Hey Guys,
I have got a problem with my p9. I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted my phone with the SRK-Tool. Everything seemed to work fine.
A few days later I wanted to install "fRomFuture" V3. First I wanted to backup my phone in TWRP, afterwards wipe system / data / cache and dalvik cache.
Neither was possible.
So I installed the Rom without any Wipe. And the Rom works very fine.
Now I want to update to V4.1, but it still doesn't work and I don't want to risk anything.
It would be great if someone could help me
Thanks and Sorry for my english

Folks,
Seeing alot of comments about bootloops, etc after trying to install the new stable OOS Oreo release.
I went through the same issue myself and found the following method to work best.
PLEASE NOTE: I'm not responsible if this does Any type of damage or issues to your device.
Be sure to backup all you need to back up to your PC.
1. Complete wipe of phone.
2. Flash the stock recovery that was used for reverting from Oreo Beta to Nougat. http://oxygenos.oneplus.net.s3.amazonaws.com/OP5_recovery.img
3. Wipe everything again.
4. Sideload new Oreo release. (Credit @HatRiGt, https://drive.google.com/open?id=1NW5zyUOL6bWgUWozFGLiutzud203npKp)
5. Reboot to bootloader and flash the Chinese TWRP. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AKbC4HB0h4rEldQUowWGdyM4iYBVV--7
6. Reboot to recovery and flash Magisk. I flashed the 14.6 version and haven't found any issues yet. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4366826&d=1513897917)
7. Boot phone.
I cannot promise this will work for you, but it has done the job for me.
Running Oreo Stable with Magisk 14.6 and restored all apps from Titanium Backup that I saved on my PC.
I highly suggest blu_spark TWRP instead of chinese one, and i think this method is ONE of the other working way
Couldn't get mine to work with blu spark, hence why I had to use chinese
Link for Chinese twrp please
Thank you very much, work for me
Make a video of it please
New Magisk v.15.

All is well. And with google Drive almost all data is back.
Nice & easy workaround..
Step 5 has to be : install TWRP on fastboot mode...
@hallo dare
Any chance you can make a very detailed video about this process?

You should try changing the TWRP
If you have problems with adb sideload:
Boot into fastboot and install stock .
Unlock/Lock your Phone and unlock it again. Locking will wipe the whole phone.
After this you can make a clean installation.
Reboot to bootloader and flash the Chinese TWRP and boot to Recovery.
Install the oreo.zip file.
Reboot to System.
Make your Setup: WLAN, GMail Account aso.....
After all boot to Recovery and install Magisk
Very easy, put oreo zip file in the root folder, backup all data, flash stock recovery, boot with stock recovery, wipe cache, upgrade internal..., Select oreo zip file and flash it, then back and select wipe, select erase every thing and reboot. Done.
Thank you so much! I finally got it working. I needed to do a factory wipe and skip the magisk installation but it worked!
Cheers!

Magisk won't flash on stock recovery, if that's the reason you had to skip installing it.

You need to format data in twrp, reboot to recovery in twrp, do a factory reset then flash eu rom.
or use this twrp https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78047648&postcount=14

what twrp?
I installed the twrp mentioned by maketzu111. Then I wiped data. Then rebooted into the twrp
Then I flashed "xiaomi.eu_multi_MI8SE_V10.0.1.0.OEBCNFH_v10-8.1.zip" from the miui 10.1 stable sourceforge page. It is stuck on the mi splash-logo for a very long time. what's happening?

You did format the data? What i have read it's the main reason why device goes bootloop if you didn't do that. Rom isn't installed properly if the device stuck to bootloop or in this case stucks to loading screen
Hello,
I've installed twrp 3.4.0.1 via fastboot, but after I select yes when i'm asked about erasing my data, the phone just boot up normally without deleting any of my data, but does not enter twrp either. Tried 3.4.0.0 too, no luck. Only 3.3.1.0 worked, but when I try to backup it says something like 'can't mount system partition' and some other errors. I think that version is too old for my rom, so I'm afraid to use it for backup/flash. My phone is LG G6 H870, Android 9, software version V30b. The phone is not rooted, the bootloader is unlocked. Tried to erase cache partition and install twrp 3.4.01 again, didn't work. I can't install Skyhawk or Orangefox becuase I can't use twrp.
Is anybody facing this problem too?
Thanks!

HI You need to use OrangeFox recovery or SkyHawk. If you plan to go to 10, then you need SkyHawk. And I think SkyHawk is maintained but OrangeFox not.

So can I install SkyHawk via fastboot over stock recovery without installing twrp beforehand? I see there are multiple files in the shyhawk zip, should I only extract the recovery img and install it via fastboot? I'm kinda new to this, thanks!

HI. It is made to flash in TWRP (same as OrangFox) So I really don't know if that recovery.img flashing through Fastboot works. Never tried, sorry.
Maybe someone knows though.

Ok, thanks, I'll try to find a solution, or maybe I'll just wait for the next version of twrp.
You should try installing the recovery and immediately installing any custom rom, when i flashed twrp the first time i had to do it several times cause somehow it got "erased" every time i noot the stock OS.
Ig you don't want to install a custom rom try right after installing twrp and on the fastboot screen to reboot to recovery with (Volume - ) button and power.
I think the idea is not letting the Stock os boot
Also that error. i have the same problem, the only moment it doesn't appear is when you wipe all data with the "Format Data" option inside "Wipe" menu in twrp.
After you boot to the OS once and go back to recovery it will come again everytime you flash something.
Not sure if its a problem or not, because i've dirty installed some updates and also installed gapps and magisk even with that error.
Im currently in A10 using Havoc and NikGapps.

Yes, I know I have to install twrp again every time I let the stock rom boot, but the only version of twrp working is 3.2.3 and I think that was released before the G6 received official Android 9 update, so that's why I'm not very confident using it. I've tried to enter recovery immediately after I've installed it, so I don't think that's the problem.
I have the same problem on the LG G6 H870. I won't get to TWRP. I tried several versions of TWRP and nothing.
Edit.
This twrp is functional:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=289997
After installation using fastboot, restart directly to twrp using power+vol. down.
Finally i've successfully flashed Skyhawk using TWRP 3.3.1, so thanks everyone for advice!
Still couldn't make official TWRP 3.4.0/3.4.0.1 work.

Hi, I don't know if this goes here, I hope you can help me, I update twrp from version 3.1 to 3.4 and now I can't access twrp, how can I fix it?
Hello again, I answer myself, and if it helps someone else, using adb fastboot with twrp 3.2 Melina solves it and twrp works perfectly again.
Hi everyone!!
I have the update notification for 12.0.2.0 global, but I have a rooted phone with TWRP installed.
If I wish to update through TWRP without losing my data, apps and root what can I do?
Is there any method?
Where can I download the update file to flash with TWRP?
Thank you for any help!!
hi there,
if you also have the Mi 9 CEPHEUS- Global version, just download the .zip Rom from here:
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.0.2.0.QFAMIXM/miui_CEPHEUSGlobal_V12.0.2.0.QFAMIXM_a559c4c1fe_10.0.zip
this link is provided in this page from XDA: https://www.xda-developers.com/down...ing-out-several-xiaomi-redmi-mi-poco-devices/
install normally with TWRP, and then flash Magisk 20.4 as well and reboot.
What I personally did, was taking a backup of my apps with Titanium and wiped (Dalvik, Cache, System root, Vendor and Data) in TWRP before flashing the Rom to prevent any possible bootloops.
Bu you can also try it without the major wipes and see if it works.

Thank you for for reply and help.
So I did exactly like you explained, but before going into TWRP I removed my mi account and any fingerprint/passwords, then in TWRP i did only wipe dalvik and cache to avoid losing everything from apps.
And voilá! It worked!
Thank you again!!!
Oh brilliant!
And yes you did it right about removing your account and lock screen, which I forgot to mention.
