Hi all
I can see that not much is going on here on this forum with the Xperia x performance.
Custom Rom etc is not existing and not much activity on the forums. Not compared to galaxy s7 anyways.
Sony has never made better phones than now, and the arc, s, z etc had a lot of activity.
It is a shame.

There won't be anytime soon either, but a way to back up the ta keys on all the x range would be great. Currently the only thing stopping me unlocking & rooting my xa. made the mistake of loosing ta keys before won't do it again.

Do you actually think the X line is better than the Z line? Seriously?
It is a shame.

The shame is the loss of DRM keys and all the rest.
What rest? Well, on Z3 and Z3c we can't even use an AOSP rom without big issues on the camera (the fish-eye bug), therefore for us a real development has really never started in 2 years (2 years my friend!!!!)
We were a lot of people, everybody is escaping now... :crying:

I actually think the X performance is a nice phone, ofcoz the X is actually downgrade from Z5...
It's ok as far as they keep a flagship upgraded and better than before. The new design looks excellent and for me is better than the boring Z series look, actually even better than the new xz.
Btw, for the reason they sell the standard X so hard, more than the X perf is that they dont want people to get X Perf coz it's too good, too good that u wont need to upgrade for a long time. Sony wants u to upgrade after a year, not 2 or 3 years like the over power Z series LOL. And ofcoz personally I'd recommend Z5 more than the standard X, but X perf is excellent to me
I'm liking my x performance replaced my Z3 which I still have its a great device with tons of Power we just need to find a way to bypass or fake dm-verity to get root on lb

Is "AndroPlus Kernel v7" did the work here (fake DRM /hide DRM security measure)? but this time with UB.
And as i know the difference between the LB and the UB is the lack of the DRM, but if the problem solved here with this kernel so it considered as a partial resolution until find another way to root with LB.
Correct me if i was wrong
Thanks

Problem is some carriers lock the bl and you can't unlock cause unlock bootloader says no and no way to change it to yes on carrier locked ones. Ive talked to Sony and Rogers and neither are interested in helping change status to yes. Sony says talk to carrier and carrier says talk to Sony just a vicious circle has to be a way to change status

Recently I had some problems with my rooted SGA, it restarts constantly because of the RAM I think, it heated constantly without having the charger plugged every 10 minutes, its slow with every game and some apps.
Yesterday a friend told me that his LG Optimus One didn't heated anytime, it was very fast, and it never rebooted itself and he didn't had any problem with it,

GO get SONY ! Great Support ..
If you still want Samsung, then go get their High-End Devices coz if not, you'll get a crappy support (like everyone's experiencing right now) .. they are known for that anyway ..
About LG, never tried it yet ..
For me it's either HTC or Sony.
My preference is Samsung. LG has the worst and ugliest interface I have ever seen but touchwiz is better!
And LG copies Samsung in many aspects. It does not have good software also.
Samsung.
If you have
-random restarts you need to change rom, haha
-slow ace, uninstall crap apps
Keep youre device clean and only with few apps if u want it for games.

Well from my experience, used all of them i guess
1. Samsung--- only go for high end phones. for lower end phones, support sucks. Though service centers are great and that way support is good.
2.LG--- Same as samsung. Update wise sucks but service wise sucks too
3.HTC-- Great UI. But customer support sucks
4.Sony-- Great UI. Good hardware. Best on updates. Service support good. ****

The Xperia Ray is pretty good, 1 Ghz Qualcomm, 100 g, around the same price, all the above mentioned things about sony phones, better battery life, unreal pixel density compared to our ace and an 8 MP camera to top it off. In Singapore, unlocked it's about $50-80 more expensive than the ace so it's about $350++ Singapore dollars, about $300 USD estimated. It's pretty darn good for it's price.
Try to go for the latest nxt series by sony. I hope xperia sola will fit in price range or xperia P

Hello friends,
I own a Xperia Arc S and would like to upgrade. But not shure whether to get Xperia T or TX
Xperia T have good ROM support over here whereas TX doesnt.
According to me TX looks better though.
I know the actualy difference between them but would like to know lil more from users.
So i need your help guys in deciding as it is a big investment and dont want to regret later in future.
I went through many threads but couldnt find my answers.
Any help is appreciated
Thank You
I got the T, and never once missed the removable battery, off not I really like non removable battery, it is a little bit bigger, and hard reboot is done with button combo.
Sent from my Xperia LT30p using XDA Premium app.
Did I help? Then please press the thanks button
The real big selling point of T is it's LTE capability but provided your carrier also supports it. Otherwise just get the TX, it slightly looks better plus battery is removable.
Btw, the TX has the CyanogenMod support now also like the T.
Tapatalked from my TX
yea i was wondering about the hard reboot too..normal we just remove the battery to restart. But always wondered what non-removable battery mobile ppl do..
I have one more doubt. Cant we flash T ROM on TX just like we do in Arc forum. Arc S ROMs can be flashed on Arc with lil patch.
For ICS ROMS that is indeed possible, the patch isn't there (yet) for JB

So TX users haven't enjoyed the taste of sony JB yet?
There is a thread very similar to this already.
If I recall correctly, the only differences were the T has better rom support, LTE capability, and a bigger battery, while the TX has a removable (but less capacity) one.
yes i went through many threads but couldnt find my answer correctly.
Hope TX ROM support really picks up. Bad thing is that launch of xperia Z is around the corner and many ppl will go for that instead of xperia T or TX and this is surely hit TX development.

Screen wise, tx does seem a little clearer, but only if you have touch firmware B

I was given 2 weeks to try this phone out which will be up this friday and I would like to get a phone that can be rooted and is on par or better than the TL. I also have this thing called "trade up" which allows me to trade in my phone for 75% (300$) of its value (400$) credit towards a new phone at any time. So I can trade in for the Z if/when it comes out for AT&T if/when it comes out in the US. What on AT&T market right now for 400$-500$ should I grab? I'm new to Android from iOS and jailbreaking and the TL is my first android and I have loved it. So XDA, please help me out a bit and toss your opinions around. Samsung SIII? Similar feature-wise, but slightly bigger. Has LTE and is available through At&t, and also apparently has a big dev community for AOSP, but if you purchase from at&t, it may be a special version in which the bootloader has been locked down. I guess you'd have to do some sleuthing in regards to that. You could always just return your TL to at&t and get an unlocked SIII from a third party; that way you'd know that you'd be able to unlock it...
Thanks for the reply

That's the root method to use but you have to install the backup and restore app manually before you do it since at&t removed it from their firmware.
Sent from my Sony Xperia™ Z
If you really want to switch, I'd say go for an HTC One VX/X possibly the white X. The sounds are much better and the phone feels just sexy in your hand! But you will have a mainstream 8MP camera (if you are concerned about it). I will not recommend Pantech as they are relatively new in the high end smartphone business AFAIK. Buying an Ion will actually be kind of a downgrade from the T. LG is not too durable and the Samsung devices that you have mentioned here seem to be a little outdated. AFAIK.
Thanks for the input man. I like the HTC but the screens seem a bit off colored in pictures compared to the bravia screens. What do you think?
I can't find how to install it manually. Any guides you could direct me to? Sorry in advance if it's staring me in the face and I'm blind.

I mainly rooted to remove the bloatware AT&T apps ( but now I use the LT30p firmware so no bloatware from AT&T). Z will not be available through AT&T, would have to get it unlocked instead.
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting an Xperia Z soon but after doing a bit of research, it seems like this phone has a lot of pretty serious problems. This article mentions the most common ones:
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/sony-xperia-z-problems-bug-fixes/
Well, I was just wondering if these problems still exist? I know that most Sony phones have problems related to WiFi and poor battery life, but is it especially bad on the Xperia Z?
Also, are there any other more serious problems I should be aware of, such as the sudden death problem (which apparently is now fixed?) ?
What are you doing with your phone mostly? do you have any other options?
in my opinion you should look for something else, but xperia z does its job very well (except POOR pics quality...)

I don't really use my phone much, mostly just txt and calls, light web browsing and gaming.
I don't have many options, mainly because the other alternatives are expensive. I'm considering this an option because someone is selling it cheap 2nd hand, and it's within my acceptable range.

Well, that's good to hear. I just wanted to make sure, because from the many comments I've read, many people have had serious problems with WiFi and battery issues. It also seems a pretty well known problem among Sony phones, similar to how HTC phones have had display, WiFi and overheating issues.

Ive actually explained this before so i wont do that again. But here comes a theory why ppl belive the features aint working.
The cam stopped to work completley pre 4.3 right ? Ye back then the Bionz was affected hence the camera didnt work with unlocked bootloader. The camera itself cant work if the Bionz chip aint there. Google for image processing chips for cameras in general and find out what it is.
Although, Sony fixed theese issues with KitKat and here it comes, brace yourself. If you google this you will get ALOT of answers about it. Everyone suffered from bad quality photos since KitKat was introduced(even the normal users that never fiddles with their phones). So, NO it aint the unlocking of the bootloader that does it. Sony fixed all thoose problems ppl were having with unlocked bootloaders. It is the new software that does it. Media reviewers actually wrote about this aswell saying that Sonys cam wasnt any good no more. Google is your friend.
A bonus theory here: The "conspiracy theory" : Wouldnt it be smart to make some features look abit worse on the Z1 when the release of the Z2 is just around the corner ? If a customer wants a really good camera phone and just cares about that. And when he is comparing the Z1 with the Z2 and found that Z1 is just as good camera wise but half the price he would buy that one i would guess. Buuuut if you make sure the camera isnt working as good on the Z1 but super good on the Z2 while releasing the Z2. Then that consumer might buy the Z2 instead. It could very well be marketing stunts so the normal user would go "ehhh this Z1 aint working properly, ahh well ill just buy a new one like the Z2".
And ofc, when the Z2 has been out for a while the software will be fixed on the Z1 making the ones that didnt jump the train for Z2 happy again so that thoose might continue to buy Sony Xperia´s.
All big companies wanna make money. They have smart ways of doing so aswell.
I will buy a OnePlus One when that is released here, and if that is so good as it seems to be and that the company will continue to produce "flagship killers" to the half price and a more humane price. I will continue to support them instead. But usually everyone making money will get greedy.
