the instructions, if you don't know what to do, use the preselected options
3. Reboot
It is recommended to disable or increase the screen timeout in TWRP recovery. If the screen timeout is enabled in TWRP, there may be a black screen after exiting the Aroma installer. This is nothing to worry about. Simply hold power and volume down until it reboots. The installation will be fine.

Can you try formatting your SD card in FAT32? It should work.
@acery2k You need to use fat32 format...it will work then. @2111002640 has confirmed 32 GB SD card works with fat32.
Work fine with 32gb sdcard

Cool. A donation would be much more better than a thanks. : p Check out Butterfly S general section, we have some really cool ROMs for B2 out there ,

Does the kernel only support external SD Card with Fat32? Because I format the sd card as exfat and my phone keep showing that the SD card needs to be fixed (format again). I formated it to Fat32, and the SD card's UUID changed after formating while all my apps still linked to the old UUID. Is there any ways to change UUID back to old one.
I tried tune2fs to change UUID via Terminal Emulator but it seems only support exfat.

Many of us are disappointed about the reading speed of the SD Cards on our HD2. It doesn't matter if you have fast 10 Class SD Card, it performs very poorly on HD2 comparing how it performs on the PC.
The clue is the Cache size for reading from SD Card. It's set to 128 KB, on some ROM's it's even set to 4 KB!
You can check for yourself your Cache size by looking into this file:
/sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb
You can change it manually but it will be reverted to default on the reboot. The changes need to be done permanently by loading the script on the startup through the init.d.
Or you can flash the CWM zip files that I made for you.
For RA 1.7 Recovery zip look into this post. Many thanx to user laie1472 for making them.
You must find which Cache size fits best for your SD Card. In my case its the 3072 KB Cache size. At best, use the Root Explorer to change the value, then run SD Tools Benchmark - finally flash the CWM zip file that fits your SD Card.
Here are two screenshots - the first one shows the reading speeds with the default Cache 128 KB and the second one is with the 3072 KB Cache with my Class 4 SD Card on CM7 RC2 by Charnsingh.
The Benchmark is made with the SD Tools program.
If you want to convince yourself of the speed improvement after applying the fix, just open your Gallery and see how fast it loads the photos!
Suggestion: 2048 KB Cache size performs at best for most of the SD Cards!
If you don't have CWM then you can do following:
Make a file with this content:
Version 1:
#!/system/bin/sh
if [ -e /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb ]
then
/system/xbin/echo "128" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb;
fi;
Click to collapse
Version 2 (If the Version 1 is not working for your ROM - credit goes to rafpigna!):
# Tweak mmc read-ahead - rafpigna -
mmcfolder="/sys/devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host/mmc1"
cd $mmcfolder
folderlist=`ls -1`
mmcresult=`echo $folderlist | grep -o '\bmmc1:\w*' | sed 's/mmc1://'`
echo 128 > /sys/devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:$mmcresult/block/mmcblk0/queue/read_ahead_kb
cd /

Change the red marked number from 128 to what you need (example 2048) and save it as "99sdcardreadfix", copy it with the Root explorer or push it with ADB into /system/etc/init.d and set permissions to 777. Reboot.
Some of the ROM chiefs have hardcoded this values in the init, that can't be changed - only by the chief himself.
Some of the ROM's already contain this tweak in another script that is saved in the init.d folder. Probably it's tagged with the number 99 in the filename to be sure that it's executed at last. You have to change it there.
Rafpigna - the HD2 Android chief - pointed that out over here.
For ROM Cookers - add this line into init.rc file:
# sd card read speed fix
write /sys/block/mmcblk0/bdi/read_ahead_kb 2048

How to install the CWM zip files:
In the MAGLdr menu or in CWM menu you navigate with the Volume rocker buttons "Up" and "Down", Call button is for "O.K." or "Confirm", the EndCall button is for "Back".
If you have a CWM zip file (open the zip file, if it contains the METAInf folder then its a CWM zip file), copy it to your SD Card (I use a folder called Android Files on my SD Card).
Then power-off your Phone and start the MAGLdr menu by Holding the Power button until the MAGLdr menu comes.
Go down to AD Recovery and press the Call button to start the CWM.
In the CWM menu go to "Install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard". Navigate to the folder where you copied your zip file and choose the zip file.
After the zip file is installed, restart your Phone.

No, by default is 128 KB. So I think that it is better to have anything beyond that.

Try to change the values manually and see if there is any diference. If that ROM uses the CWM then you can flash the file, if not then you have to find another way of adding the values to the file.

It's true, this is awesome. Reading speed was vastly improved! I'm using a c2 sandisk 32gb with hyperdroid gbx.

nice job m8
I can confirm improved speed
Running HyperDroid V11
Write speed went from 5.5 - 5.6
Read speed went from 18.7 - 51.2 !!!!
is the reading the only thing that improves drastically?
How do you know which Cache size to use? I am running a stock 16G card.

Yes, the writing speeds are not reduced or influenced by the Cache size.

I keep up thanks to people like you, porting their devices trees
:good:
I use scripts to build recoveries and repack them
Compiling, repacking and creating zip + tar files classified in upload path for one or 130 devices is just one command line,
Adding a tar release is just:
Code:
TAR_MD5_FLASH="yes"
However, it is still a huge impressive job mainly to port device trees, kernel sources, bugs...
the scripts must be maintained too, all the time
Hopefully I will soon be able to only focus on recovery sources and selected devices while devs can build full version at their will
Uploaded tar.md5
Let me know when you fix your device tree
By the way, recovery doesn't need all the modules
Also, no need to specify kernel sources and use TARGET_PREBUILT_KERNEL flag
Hope you can fix the vold soon too
Use my minivold binary to have exfat support through kernel modules if you compile it again

I have updated my device source on github to fix vold and kernel. https://github.com/gr8nole/android_device_samsung_lt02wifi
The external sd card is listed as /storage/extSdCard in the device vold.fstab, so I used that and it works. No extra.fstab needed.
I also updated the fstab to use the "by name" convention for all other mount points. The usb devices will probably never work for us because the device vold.fstab refers to mount points in "omap" directories which we do not even have.
I commented out the portions pertaining to prebuilt kernel, so it compiles (and uses) the kernel from source now.
I did compile a non-touch version this morning with these changes and everything seems to work great.
Thank you.

A) Go to Settings > Developer options > Root access, and enable it for apps, adb or both.
Q) Why is wifi always on in battery stats, even if it was disabled?
A) Go to Settings > Location > press on the 3 dots (top right) > scanning > disable wifi.
Q) How do I update Gapps? (Also useful if you have Gapps related problems).
A) Reboot into recovery. Wipe System, Cache and Dalvik Cache. Install ROM + Gapps. Reboot.
Bootloader
This rom is meant to be used with kitkat bootloader. If you are unsure of what bootloader you are using, you should flash the following zip within recovery (official TWRP recommended):
V50020F Bootloader: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24352994023707804
* Some stock based roms flash bootloader files without the user being aware of it. So just to be safe, I recommend everybody to flash the above zip to make sure that you are using all the correct bootloader files.
The installation went perfectly on a clean installation.
Huge thanks!
Same here installation is fine. Any way to make my sdcard work without a format?

yes, select portable storage.
Tried portable storage but said it was corrupt. Bit the bullet and formatted, had a backup so no biggie. ROM working great though.

There are two ways you can use your sdcard in marshmallow, as external storage or as emulated internal storage. Only the second one should require to format the sdcard.

I'm not sure why this is happening to you. You could try deleting the .android_secure folder in your external sdcard from recovery. That could be the reason why it says your sdcard is corrupt.
And I just did a clean installation of the latest CM12.1 today...
Thanks a lot @fefifofum! Downloading! I guess I'll go to sleep later tonight!
I tried to run Antutu but everytime it stops at 76%.
And adding a profile picture doesn't work.
Two minor things maybe; is a clear all recents button available somewhere and I can't turn off keyboard/touch sounds, I turn off the toggle but they are still on.

You goto keyboard settings and disable from there.

I too needed to format my sdcard (in portable mode) maybe filesystem related? I had an exfat fs now its fat32.
Installed yesterday. Enjoying now! Just great! Gamma is much better than in the two recent 12.1s.
Can't figure, though, how to make voice input work. There is a mic icon on keyboard... but nothing happens. Can live with that.
Portable storage works for me. I experienced some sd dismounts as on cm12.1. But in contrast to cm12.1 the external sd doesn't remount by itself. So I have to make reboot...
Otherwise everything seems work smooth and stable. Thanks for your hard work!

That's caused by the adreno blobs from flo 6.0 used in this first release. Now I updated them from latest qcom release and the 3d test in antutu doesn't fail anymore. So tomorrow I will release a new build with that issue fixed.

I think that the first issue you mention is an upstream bug, we have to wait for it to get fixed.

That could be related to android_secure folder in external sdcard, but I need someone to erase it from recovery and confirm if that solves the issue. If that is the case, what I really need to fix is TWRP, which should erase android_secure folder when you do a factory reset.

Gamma should be exactly the same as in my builds of cm-12.1. About voice input, it's probably an upstream bug too.

Maybe the new storage approach used in marshmallow makes the sdcard not to remount automatically, no idea since I don't have unmounts. I'm sure someone else will confirm this in the following days. This post is interesting, you should read it, maybe the easiest workaround is to use a different sdcard. What brand, capacity, class... is the sdcard you are using?

I come from using NightOwls beta 5
after install, (format system, cache, data) (I flash ROM, Open Gapps, and Xposed Frameworks using TWRP IsoRec)
-TWRP IsoRec still work after install :good:
-wifi doesnt work (as it says) :crying:
-SIM card doesnt detected. (even after replugging the SIM card and reboot) :crying:
-camera : (back and front camera have the same condition)
o taking photo work :good:
o Taking video doesnt work (I tried every video quality) it shows camera error
-Memory :
o it appears to make another internal storage as the original internal storage is recognized as sd card
o files from original internal storage(sd card), external SD card, and USB OTG cannot be opened. (it still display the list of files but error when try to open any files) :crying:
thats what I got from trying this :v
maan, this isnt even a beta I think haha #nohardfeelings :silly:

Did you clean install? Wipe everything completely including all the caches and install? Cause wifi works for me.. It didn't work during the setup screen but after that it started working.

yep I did. I turned on the wifi in setting or notification bar but actually it was not on, the phone didn't scan any wifi network. And I went back and go into the wifi setting again, the wifi was off.
And I flashed twice ( both wiped everything ) but the problem was still.

NOTES - MUST READ
1. All credits goes to @Grarak for making the sources. I've only built LOS using his sources. Also I've been able to build by using Google Cloud platform since my PC is crap... It took me 1h 30m to build with Google Cloud platform, while with my PC was still building after 7h of building and then got an error regarding my PC (was too slow or out of memory).
2. Don't use encryption. I don't know why, but Grarak mentioned this on his twitter at the last build for CAN-L01.

- Unlocked bootloader ( here's a guide about how to unlock it)
- TWRP by @Grarak. I've been on his TWRP while flashing LOS. I don't know if it works with other TWRP.

3. Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik-cache.
4. Flash the ROM from the directory where you've placed it.
5. Flash GAPPS (OPTIONALLY).
6. Reboot.

It goes fine on my AL10, and the SD card issue I had was solved with:
Code:
sm storage-force-adaptable yes
I posted that in the other lineage thread.
My question would now be how is this different than the other build?
---------- Post added at 06:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:59 AM ----------
Only other thing I will mention, I use gravity box for minor status bar tweaks (the percent seems to not natively stay in the circle) and pie control with no nav bar (more screen for me). If you touch lockscreen stuff in gravity box you will make your lockscreen insecure. It will be a simple swipe in order to get to your phone. I know gravity box should not be used with lineage, but I mention it as I encountered it.

Thanks for this tip. I understand that this command enables adoptable storage, but I don't want to use adoptable storage as it may slow down the phone. Also, by using this command, the sdcard gets formatted too?

The CAN-L01 build couldn't be flashed on CAN-L11 because the partition sizes defined in BoardConfig.mk were L01 ones which were bigger than L11 ones and upon flashing L01 build I was getting an error saying that it's too big.
I've corrected the partition sizes for L11 and built it. That's the only change.
It seems that the sdcard can be accessed through /mnt/media_rw/9016-4EF8, assuming you're rooted.
I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong.
I see, when I ran the command posted above my SD card was visible in other file explorers.

It should work as long as it flash successfully. It's the same ROM as L01 one just that it has the partition sizes modified for L11, so it should work. If it gets stuck in recovery while flashing, then it means that the L11 partition sizes "doesn't fit" your model.

Hello
Does anybody have the camera working?
I will give it a shot next weekend, kind of need my phone to work during the week. I wonder if we start a partition table thread if that would be helpful. It was my understanding that most of the partitions are the same except userdata, which is based on variant.

That's weird. It's working fine for me and there's no issues.
Can you try to wipe Internal storage too? But make a backup of internal memory before doing that.
I haven't flashed GAPPS as I'm not using them, but it shouldn't affect the camera in any way.
I've just tried Open Camera and works fine too.
